Newly-planted trees along the Blackwater Creek Trail behind Linkhorne Middle School each represent fourteen service member from the Lynchburg area, killed in action in Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, and on U.S. soil since 1983. Community members honored the fourteen at a memorial ceremony Saturday, hosted by the Lynchburg Area Veterans Council.
