heard at home. this was the scene outside of the white house. the people want the white house to call for mubarak to leave office. the state department wants to make sure that americans are not caught in any violence that may flairup with the protests. >> surae chinn has that story. >> reporter: the state department has issued a voluntary departure for all americans stuck in egypt. the planned evacuations are happening right now in egypt. as a matter of fact, the first chartered flight with the americans will land on the island of cyprus at any moment now. the u.s. government wants to keep the americans as safe as possible and make sure they are not caught up in the violent clashes. the federal government says the u.s. citizens currently in egypt should leave as soon and safely as they can while obeying the government's imposed sure few. the airports and other communication are taxed right now and so is getting information through phone services. but countries sent planes to egypt yesterday to help with the evacuations o. officials will continue to fly the u.s. citizens out of the country to destinations in europe today. >> we are working closely with the egyptian government to ensure the safety of american citizens, and we have authorized a voltarian departure, and we are reaching out to the american citizens, and as i'm speaking to you at this point, thankfully we don't have any reports of any american citizens killed or injured. we want to keep it that way. >> reporter: and any family members trying to get in touch with loved ones abroad should contact the u.s. they have been in the dark since wednesday's snowstorm. we caught up with these crews working sunday night in north bethesda. they were able to get the lights lights lights and her important -- lights and more importantly the heat back on for dozens of homes. parishioners of the church destroyed by the large water main break in capitol heights found a way to hold service. they were hit with millions of gallons of water it destroyed the building, but a fellow pastor helped out and invited the congregation to his church. >> when i saw on the news what had happened to the church, my heart went out to her and the congregation. >> the only thing, actually, even to now, that has gone through my mind, i just thank god that we were not there in worship. >> pastor stratford says her church has gotten many donations and plans to move through the church to a place that does not have a water main through the parking lot. a virginia lawmaker wants to stop the commonwealth from getting any more red light cameras. the bill would stop any new cameras from being installed after july 1st. it was last june the cameras were turned back on years after they were shut off. the lawmakers says maryland governor mark o'malley has harsh words for the utility company. his letter says despite earnest promises, numerous press releases and a 6-point plan, family in the state woke up for a third morning in a row to a dark house with pepco advising that service would be restored by 11:00 p.m. tomorrow night, five days in the dark is simply not acceptable. the governor wants a state investigation into the power outages. prince william public county school students have class today. today. they were supposed to have it off for a teacher's workday, but it's been moved to thursday. students will get report cards on february 10th instead of the 7th. there's signs of normal life in cairo this morning. the subway is open, and trash collection is back underway. we may see and his government have been an important partner to the united states. >> a statement from mubarak was read on egyptian television last night. he wants the prime minister to bring political reform. there the egyptian officials have not said exactly are where mubarak is right now. the state department in washington is make sure the american tourists in egypt are safe. right now it means getting moving in tonight into the overnight and tomorrow morning. we head north of i-70 with the winter storm watch in effect late tonight through wednesday morning. you can get the extended period of sleet and freezing rain. today's momslikeme.com expended bus forecast, it's a cold one out. there the temperatures in the low 30s. carroll county, westminster, the areas are very cold. readings up there are running in the teens, and even some upper single digits. 32 by 9:00. in town, mostly cloudy skies. a northeast wind at 8, and the northeast wind with clouds and 33 at 5:00. the temperatures will not move much. the cold i'm talking about. gaithersburg, and york, pennsylvania, at 3 right now, and this has sunk down into frederick and northern baltimore county. we are hanging on to the upper 30s. mid-30s for fredericksburg. national is 31. feeling like 21 thanks to the brisk, northeast wind at 14 miles an hour. that will give us the windchill there. the dew point in the low0s. the artic air, montana, north dakota, much of montana, white and pink. well below 0. the arctic air will move south. for us, it will bring the jet stream up, and the next storm will travel from texas up to the northwest, and parts of the mid-west, missouri, to illinois, to chicago and detroit. new hampshire, and vermont, this is just coming into arkansas it will come across the south and crank a big storm over the next few days. there will likely be blizzard conditions across missouri and illinois. the travel will be disrupted big time when you consider chicago could get one foot to a foot and a half or two on the upside of the snow from the storm. that will disrupt things horribly. the high pressure pulling away. mostly cloudy through midday. overcast at 5:00. snow or mix to the west here. by 10:00, much of that is north and west of dc. overnight, snow, sleet, and freezing rain developing with the icy mix in the pink areas but they are light amounts it doesn't take much sleet or freezing rain to cause problems but the snowfall totals, a couple of tenths, and maybe the rain fall totals here or a freezing rain total of a few hundred. to the north, we have the winter storm batches there, and look at the rain coming in towards wednesday. some very warm air to the south, and i think wednesday we will push the temperatures to the 50-degree park. -- 50-degree mark. into tomorrow morning, the temperatures into the mid-30s, although tomorrow night into wednesday morning, up north, you can see the wintery mix. wednesday mild, snow possible on saturday. monika. >> we are starting with the
