This tractor trailer was toppled like a toy. The twister struck around dinner time no sirens, little warning. Wow, you were right here. The tv was sitting there and we were watching the news. Reporter Earl Hagemeyer says he and his wife had to run for their lives after looking out a window and seeing the tornado bearing down on their house. So we made a dive for the basement. We got in the basement and it came through. Reporter you ran down the basement you barely made is down and the storm comes and took the roof off. I was in about three minutes of having it happen. It wasnt long. This is the worst day of my life. Reporter bay daylight, rescue crews went house to house looking for possible victims. In the nearby town of rochelle, firefighters were called in to dig people out of rubble that used to be a restaurant. Customers and employees were eating and had to make a dash to a cellar just before the tornado ripped the building apart. Raymond kramer was among them. When it hit definitely, we knew it hit. In california today the San Bernardino county sheriff has suspended 10 deputies after a suspect was brutally beaten. It was captured on video, and the f. B. I. Is investigating. Heres carter evans. Reporter these were the final moments of the threehour police chase when 30yearold Francis Pusok was knocked off a stolen horse. It was caught on camera by knbc in los angeles. Suspect being tased. Reporter Authorities Say the taser was inefficientive, so deputies immediately started kicking and punching pusock, even though he was lying facedown with his hands behind his back. They struck him at least 50 times for more than two minutes. Pusocks booking photo shows some of the injuries to his face. Jim terrell is his attorney. There was not a need for a hit or a kick. Jamie slager is eight and a half months pregnant. Slagers Attorney Says hes being held in an Isolation Unit for his own protection. His mother told us shes worried. Hes a wonderful person. Hes very sharing very caring. He and his wife are having a baby very shortly. Im anxious about that. He wont be there for the birth so im worried about her.
