Gabrielle right now, duke energy is reporting thousands of outages in the asheville area. According to the Duke Energy Website, nearly 6,000 customers are without power. Duke energy crews are working to identify the cause of the outage. Officials say crews are switching circuits to bring power back on, and it should be restored very soon. A 17yearold is being charged, after authorities found weapons in his car on Mcdowell High School property. According to the Mcdowell County Sheriffs Office, with drugs, a handgun, ammunition, and metal knuckles inside. Authorities say a Security Guard at Mcdowell High School spotted the weapons inside the car. Brooks faces multiple charges, including felony possession of a weapon on educational property. Mandy its known as the bailes bill building behind me and , has been around since at least the early 1900s. Its been vacant since the Anderson County Voter Registration and Elections Office was relocated. Its director asked for the department to be moved out of the building, because of its poor condition. Today, Anderson County administrator rusty burns was given the date of february 22nd for the demolition to begin. Itll take an estimated 30 days. Burns says, tearing the building down was necessary. The county bought them and used them with the idea that they were temporary too long, and they slowly deteriorated. And, i mean, they had asbestos, and the possibility of suspicious other things in there, and so we looked at the possibility of redoing those buildings. But really, theyre not tall enough, and theyre not big enough, and they were never designed for what we might possibly want to do. Health Officials Say the first travelrelated case of the virus has infected a person. They say a person traveled to colombia between the end of december and the first of january. That person has made a full Health Officials are still stressing that the virus is primarily spread through mosquito bites. Nigel oregon standoff leader ammon bundy was indicted by a federal grand jury in portland. The indictment was against bundy, and 10 others who joined him at the occupation of an oregon wildlife refuge. No further details on the charges are available, and the indictment will remain sealed for at least 24 hours. Authorities arrested 11 people last week on a criminal complaint, charging them with felony conspiracy.
