Cnn reports the people arrested face felony charges related to their occupation. The case involving a Gloucester High School transgendered teen is inching closer to washington. Gavin grimms battle for the right to use the boys restroom goes before the Us Appeals Court in richmond today, and 10 on your side plans to be there. Rico don, katie grimms attorneys with the aclu are asking the 4th Us Circuit Court of appeals to overturn a norfolk federal judges ruling, which banned him from using the boys bathroom. Grimm was born a female, but identifies as a male. In september 2014, Gloucester County School Board Adopted a new policy, which required students their biology, not gender. Grimm said that made him feel uncomfortable, and the aclu sued on his behalf. They sought a preliminary injunction, which would have allowed him to use the boys bathroom until a possible trial, but last year a norfolk federal judge ruled against them and sided with the school board. The aclu filed an appeal and wants to the court to settle the disagreement on bathroom use policies against gender identity. Oral arguments are scheduled for later this morning and the aclu plans to hold a News Conference immediately after they leave court. The bathroom issue is far from over, even if the court rules in favor of grimm in the coming months. A republican lawmaker in the Virginia House of delegates submitted a controversial bill that would require restrooms in schools and public buildings to be used based on biology. Anyone caught using the wrong restroom could face a fine of 50 dollars. Rico bush, 10 on your side. President ial candidate donald trump got a big evangelical endorsement from Liberty University president Jerry Falwell junior. This comes a week after trumps speech at libertys convocation. We learned yesterday from the Virginia Department of health that a postive for the mosquitoborne virus. The person became infected after visiting a country where mosquitos are transmitting the virus. The Health Department says because it is not mosquito season in the us, the infected person does not pose a threat to anyone. The virus is strongly linked to cases of infants being born with birth defects. Us officials and the cdc is recommending pregnant woman not travel to countries in the caribbean and south america. We have some new details about a portsmouth mother facing charges after police say she hit her childs assistant principal. A School Resource officer at lakeview elementary arrested 43yearold Tracy Lawrence yesterday. Shes now facing assault charges. Police say she spoke with the assistant principal about her child, didnt like the answer, and then hit the administrator so hard she lost consciousness briefly. Police say no children saw the incident. Were learning new details from investigators about an american tourist in the caribbean. 39yearold Jessica Colker has ties local ties. She grew up in yorktown. Police say sunday afternoon a man attacked her and her husband on a beach in grenada. The husband reported the man had a machete. They were both attacked by this man, and the husband apparently escaped and ran and raised the alarm that his wife was in danger and she was missing. An autospy didnt not show any knife wounds on colker. Instead it said she died of a severe skull fracture. Police say a man turned himself in, and investigators are questioning him, but he is not under arrest. Meanwhile, colkers loved ones in yorktown are mourning her loss and remembering a dear friend. People in surry country are mourning the loss of a mother of three killed in a hitandrun. Christopher jackson faces charges in the death of angie cartwright. According to court records, he told police he had been drinking on december 20th. Police say 47yearold jackson hit cartwright who was walking on the side of the street, and kept going. Carwrights family says they both left the same party that night, and that jackson should not have been driving. He was told not to drive. People at the party knew that he was to drunk even my sister helped him up when he feel because he was so drunk butt to i dont want his family to hurt, but he has to pay some kind of consequences for what he did. Two people, a man and a woman, are dead and three other women are hurt following a shooting at a homeless camp in seattle last night. The police chief says she belives the shooting is not random, and the suspects targeted specific people inside the camp. So far there investigators have not made any arrests. Officers are searching for two people of interest. Happening today the fight over which bathroom to use at a local high school is heading back to federal court. Officials say restroom use was based on biology, not gender. Lawyers for the teen took the case to federal court and sought a preliminary injunction, him the okay to use the boys bathroom.
