A tribute released by the club said: "Scotty played an instrumental part in helping the club achieve the elevation from the Stroud Leagues to our position in the Southern League today.
"He was a well-respected and liked life member of the club serving on the committee for a majority of his time with the club.
"Many tributes from past and present players and local clubs have been pouring in via social media since the news broke.
"Alongside the likes of Paul Chappell and John Mack he worked tirelessly in the background to build up the facilities around Thornhill Park and would always be one of the first to volunteer to help out on projects around the ground accompanied by his faithful companion Woody.
