Instead of crowning a Triple-A champion through postseason play, Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball announced the addition of a "Final Stretch" schedule that will add 10 games to the Chihuahuas schedule.
Fans at the Double-A, High-A and Low-A levels will see playoffs with a twist. The top two teams in each league will face off in a best-of-five series on Sept. 21. Normally, each division winner makes it to the postseason. However in this format, only the top two teams by winning percentage will play for the championship of their respective level.
Unlike the other levels, there will be no playoffs in Triple-A. Both Triple-A West and Triple-A East will have two five-game series that start late September and end on Oct. 3.
