A HEARTBROKEN mother who nursed her terminally ill daughter has died at the age of 70.
Stephanie Feeney died on February 28, 14 years after her daughter Gemma died at the age of just 29.
She had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mrs Feeney, a qualified nurse, cared for her brave daughter Gemma who fought a long and courageous battle against a brain tumour. She died in 2007.
Sister Geraldine Blackledge told The Bolton News: “Stephanie never got over this tragedy, part of her was lost.”
Mrs Feeney quit her job as a nurse to support Gemma in her brave fight against the cancer, which also inspired the people of Bolton, who raised £100,000 to fund treatment, money which has now gone towards helping others who have been diagnosed with the condition.
