Tim gabby, if voter turnout during president ial primaries tends has been historically low in the past, that was not the case on saturday. Check this out. 25 of all registered voters in the state cast a ballot on saturday for one of the six gop contenders. Compare that to a 22 turnout in 2012, when voters had nine republican candidates to choose from. And look at these increases in voter turnout at the county level, compared to 2012. Voters in union and cherokee counties cast 29 more ballots this past saturday, than they did in the gop primary in 2012. Pickens, laurens, and anderson counties, also casting more ballots. Same story in these five counties. Abbeville, spartanburg, greenwood, oconee, and increases in voter turnout compared to the 2012 primary. Pickens and oconee counties had the largest percentages of voter turnout in the state this past saturday. A 36 turnout in Pickens County, and a 33 turnout in oconee county, compared to the statewide average of 25 . South carolina will hold its democratic primary this coming saturday. But as of now, the turnout we saw for the gop primary two days ago was even greater than the recordsetting turnout by democrats in 2008, who were eager to see president obama elected. Nigel . Myra we spoke to the Spartanburg CountyVoter Registration and elections director, who says if you meet the qualifications to vote early because you cant be at the polls saturday, minute. Do what these ladies are doing. They are here on a monday, casting their ballots. Please, please, please make sure that the folks dont wait until the last minute to change their address, or to find their voting location. Myra director henry laye says voters showing up at the wrong polling site was a common problem during the republican primary. Ultimately, it kept Sergeant Janelle martucci from casting a ballot. She first showed up at the wrong site, and then sped her way to the correct one, where she was told it was too late to vote. I pointed to them, and told them, its two til 7 00. They say fishermen found a womans body on a boat ramp yesterday morning, off bucksin road in easley. Wyff news 4s aly myles reports from the scene. Aly officials identified a body found here as 35yearold reza khan. She was found sunday morning when two fishermen called authorities, telling them a woman was badly injured and wasnt responding. Neighbors right next to this dock told us they didnt hear gunshots between saturday night and monday morning. And sunday morning. Investigators are trying to figure out who khan was with saturday night. James rice lived near the dock for years. A lot of families know each other. Everyone kind of knows everybodys real attentive. Aly he says violence like this doesnt happen around here. I lived here 5 years, and you never heard of anything going on down here. People might throw a wild party or something, but youve never heard of no killings, or no beatings, or anything like that. Aly so far, no weapon has been found, and no arrest have been made. Mandy it was november 19th, 2014. Chuck keeler was helping to build senecas Water Treatment plant, when he fell. This cross, a way to honor him, along a patio near the building. A resident complained to the freedom from religion foundation. The wisconsion organization has now sent a letter to seneca city officials, asking that the cross be taken down. It makes me a little angry, that theyre trying to take that away. Its only been a year and three months since we lost him, and for them to come in and try to take the cross away, its just so disrespectful to my dad.
