Good morning. It is 7 00. Welcome to wusa9s extended winter storm coverage. Right now the powerful noreaster is making its way up the coast in a and a big mess is at hand in many places this morning. Yeah, snow, sleet, rain, we have seen it all. Its been falling all through the night and for some people the worst is yet to come so when you step outside you think where is it . Whats going on, its not over, folks. , plenty of it. Rain on the right side of your screen. The rainsnow mix is right over d. C. And then frederick and areas out west are pretty excited about getting some of the snow since we havent really had a lot of it this year. Im im dan zucker. Weve got all kinds of teams and neighborhoods showing you what its like in your area. Look at our big team right there. Topper shutt and melissa nord talking weather right now. We want to start with topper with an update on this forecast. Ive been here the whole time. I havent moved, really. [ laughter ] i widened this out. The storm itself is right here. Its just inland a little bit and that makes a difference and one reason we have had the mix overnight, we talk about a difference of 10 to 20 miles with the track of this storm will shift the snow line 10 to 20 miles. Good precipitation into South Carolina so we are not done with this storm by any means. In fact, we are looking probably at some pretty good precipitation through noon, maybe through 1 00 or 2 00 this afternoon. The darker blue, thats the heavier snow bands, especially rt had the mix in town, pretty good sleet going on right around northwest d. C. Here and then just some heavy rain into Southern Maryland and across the bay. Zoom in a little bit, still 32 downtown, 27 in gaithersburg and we are getting sleet and freezing rain. Rain falls liquid and freezes on contact. Current temperatures pretty critical here, 32 in leesburg, 30 in frederick and 27 in hagerstown. How much snow has fallen we will send it outside to the weather terrace with melissa. Reporter snowfall and sleet vary based on where you are. Weve got just sleet falling and this is what its been like the past, well, really five plus hours. You see that . Almost fell. Dangerous to drive. Im surprised, topper and i were talking about d. C. Public ho even if aware walking to the bus stop, slick out there. So we have got our snow stick here about 3 1 2 inches of snow and sleet combined, but this is mainly at this point sleet. We have a little bit of snow initially last night. So i want to talk about some of the snowfall totals. We have had frederick county, maryland, 8 inches of snow so far. Okay . Lots of snow there. Thats going to be where the jackpot ends up being but closer into d. C. We have had a snowfall total so far, snow and sleet combined manassas 3 1 2 inches so far, out in leesburg snowfall totals above 5 inches, in purse pursival5 inches of rain too. Thank you. Wind gusts 30, maybe 40 Miles Per Hour, heres a wind gust tracker. Wind gusting to 33 downtown but now this is a futurecast so these are temperatures, the precipitation and we are going to see a pretty good band of snow, this is 10 00 a. M. And we see snow everywhere in the metro area. Look what happens between 10 00 and noon. Everybody gets a little blast, burst of snow, and that will add another couple of inches, especially d. C. , north and west, those are your snowfall totals. Temperatures now above freezing and some rain or snow showers continue all day. I think mainly its going to be in the form of snow showers, the atmosphere is going to be cold enough to support snow even though surface temps will creep well above freezing later on tonight. We mentioned wind. We had a wind alert down for calvert county, st. Marys county and across the bay, you could see gusts 50 to 55 Miles Per Hour. That goes until 2 00 p. M. Today so the march noreaster, heavy snow mix until about 11 00 today, six and 12 north and west of the beltway. In Southern Maryland and strong northwest winds gusting 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour and staying cold which means melting and refreezing and we know what that means for the roads and just walking to get your paper each day. For more on the roads, here we are. Start with metro this morning. We have additional problems out on the green line, residual delays out to greenbelt. We had a train malfunction about 40 minutes ago now. This is going to slow you down in addition to an already slow schedule. Metro today running on a saturday schedule. Main streams coming about every 12 minutes and single tracking braddock road to van dorn. They are focused solely on clearing the snow but you still have to put up with the single tracking through that area. Metro bus, they are now on a moderate snow plan but i had someone on twitter say that still hurts me trying to get to work because it means that service is suspended roads. Its mainly your neighborhood roads, the smaller roads still hard to get around and metro access will not open back up until tomorrow. They stopped their service for today as well. Youve got to check the rain schedule first. Mark, you have to see an r by it to know that training is train is running today and the s by the train number before you know it will be running. Inner loop of 66 Traffic Camera in this area. We can see snow in between the road. The road looks okay, wet at least. Might want to watch out especially on the bridges and overpasses, i have seen a lot of trouble on the American Legion bridge a little bit north of here. We have had an accident here and i have not been able to find it on our multiple cameras on the beltway at 66. So not a lot of traffic out there. Maybe they are making their way around it is. It is over on one of the far lanes so shouldnt be blocking too much. In addition to that, back to our maps i can show you on the bottom side of the beltway also on the inner loop, an accident here you are going to be jammed into the woodrow bridge to make your way around that crash. Thanks a lot. We have crews everywhere this morning. We have them out in leesburg, burk, virginia, in gaithersburg, thats where hillary lane is there. She is live within the fire department. They are keeping very busy this morning, got to clear away the fire hydrants. Good morning. Reporter exactly. Whenever theres a big storm you always see the glances out, you see the ambulances out, you see the fire trucks out. The volunteers are busy making sure people are driving safely getting around safely and today they made sure a baby came into the world safely. A mom went into labor in her apartment locally. She looked outside, it was snowing, worried about getting to the hospital so she called 911, paramedics arrived and six paramedics helped her give birth to a healthy baby inside her apartment. We just spoke to chief pete and heres what he had to say. Come expecting unexpected really and we think we are prepared to handle anything that comes our way. I think they were up to the challenge, obviously, and they handled it well. Reporter great. Chief pete says mom, dad and baby are doing well and, mike and jen, ive been trying to brainstorm names for this baby. Maybe it will be something winterrelated like blizzard, maybe blizzardy for short blizzy for short. I like that. Reporter blizzy would probably hate his parents when he grew up. [ laughter ] those guys do so much work, especially in times like right now, you need to thank all the firefighters and Police Officers because they are risking their lives in conditions. Very good guys. We were in Montgomery County. We want to go to virginia because Kevin Mcgillivray evan is live there. What are the conditions like right now . Reporter still coming down, very wet, lots of sleet. Blizzy is a great name. No bursts here in virginia as far as we have seen but we have seen quite a lot of sleet coming down. I do have the ruler and we are at an area that has not been touched yet so its a good place to sort of check it out. Look at that. Good like five, 6 inches i heard melissa talking about 5 inches so she was right on right there. At least where we are standing. You look to our right and you will see that there are some people that are driving at this early hour but mostly we have seen just plows coming through. We are at evans ridge, its a development here in leesburg and pretty quiet right now today in Loudoun County. The roads are looking messy because it is icy and this is very wet thats coming down, sleet so its becoming ice on the roads. Definitely a reason to take it slow. Like this person is doing right here, driving very slow. Thats the message and the very latest from here in leesburg, mike, jen. Thanks a lot. Frederick county schools are also closed this morning and when we talked to Andrea Mccarren a couple times you can tell why, it was coming down sideways, the wind was blowing briskly and plenty of snow. Toss it over to andrea. Reporter mike, what a morning its been. We have gone from just pelting sleet and wind gusts and then to heavy snow and now we are back to wind again and lighter sleep. I am on Market Street in downtown frederick and as you mentioned, of course, the schools are closed, ab hour ago the city announced that all frederick offices would be closed and it looks like a ghost town here on Market Street. But a short time ago i saw a lone figure walking up the street and i stopped him. It was a young man, 22 years old and, unfortunately, homeless. His name is Antoine Vander hart and he described how it was Walking Around looking for a place to go early in the morning. Hes looking for janitorial work, cleaning somewhere. I have his Contact Information. I dont know anything about him except the fact that hes homeless, he says hes trying to get back on his feet, fend for himself. I think it would be great if somebody out there in frederick might be willing to give him a chance. So you can tweet me or facebook message me or contact somebody at the station, but it really hit home the fact that these weather conditions are horrible old, one year older than my oldest son walking on the street by himself. The snow accumulation here is pretty deep, surprisingly. You know, really the plows, you got to say, though, big shoutout to the plow drivers and the sand truck operators in the frederick area because of photo journalist Christopher Mullen and i have found, they have done a great job of cleaning up the streets here. Even some of the side streets in downtown frederick and, of course, the main roads very few accidents to report. They have been going through constantly. So lets hope they are able to keep that up and keep everything clear but, again Frederick Police still recommending anybody that doesnt need to be on the road to stay off. Sure enough, cue the cards, as soon as you say stay off the road, one is behind you. At least that person is taking it slow. A lot of folks are venturing into work right now. Lets see whats going on right now where delia is. Good morning. Reporter theres no sleeping in here in Prince Georges County and i was chuckling because folks are really creative. We saw someone with a spatula cleaning off his car. Watch the paint job, right . Because he couldnt find his spray and he had to get to work. This gentleman is using elbow grease, literally to clear off his car. How are things going today, sir . Not too bad. And whats going on . You have no gloves on, no scarf, your neck is all exposed and youre clearing off your car. Yes, thats because i didnt have a scraper so i had to do the best i could. Where are you headed . Headed to work. Youve got to get to work somehow, right youve got to do what youve got to do . Thats right. Reporter have you been driving . I havent drove for a very long time. Little slushy, slick in think its okay. Reporter im not going to keep you because you look cold. I wish i could pass on a little warmth but keep doing what youre doing, you know, we saw someone else and i tried to get them to stay and do a live shot with me, but he took off. He was dressed to the tees, he smelled nice too, i should say. He was heading to work and he was clearing off his car with a shoe, the back of a shoe waving the snow off his car, then he grabbed a bottle of alcohol, rubbing alcohol and he used it to dissolve the snow and ice from his windshield. Thats creative. Interesting tip. I tried to get him to stick around. He didnt want to stick around. He could have been a little too embarrassed. Who knows. Thats the latest. Some creative folks trying to get to work by any means necessary. Yeah. You couldtell both of us are moms bse hat and scarf. Reporter i know, i know. [ laughter ] its going to be interesting later today when our kids are out in the snow because this is that yucky, wet stuff. They are going to be all wet. Its not sledding. We have a lot of reporters out all over the place, Prince Georges, burk, virginia, so many more, the capitol, everywhere. We are going to continue our coverage right here on wusa9 snowday9. We will be right back. The rain goes all the way ba the storm itself is just sort of very close to Virginia Beach and its going to track along the delmarva and havent had time to talk about this but we are talking pretty bad beach erosion across our beach resorts through the next six hours. Now we are looking at a mixture, pretty good sleet going on right now. Sleet falls frozen, solid, bounces, freezing rain falls liquid and freezes on contact and this is snow. And this is a little heavier band of snow in blue. Heavier bands up to the north and the west and thats going to continue i think until the lunch time hour. Temperaturewise we are 32 downtown, we will say 30 in gaithersburg and 32 also in lrg leesburg. 30 in precipitation and a lot of mix, either side of 95. But then by 10 00 cold air, notice the winds, the arrows, they turn more north northwesterly, that means our storm wraps around colder air, burst of snow. By noon i think we will see a pretty good burst of snow. I agree with the futurecast here, even down into Southern Maryland this is your time to have snow between he 10 00 a. M. And noon before it begins to pull all the way away. We are going to have snow showers all day but heavy activity should end by about 2 00 across the metro area. All right. Listen, wind, here we go. Yeah, we are talking about we are worried about this. We are worried about wind gusts and wind gusts later today after we see this heavy, wet snow accumulating on some of the trees that are already heavier because of springtime outside, they have already been in bloom, this could lead to trees falling down, sporadic Power Outages. Want to take you through the forecast. Computer models as we go hour by hour from 7 00 to 8 00, 9 00 this morning, look how they start to pick up. 9 00 through noon today we will start to see wind gusts, 40, forgive miles an hour in places that are north and east of town could gust to about 50 miles an hour as approach the noon hour today. They will start to let up a little bit later. Its going to be blustery, though, throughout the overnight into your wednesday as well. The wednesday high, that means feelslike temperatures stay colder than the actual temperatures later in the workweek. Want to show you the temperatures the next three days. Look at the morning lows, down to 27 degrees tonight, 26 wednesday night, and then thursday morning also starting off down in the 20s with those places that have fresh snow on the ground, youre easily going to start out in the teens. The thaw, when does it arrive . Going to take a few days, not until the weekend when we see afternoon highs getting into the 50. Luckily, though, its march sunshine angle so hopefully with a sunny day in the afternoon by thursday. Some of the snow will really start melting. Nice to have a little break in traffic at some point your pictures and videos this morning have been coming in fast and furious, youre using the snowday9 and i think crystal has been talking to topper. She said snow day 9 finally. With a picture of snow on her back door. Daniel tweeted this, he said schools and federal government on delay. And then shoutout to meteorologist, again, happy pi day. Dont forget 3 14 it is pi day today. And eric tweeted erica tweeted us saying its mostly sleet falling right now in kentland and gaithersburg and i have a push of picture of the snow covered cars. Go out and clean off the fire hydrants and clean off your neighbors cars as well and keep the pictures coming in. We will have more coverage of our winter storm after the break. Good morning. 7 23 if youre just waking up. You can see the sort of haze in the air, rainsnow mix over d. C. Right now. North and west we are seeing significant snow up in frederick and west of that as well. Lets cue video. We have video we wanted to show you. Look at this, guys, take a look at this adorable puppy. Seeing snow for the very first time. This is going to be cool for you because sven is going to be seeing snow for the first time, right. In gaithersburg hopefully we get an opportunity to play in it today. This is pancake and pancake is a foster puppy in manassas, she was curious. They always face the snow because its cold and wet. Thanks to pancakes foster mom for sharing this video with us. She also said the pup is available for adoption from homeward trails animal rescue. Thats how easy it is for you to share your your picks, kids, dogs, what it looks like Cherry Blossoms and how are they going to with stand all of this. We have had help come in to cover this snowstorm and mike has tweeted out what a shame the Cherry Blossoms are getting pelted with ice. You can see the branches in the front there. Hopefully maybe they can hang on, guys. I dont know. Ice is not good for those and then bobby tweeted us spring snow, springtime flowers, not natures fit. Youre worried about your flowers outside your house. The daffodils are starting to bloom and you start seeing some of the vegetation start to come alive and then, boom, now we have got the freezing temperatures so hopefully they can with stand some of that and survive, right . And we got a lot more coverage coming up. Cub scouts, boy scouts, this is what you do in a snowstorm, clear out the fire hydrants in case theres firefighters can find the water source very quickly. More viewer pics, dont forget snowday9 so we can put your pics on tv. We will be right back. For all those pokers, prodders, shuckers and sniffers, [ inhales ] all giant produce is triple checked. Farm, crate, and store. Were focusing on fresh. So you dont have to guess. My giant. Good snow between about 10 00 a. M. And noon later on today. Live look outside the weather terrace, almost 3 inches here in northwest believe it or not. Send it out to melissa in the weather terrace in just a minute. Id like to show you the big picture if we could and that kind of tells the story. Its a big storm. Look at the breadth of this storm. Snowing from essentially almost boston, raining all the way down into columbia, South Carolina. Thats a pretty big storm. We will zoom in a little bit and we will tell you where the storm is itself. And it has hugged the coast a little bit and that is actually has actually changed our allowed more mixing, if you will and cut down snow accumulations west of 95. Youre going to see that mix go back to snow before all is said and done. The storm itself right along the north coast and going to move along the delmarva and then out to sea so when we say parallel, heres the storm. When it gets past or parallel over here, then winds turn, colder air moves in and then the mix going back to snow. So this is live radar, heavy snow now pushing through just west of frederick and over around leesburg, route 7 far enough past grainsville. 30 in gaithersburg, current temperatures right now 32 downtown but 32 also as far south as fredericksburg and in the 20s along the i81 corridor. So thats going to provide enough thats enough cold air to keep roads slick through the Morning Hours even into the early afternoon hours. Futurecast will take you into the 10 00 hour. Now we are looking at mostly snow in the metro area as the storm begins to pull away from us, notice the winds turning more northerly and northwesterly and then by 12 00 we have snow across the metro area and this little batch of snow, burst of snow by 12 00 will be the last hoorah. The snow totals have corridor because we have been dealing with more sleet and i want to show you if we can zoom out and i want to show you the flag thats currently behind me on our weather terrace. This flag is now frozen flag. Its blowing in the wind and winds become a concern a little bit later today. The winds will be gusting easily 35, 40 miles an hour, so that potentially in some areas leads to the potential for Power Outages or some trees coming down because we have this heavy, wet snow accumulating and those whipping winds. Okay, so lets talk about what we are expecting for the rest of the day and the snowfall totals as well. We have had snowfall totals on the terrace at about 3 inches, weve got over 5 inches in Health Care Reform in hagerstown. Frederick 8 inches of snow and continuing to go. Several more hours to come. Take things back in the studio. I think we are going to look at traffic actually. We have a metro update here. Ive been talking about delays out to the green line, greenbelt area, normal service has resumed on the green line and just as that resumes the orange line we now have delays. There was a train malfunctions and now you have delays out to New Carrollton. Youre single tracking braddock road to van dorn street, the blue and yellow lines impact. 12 minutes because we are operating on a saturday schedule. This morning ive been telling you about that tree thats been down on pennsylvania avenue heading westbound right by richie marble road. That was a tree that was down. Take a look at how many trees i have down in that area right now . All of these red markers indicate trees, limbs, things blocking the road, 301, this is four areas on 301 excuse me, three areas. And then a traffic light also out in that same area. Watch out. Thats going to be a big area to look for those tree limbs this morning. Also route 373, its closed at becker road and we have a tree limb. I have actually only seen delays as you head westbo 373, both directions are closed. If you are on kenilworth avenue wires down, southbound lanes and then i heard from our manager that theres also reports of an accident here as well. Eastwest highway is where youre going to see the wires down. And pullsville area seeing wires down in a neighborhood to the east of the city. If youre by i66 our delays look better but we have an accident there blocking the left lane. Thanks so much, ellen. Despite the fact theres very little traffic on the roadways, there are plenty of accidents and traffic to report right now with the very few cars on the road. That goes to show you how slick the roads are right now. You know, i got a text from my Daughters School yesterday around 8 00. They called it and said school is going to be closed. Almost all the schools in our area are closed because its so slick. However, d. C. Public schools on a twohour delay. Delia, we know youre in Prince Georges County. What time did you find out your kids school was closed . Reporter marleau heights, talked to the guys inside the truck for the state highway administration, they are on standby because they told me they were given the direction to standby and expect another round of snow within the hour to hit the area. This time heavy snow because of this rain that has been falling for about a good three hours, so even though branch avenue right now is down to pavement, they are expecting another snowfall to come and that will be a heavy snow. This gentleman, dave, who i just spoke to inside the truck says, yeah, its going to be a long couple of days. He will be here until thursday because we know at night conditions will worsen and could refreeze, and so crews will be working around the clock treating the roads so we can get to where we need to be safely. Back to you in the stio about the conditions in d. C. That they have been changing all morning long. You said that you got a message that your Daughters School is closed. It was closed yesterday, this is Montgomery County schools there, her school is private but the Public Schools they are closed today as well. D. C. Did not. They have a three hour delay. We are trying to get the d. C. s School Chancellor Antoine Wilson either on the phone or here in studio to talk about his Decision Making process regarding schools today and if we get that we will get him on the air as soon as possible. Also Markette Sheppard is live in Dupont Circle. Told us about her uggs and doughnut shop. Reporter i do have a doughnut because if i have to be out and youre near a doughnut shop like i am in Dupont Circle, then you got to get a doughnut and warm up your insides, right . Its all about feeling warm and fuzzy because it aint warm out here. Speaking of which if you can see the temperature behind me, we have been watching this all morning long, between 29 and 30 degrees, its going down every now and then, its not going up so we are monitoring that. Its getting a little more windy here in dupont and we are seeing some commuters actually despite all the snow delays and get doughnuts and warm up after a long bus or metro commute. D. C. Government is open two hours late today. D. C. Water is closed altogether, so the streets are really clear and its only, im guessing, essential personnel who are making the trek into the office today. If you just look right here i will end it on the Dupont Circle, nice and empty but every year people like to congregate here and have a big snowball fight once conditions are clear and its a little safer. So we will hang out here for another hour or two and i cant make any promises but i do make a mean snowball and i may be able to display the coming up later in the show. Bring doughnuts back as well. Yeah, i just want a doughnut. I just want a krispy kreme. Look at that. We have a lot more coverage coming up here on wakeup washington. The extended version an andrea roane came in and theres serious ice on her vee. We want to see what southeast d. C. Looks like. Alex chabad is there. Reporter we are getting a break from the wind right now. Just a few moments ago it was pounding us pretty hard. I think its kicking up a little bit again. One place thats popular behind me, this starbucks, this is quite busy, cant blame them either with this kind of weather. That sounds pretty good right now. I also want to give you a quick look at the roads behind me. You can see the accumulation is really starting to kick up on the roads. I would recommend some slow going on the roads because we have slid a couple of times trying to hit the brakes so we started early this morning, there wasnt much accumulation, it was more of a wintry mix. Thick, tough snow. This is hard snow here so that accumulating on the roads, got we will be monitoring the situation on the roads and Everything Else throughout the day but for now, we will send it back to you. Pretty rough out here for some people. Thanks, alex. At least hes not getting pelted in the face like he was last time. Thats improvement. Slick sidewalks too so all the kids who have to go to school in d. C. Today, again a twohour delay. Be careful as youre walking to the bus stop. Even in our own just outside our studio here we saw melissa almost fall when she was on the weather channel. And fortunately they walk to school. They dont close when the rest of the systems close. If youre walking to school, got to be careful. Are we going to weather now . Yes. We are going to weather . Yes we are. Yes, we are, says topper. Yes, we are. Heres the map and lets not panic until noon or 2 00 this afternoon. 2 00 to 6 00 downtown we have already had three in northwest d. C. , with you know to two down south. Th then six to 12 in hagerstown, Jefferson County has 8 inches so we have reports of over 6 inches along the i81 corridor either side of the i81 corridor. Lets talk about the radar and we are looking at the storm is nowhere near done just yet. We are looking at the storm itself is just around the norfolk area, going to move up and down the eastern seaboard up the seaboard, not back down it, thank you, melissa, yeah. That should be okay. Theres the storm and its a huge storm. Look at the moisture from South Carolina all the way into new york, blizzard warnings into much of the new england and we are going to get winds maybe 40 to 50 but along the coast they are looking at winds along coastal connecticut up to 70 miles an hour. Theres the storm now, going to hug the delmarva and then move out to sea. If this were 30 miles east then that rainsnow line and the mix line would be 30 miles off to the east so devil is in the deta frederick and leesburg, the darker blue thats your snow. Still a mix inside the beltway and downtown and pretty good sleet falling in northwest. Sleet falls frozen and bounces and freezing rain a pretty good band of snow between leesburg and frederick, all the activity pushing off to the north. Temperaturewise its critical. 32 leesburg, 32 downtown, about 30 or 31 in gaithersburg and 30 in frederick and only 27 in hagerstown. Mixture beginning to pull away 7 30, 8 00. And now by 10 00 we are seeing all snow west of 95 and temperatures right around freezing again. By lunchtime pretty good burst of snow, now you get snow into Southern Maryland, probably see flakes all the way into southern calvert county, i dont think theres any accumulation but you will see flakes and maybe accumulation, inch or so around by 1 00 more snow north of town and then snow showers all day but in the wake of the storm we are worried about wind, more on that, heres melissa. Winds already starting to pick up in some areas, topper and they are going to be the strongest as we go into the late morning and afternoon hours. There will be some wind gusts that are going to be over 40 miles an hour, this brings the concern for the potential for some sporadic Power Outages, some tree limbs could come down because the trees are weighted down especially northwest of town with that heavy, wet snow. Other concerns later this week after we get past the winds, got to deal with the potential for refreezing every single night. Lets go through the forecast wind gusts as we go hour by hour, 8 00, 9 00 this morning they are gusting in some spots over 40 miles an hour. We could hit a few gusts at 50. Now, the best chance of seeing those going to be northeast of town and also right along the delmarva where the wind gust of the northeaster is pulling up the coast, could be easily gusting 50 miles an hour. We go into the rest of the and the wind gusts, they are going to be gusty tomorrow afternoon as well. By the way, we talked about refreezing. Look at what its going to feel like tomorrow morning when you walk out the door, trying to get to go to work. It will feel like its in the single digit territory for places like gaithersburg, manassas across the board so everything that melts from road treatments tonight, temperatures go down again tonight, if they havent been treated roads, they are going to refreeze very quickly. Some of the main roads should be okay but we are going to have to watch out for black ice every consecutive night after this for a few days. Heres a look at the next seven days. We want to know when are we going to thaw out, how long are you going to have . How many days to play in the snow. Looks like weve got a couple of days and then back into the 50s. Our kind of weather for the weekend. We are going to get back to our kind of weather eventually. This is a look at stormtracker 9 out on the roads. I am seeing the snow is over either on the side or in the median. Its not necessarily on the areas where people are putting their tires down at least. Metro i just wa yi because this morning additional delays on the red line and orange line. The red line we had a train malfunction. Delays out to shady grove and orange line the same thing, delays out to New Carrollton in addition to your already slow traffic on the blue and yellow line and dont forget they are running on a saturday schedule today so thats trains every 12 minutes so already slower to begin with. Metro bus here was the good news of the morning, they were on a severe snow plan, now on a moderate snow plan, meaning they will be going on more roads than what they had planned before but still going to avoid those neighborhood roads and metro access remains closed. Top side of the beltway, three different accidents, one on the outer loop when you pass by connecticut and then on the inner loop by georgia and by bw parkway as well. Not creating any backups on the outer loop of the beltway by bw parkway. South of there on the inner loop of the beltway by pennsylvania route four we have low hanging tree limbs, kind of blocking part of the inner lo im not seeing a big delay but then i showed you this last time, right . 301 and all the number of trees that we have down blocking at least a lane, in some cases closing it, pennsylvania avenue right after you pass by the 301 split heading into d. C. Youre going to see a tree down as well so kind of a mess down there along 301. We will get to that and wires down as well coming up. Hey, aundrea . Good morning. We are coming up on 7 45 this morning and even if you dont have any school or you dont have to go to work, people are waking up and taking a look outside and seeing what youve been talking about all morning, all night, all morning long and so take a look at tag boards. It is snowday9. This one is from teresa still a blizzard but we have classes in d. C. D. C. Is opening on a two hour delay. Snowdayaintbad. 3 14 today is sleet than snow in about bethesda bethesda. This says i live in upper northwest near the Silver Spring line and definitely it was a little sleet pellets coming down this morning, no more snow. In fact, the snow stopped i think about 2 00 this morning. So, yeah, that was good but then chipping away. C. J. Craig, toasty warm, watching the snow. And you, mike hydeck snowday9 and he was doing what i was doing before i came and watching the two of you giving great coverage but i like that, toasty warm. And this is from isla jean stivy, not sure if im pronouncing that correctly because this is her snow day 9 picture, heavy snow in frederick, maryland just what we heard from melissa and topper that thats where the heaviest would be and look at what they have to deal with this morning. But its mostly snow so at least that wont be coated with a layer of ice which makes it again harder to banks taylor. I guess no one told the three trees and if you can see in this picture, those three trees are toppled. They are down and she has got the, i like this, findingatway. We want you to send us your pictures at snowday9. Keep them coming and we will keep you updated on the forecast all morning long. Right now lets go to melissa nord, she has more on the weather. That last picture from waldorf tells a tale. All of our trees because we are in midmarch, they have already started blooming, they are already heavier. Waldorf and Charles County you have been dealing with freezing rain and sleet. What thats doing is its adding the freezing rain, a layer of ice weighing down the trees even more, add in the 30, 45 membership mileperhour wind gusts, bam thats why you have trees falling down. Talk about some impacts city by city, what you can expect for the rest of today. Starting out with d. C. , the roads right now, depending on where you are, its slushy, its slick out there because we have been dealing with sleet. So its not going to be snowpacked roads that you can easily drive on. Going to be more slick. The heaviest sleet continues as we go throughout the next few hours this morning. Then theres going to be a good band of snow moving through 11 00, noon today. At that point we could pick up some quick accumulations of snow. Total sleet and snow, two to 5 inches. We have already got 3 inches out on the weather terrace. Waldorf, we were talking about that freezing rain. We just showed you the photo of the trees falling down. This is the concern, wind gusts in waldorf will easily be 35, 40 plus miles an hour. Power outages cant be ruled out in waffle dorf, trees down waldorf, trees down, its going to happen. Its going to happen around lunchtime today batch of snow moves through. For the most part its been ice for you, freezing rain and sleet. Hagerstown, snow city, snow totals easily pushing over 10 inches in some spots near hagerstown and frederick, heaviest snow continues through 11 00 a. M. This morning, dangerous snow covered roads, winds there also gusting 40 miles an hour. You have seen Andrea Mccarren out in frederick this morning, similar to hagerstown, the winds blowing around, thats going to be blowing around some of the snow around as well so visibility levels are reduced driving in that snow. Fredericksburg down to the south in virginia, you have not been seeing as much from this winter storm. Your snow totals will be less than 2 inches but you have seen sleet, you have seen freezing rain this morning as well so still slick, slushy, slushy especially side rides will be likely this morning, a little burst of light snow moving through before or around lunchtime. May not get quite as far south as fredericksburg but you will likely see a couple of flurries system tries to pull out of here into the afternoon so theres a lot to talk about in terms of this winter storm and we are still going. Weve got continuous coverage coming up for the rest of the morning. What are we up to next, guys . We are going to send things back to jen and mike. Yes, we are getting stuff on social media tweets and Facebook Messages from all of you. Got friends texting me pictures right now. In many ways this stuff is worse and more dangerous than regular snow because its icy and its messy. And i feel bad for the kids who were so excited to go out and play if it starts to get all wet and stuff, not a whole lot of fun. Hopefully in some places you can get out and enjoy. We are all over the area right now. We want to go to burk, virginia where or janice park is right now. Reporter a few inches of have fallen overnight but right now its more of a hail than a snow. This is why Fairfax County schools completed all of their activities by 6 15 monday or the snow steadily fell since monday night and the School System in Fairfax County announced around 8 30 p. M. That all schools and offices would be closed today. A lot of kids waking up rei rejoicing, im sure. You dont have to worry about yourself but also your pets, they can is suffer from frostbite or hypothermia. Make sure they dont at a too long out in this weather. Our coverage here on wusa9 and wakeup washington continues as this storm starts to move out but its going to be sticking around for quite a while longer. Yeah. Remember welcome to wusa9 extended winter storm coverage. Right now a powerful noreaster making its way up the coast and boy is it bringing a big mess weth it. Falling all through the night and for some people the worst is still yet to come. Welcome, thanks for joining us. Im jan jeffcoat. We are here to get you through this powerful storm that is slamming our region right now. Starting off the top with meteorologist melissa nord who is continuing to track your snow totals and the continues right now. Melissa. And the snow, yeah, its continuing, we have not only got snow but weve got freezing rain, sleet, rain, we are seeing a wide variety, a plethora of different types of Winter Weather out there. The heaviest snow, one band of heavy snow, its right along frederick, eastern frederick county, moving towards Carroll County here. We have been in the sleet zone along the 95 corridor, washington, d. C. , down into eastern Prince William county as well but some colder air will be pushing in from the west as we go throughout the next several hours so by lunchtime a little burst of snow possible right in d. C. , theres that heavier snow band right along i270, i70, right in frederick county, in that band of snow we probably haom miles an hour. Heres a big picture. Long duration storms, just getting going, working its way up through the jersey coastline, new york and into boston as well and heres what we are expecting for snowfall totals, weve got the sleet numbers that are cutting down on the total snow and sleet combined because its packing down the snow and its also not allowing that snow to accumulate. Six to 12inch range, thats what we are expecting frederick, leesburg, winchester. In d. C. Its been mainly sleet. We already have 3 inches of snow on the weather terrace and we will have the possibility 11 00, noon today to see a good wave of snow coming through, it will put down probably another inch or so of snow. Not much of the way of snow in the southeast but the freezing rain in parts of charles c county, thats been a concern. Power outages possible, trees possible coming down. Send things over to ellen. We have got trees on the road wires coming down, a mix of everything, 301 littered with tree debris this morning so thats an area to watch out for and pennsylvania avenue even at the beltway, pennsylvania and the beltway theres reports of low hanging tree limbs hanging over the beltway in that area as well. Want to get to a new crash i270 as you head southbound, see if my clicker is working this morning. Right when you hit route 80, its actually your northbound lanes but seeing the same kind of delays in both your north and southbound lanes on 270. And then close to there is one of the areas where we have wires that are down that have closed down fischer road. You know fisher road where it becomes whites ferry road, all morning we have had the wires down, closed down this area. You can tell my traffic sensors dont even pick up how traffic is doing on the roads so this is going to impact mainly that neighborhood. Watch out if youre in that area. Also kenilworth area, this will have a wider reach of wires down, southbound lanes shut down right between eastwest highway and also had about half an hour ago reports of another crash in this area so watch out for traffic and those wires and crews that are out there trying to fix all this and pick up that accident. Dulles airport i just saw an update from them. They are trying to clear their Center Runway to try to get flights out today. Most of their flights cancelled this morning. They are trying to get some out later today but working to clear the runway and if you have a flight from national airport, earlier they said their runways were fine, i havent seen an update from them in about an hour but they were working to clear that to get some of their morning flights out even. Check with your airline because we know a lot of these flights are cancelling today even if they are able to get that runway clear. And we are on the move, stormtracker is out there, stormtracker 9. Larry miller joining us live. Where are you, larry . Good question. [ laughter ] reporter i dont know. We are out in gaithersburg this morning, you know, we had the opportunity to drive up i270 on the northbound side, vi way up towards frederick. Its interesting there were or gaithersburg was really messy, it was really hard we saw quite a few cars out there on the southbound side but if folks can stay off the road, i suggest you do. A lot of work still needs to be done out here. They are going to bring the salt trucks out here but i want to show you at least one of the salt trucks that is out here this morning and youre going to see massive trucks like this dropping off salt. So [ audio difficulty ] having trouble with larrys microphone. Want to toss it over to hillary. She has been in gaithersburg all morning. On 3355, bed bath beyond. She was telling us about an amazing story about firefighters who helped deliver the baby because of the storm because the mom wasnt sure if she wago what an incredible story that was, hillary. Reporter working here all morning trying to get in touch with the mom and in touch with the dad. We want to meet that baby and want to show you that march snow baby. That would be so cool. But in the meantime we are out here, of course, and the snow has really picked up, its almost like you can see the plows have been busy on 355 trying to clear for all the people. You started your journey at quarter to 6 00 this morning. Tell me what happened to you. I waited for the bus that was cons after a half hour i figured out the bus wasnt coming. I started to walk towards tinley town metro, halfway there i hopped in the cab, cab to the tinley town metro, metro to shady grove and i found the cab at shady grove which brought me to the nt wondering why mike isnt in a chair with a dentist in his mouth right now. You got to the Dentist Office and what happened . Well, i got there early, so its not open but i i bet its open now. Reporter when you first got there it was closed so you were hanging out in Dunkin Donuts. Have you found out if the dentist is going to be able to see you yet . No, but im sure he will. Reporter if he doesnt, are you going to find a new dentist after all that or well, ive been with him a long time. I will stick with him. Stay warm. I hope your appointment goes well. No root canals, i hope. We are going to stay out here, this rain, it freezing rain, snow pellets has picked up. We are going to continue to monitor the situation and be back in just a little bit with an update. Back to you guys. If he got out there in all that, that dentist better be there for him. Who cares about his teeth, right . Reporter thats what i said. He said he was worried. He tried the door and the door didnt open. I just hope the dentist shows up for him after all that. Very trusting. Thank you, hillary. We want to go to evan who is live in leesburg and working on building a snowman for us. I know he had troubles before but youve had time to work on it now, evan. Yeah, how is it going, guys . I decided to just leave the snowman behind. We are doing something totally different now. Im focusing on the roads after all. That what we are going to be facing for the most part, right . Im here at the headquarters for vdot and here is ellen who is going to tell us about how its been so far. We have had crews on since last night and they are continuing to work 24 hours a day essentially in 12 shower shifts. [ switching captioners ] lucky for us we have regional domes that have tens of thousands of sultanate but as you can see theyve been working hard and making a dent in the road other trucks are coming in to be loaded with the pretty active environment here. Before i sent it back to you will get one last check of the consistency of the snow this is untouched here, we are looking at four or five inches of snow here its pretty soft rate here but it hardens up pretty quick as well. This looks like its snowman level so maybe ill use that. No matter how much snow you have right now, some snow totals have diminished a little bit whats happened here . Its wet, its heavy it can weigh on trees and power lines, you have to be careful with that as far as outages are concerns. A lot of people are sending us pictures, one on to tell us about that . If the parents of the march no baby could send us a picture we would love that. Snowday9. Lets take a look, her twitter handle is Cruise Travel lady, she says the weather outside is frightful, snowday9 , this is her deck not i have very not a heavy layer of snow or ice but something definitely to talk about. This is nicole, snowday9 beautiful shot of the light reflected in the snow and it just gives off that eerie glow on it. Think you are nicole. Thank you nicole. She said there is the dog outside going for it looking for a place to go, february was spring and marches winter, thats virginia weather phoria for you. Its a Winter Wonderland for sure. I love this one, take a look at what martinis sent in, not quite sonoma get in from your few years back. But enough for snowday9. Definitely keep those pictures coming in, i think i have one more for you lets see. Yes, this is from avi greetings from alexandria, hashtag say makes it difficult to get traction be careful, take a picture and send it to us the hashtag is snowday9. We love to share your pictures with all the viewers. Thanks andrea, the fighter failure firefighters and police are risking their lives to take care of us, she posted this on her Facebook Page. All healthcare workers have to go to work when everyone else closes, the hospital is still open please remember hospital staff. Big shout out to everybody there. Yeah we appreciate that. Everybody is still working because the snow is coming down rapidly. Andrea mccarren was on Market Street last time where are you now . Most schools are closed in our area, on a twohour delay children will be walking to school, to the bus stop or to the metro to get to school, please be careful. Right now, its slippery, its county. I knew at 8 pm that my Daughters School is closed, when did you know your kids schools closed . Reporter we know that dc Public Schools usually is the last system to announce delays or closures. Of course, i learned as all of you learned early this morning that we were delayed posted it on our schools Facebook Page. Last night among posted my daughters bff audrey, sorry audrey, she tried really hard she wore and backwards last night. Your kids reporter so theres that twohour delay, we just talk to a woman who worked at dc Public Schools who just caught the bus because we know the metro buses are only traveling on these main thoroughfares. Branch avenue here, in good shape down to the pavement, we have crews from state highways on highway standby. They have been here for some time, they are getting their catnap and because it will be a long day and night ahead. They are expecting another round of precipitation. Mike and i, we were standing out here what is it doing as it is it raining is its leading . Something like falling from the sky. At this point its like an icy type of freezing rain. Speaking of ice, take a look at this. Tree branches here, we know that that can be treacherous when you consider the thick ice coat could be accumulating on the wires as well. Prepare for any outages, power crews are suggesting you keep supplies stocked up at home and your mobile devices fully charged and may be battery operated lights as well. Walking on the sidewalk, treacherous as well. It started out as snow then it turn to sleep then it turned to rain, back to sleep an hour hearing we could get another round of snow. A mixed bag of precipitation causing treacherous conditions, walking at least here in print Prince Georges County. Im curious, your kids are getting ready to go to school soon what do you think that theres just a twohour delay. Reporter i think a twohour delay is appropriate, if you consider many of the side roads, could be getting turned over at this point but as we said the sidewalks still a little dicey, a lot of kids do lock walk a lot of kids in my neighborhood will be driven to schools as well, they coded the sidewalks and the sidewalks around the school anticipating this kind of work hoping the custodial crews can come in and clear the walkway for the kids i talk to a teacher who is waiting at the bus stop and some twohour delays parents have to make a decision whether or not they are going into school. For instance my daughters daycare is cold, but the two oldest their school is open. Appearance conundrum, what do you do with your kids when you still have to work. All our husbands are the Unsung Heroes today. We have more coverage coming up including power outage totals. Please say that please send us your pics and use some have it, some dont. When the odds are stacked against you, you either hide or stand up. At Strayer University weve seen it in our students for 125 years. And if you ever think of quitting, our success coaches will be there to pick you up and work with you every day to put you on the right path. Its time. Strayer university. Lets get it, america. Welcome back to wake up washington, i want to get you a look at some of the Traffic Cameras because a number of accidents are building entries and trees and down. We learn the driver got out of this accident but there was fire and they are on the scene trying to clear it up. They have called tow trucks close to their, another problem by the springfield interchange. If you are heading around that interchange, the first problem is on the righthand lane on the other side of the beltway if you are heading north on 395. A little south of there as well, the express lanes are blocked. On one 98, we have a cart stuck car stuck. You cant see on the camera you can tell how bad the roads are. You could see how someone could slide off. This is the 301 on route five, ive been talking about this route for the last hour. We have about 10 different places where tree limbs and tree branches are blocking the streets. Also route 50, close to 410, we have had a closure all morning close to here. There are wires that are hanging down in that area. Appear by representative up here by route 175, bw parkway northbound at 175, go further east and you will find a tree that is blocking 175 if you had west near oakton road. Its completely blocked, you can get by in the direction, in addition to that i have a lot of cameras like this one, icicles hanging down. A lot of crews are out there, take it easy weve had trouble with metro, delays on the red and orange line, we will get to that. Larry miller is out on the roads, with the Storm Tracker nine, i think . Larry are you there . Okay his life shot froze. We are checking the outage, we are seeing at some of our viewers can help. It says there are more than 50,000 people without power. Petco is reporting on the outage map, a little over 3000, if you are in the part of Northern Virginia and you have your power out but you can see us on the app, can you reach out to us . Not only that we anticipated ice on the power lines, in fact ellen reported on power lines that were reporting situations. This is the heavy wet stuff, yucky, messy and dangerous. The kind of ice that can cause these Power Outages. We are going to get an update from dominion power in virginia and maryland. Lets go to frederick maryland, joining us life. Do you see any joining us life do you see any andrea . Know, its a very light snow but its the wind that continues to be the story out here, no sleet at all the winds, take a look at some of these signs flapping we are on west patrick street right no not a single business is open. With the exception of gas stations in a couple of convenience stores, everything is close. Even the starbucks up the road. None of the fast food restaurants are open. Really the only people who are out our snowplow drivers, sam truck operators emergency personnel, sadly homeless. Reporter i was just in a wawa market, there was a woman sitting on the floor and i asked her if she was okay and she said she was fine but she could not get a. She was 18 years old, homeless and trying to get to her grandmothers house. Weve also learned that the area shelters require people to leave at 7 am. We are finding quite a bit of people wandering the streets i its sad to see you can see im with photojournalist Christopher Mullen, i do not know there is traffic but you see the squalls across the street the snow just kicking appear. You can also see quite an accumulation lets come around this way, i want to show the build up from the plows here. It really it is very very study both the wind and the snow, we will move locations going to thurmont next to see what we can see there. Until then thats the story here, high winds continuous snow, no more sleep. Thank you andrea, weve got word from our producer that more than 50,000 from dominion power without power, 11,500 from smith co. , 3300 from petco. Seems like the number continues that can bring down the power lines. We will continue to see this issue throughout the day. King george county, they are getting hit hard. More coverage coming up, we have reporters welcome back, we continue our extended coverage of the storm, power from dominion, just got a note from larry on my Facebook Page that he lives in waldorf and the power went out as well. They should be back on soon. Larry miller is joining us live from Storm Tracker nine, larry . Reporter we are making our way northbound, want to give you a look at the Road Conditions you can see what we are seeing. You are still seeing the snow and ice, a lot of the bulk of the snow has been pushed to the shoulders but is still slick out here. The temperatures the way they are it doesnt look like it will ease up much. We had the opportunity to speak with a couple snow Truck Drivers asking them about what its been like for them its been around the clock for the last 48 hours one man i spoke with, said he dropped multiple loads of surrounding areas, he said his truck carries about 20 ton terms of salt and hes dropped four truckloads thus far. It has been aroundtheclock efforts, want to give you a look at behind us, not a lot of cars on the northbound side, more traffic on the southbound side headache towards heading towards the capital beltway. Its touch and go on to 70, rockville is better, germantown was a bit dicey, as we had towards urbana, we dont know what to expect but any indication here, its hard to see the road because we are seeing more ice than anything. We know the pretreatment started on sunday, they have been out here throughout the past few days trying to get ready for the storm. They say they will be here after as well. The best advice, stay off the roads, stay in the house, netflix and hang out with family. Benge watch right . Watch us. Thank you so much. Can deteriorating Road Conditions. We are live in leesburg right now, he talked to somebody from vdot. How are the roads in Loudoun County . Reporter hey there guys, larry had it right when he said stay off the roads. It is looking messy out there, these people that are going to be on the roads, will be these folks right here. The pile drivers here, this is tommy, whats it looking like right now on these roads . Its pretty much, coming down pretty good the roads are definitely a lot of accumulation on the roads and we are still plg. The snow stops and will put some chemicals out. Reporter a lot of times people think we shouldnt drive on the roads because its not safe, but they also get in your way. Thats true, but we just if they can stay in their lane and see us coming, and they can get to another lane it would be great. That we can come back through later if you could get over that would be great. Reporter describe how it feels out there right now for the people who are home watching netflix right now . How does it feel out here . Its cold, temperatures are still strong hopefully this will let up at sometime and we can get out there and get them cleaned up good and sprayed good. Reporter thank you so before it felt like sleet, it would hit you in the face and it was hard, its softer now lets get one more check in this area of what its looking like with my ruler. Ive been overusing it today, five or six inches here, at this once per spot right here. You can never overuse that. We know its changing rapidly, a continues to fall evan, look how much it is falling right now. Thank you evan. The Power Outages have been a real issue, fullscreen here, 2700 from pepco, they are up near 4000 at pepco. 3968 according to their website. Dominion, thats part of Northern Virginia, 8900 outages. This heavy wet snow is making an impact hopefully we can get things back up and running quickly. We are trying to get someone from pepco or old dominion. Hopefully will get someone after the break. Snowday9, thank you blair for sending that in. Look at this one, dj fire all snow here, over eight inches and more coming, snowing hard at this time. That was earlier in the morning. We dont know if things have let up but it was difficult there and thats where melissa said we would see some of the heaviest bands of snow. This from jean wu, not a whole lot in terms of snow, just a couple inches but sleep and ice , i dont know where exactly jean is showing us the picture but this is what most of the area closer to the dc in this part of i95 are seeing. A couple inches of snow and an icy layer on it. This is from joe, going to work in georgetown at 7 45 am, washington dc does close down with just a little snow, no kidding joe right . Heres another one i think youll like mike, beautiful dog there its hard to get work done from home when this phase is where your laptop should be. Dog lovers we all know that that is usually what we get from our pets. Again the hashtag is snowday9 , instagram to go to work . Many of you dont so if you can get out safely, take pictures and send them to us. Would like to share them. Snowday9. Back to you. We do love puppies in the snow this is his first chance to see snow. And if you need extra motivation because up to your last year of classes could be on us. Thats right. On us. Today is the day. Strayer university. Lets get it, america. Welcome back to our extended coverage, as we head through the morning there is a radar that tells the story. Things are starting to inch their way towards the eastern seaboard. May be in the coming hours dc will get a break. It a bit of a change since 4 am, little more yellow and pink but now were seeing green. The white is dissipating a little its not going to end until right before noon. There will indeed be a snowball fight at some point this morning. 10 am. 10 am, but be careful because things will be wet and slippery as well. My has been just texted me and said this is worse than the snow because its messy and icy and dangerous. Its hard to walk and drive on. Its not going to go away for a while. Wed much rather have powdery snow, but this was never in the cards. Travel in packs for hagerstown, heavy snow until noon, dangerous snowcovered roads up there, winds will cost over 40 Miles Per Hour, 810 inches near hagerstown. Eight inches round romney. Theres pictures of the storm, hugging the coast right now, precipitation back in the carolinas and this will move along the coast at moderate to severe rearranging on the shore. Wins on the shore will be 50 Miles Per Hour no problem. Heres the mix, the white is overtaking the magenta its turning back to snow as the storm moves northward. Snow in leesburg and frederick and westminster. Amick still in town. Like to occasionally moderate snow, Westminster North of i70. Futurecast, 10 00 today theres the snow creeping across i95, noon is your best chance for snow and Southern Maryland, temperatures above freezing by 2 pm left over snow showers and the metro, above freezing by 6 00 with left over snow showers. Snowfall totals, six inches towards jefferson, that was as of 6 am, and inch and mouth mount vernon, quantico, wind gust with an inch. With snuff snow pics with melissa. All things across the board, i want to talk about what we will see in terms of concerns later today with what is falling. Lets go over here, lets look at this tree over here. You see these icicles warming, these are the photos forming, these are their photos, this will lead to trees falling down, they are way down from the ice its only a matter of time before they start to fall. Heres a closeup, this is what we are seeing you zoom out and a tree is lets talk about these wind gusts and when they will be the worst. When gus between 25 and 35 Miles Per Hour as we go through the rest of the morning, we could have when gus at 9 00 that will be 3540 Miles Per Hour. That strong trend noreaster will be gusty through noontime, still gusting 3540 Miles Per Hour in the afternoon. This is a concern. Temperatures that come after today, they will be cold each night with refreezing on the roads. Right . Thats right, its unusual to have cooled before and cold after, cold temperatures for the rest of the week, it will produce refreezing each night and strong wind, 3040 miles per ho this is going to be an ongoing problem through the morning and afternoon, winds will increase. Heavy snow mix is possible through 1 pm today. We send us your pictures, snowday9. We want to check on the Power Outages now nope. Traffic first. It is a mess. You look oddly tall right now [ laughter ]. A giant, i always say i am taller i feel like a giant all the time. Okay, lets get to metro, a train malfunction and disabled train, both lines are delayed in both directions, about 10 minutes ago the redline started single tracking as well.
