common drugs that can help your sex drive. it's the first tornado i've ever seen. >> plus wild video from inside the andrews air force base. now the photographer explains the chaos. and tonight the death toll from those devastating tornadoes around the south has risen. 290 victims across six states. most of the deaths in alabama where right now firefighters are searching one splintered pile after another hoping to find any signs of life. >> but tomorrow the task becomes even more grimm. they're using cadaver dogs to search through the debris. many were told the tornadoes were coming up to 24 minutes ahead of time, but the twisters were too wide, too powerful and too fast. >> i have never seen anything like this in my life. >> i walked over here last night and i just -- i just couldn't comprehend it. >> alabama's governor has now declared a state of emergency and is going to be meeting with president obama tomorrow to survey more of the damage and meet with some storm victims. the governors of mississippi and georgia also issuing emergency declaration for parts of their state. back here at home after hours of our own severe weather, we did escape almost untouched. we did have some reports of damage over in the shenandoah valley. >> and tonight a thrill seeker who caught the tornado touching down shared his story with us. he spoke to ken molestina joining us live outside the base right now. ken. >> reporter: derek and anita, this self proclaimed amateur tornado chaser was following a dark cloud when according to him he was able to capture what he's calling the money shot. >> it came up on base about 25 or 30 minutes before the tornado actually happened. >> reporter: then the sirens went off inside his head. a 21-year-old air force airman quickly grabbed his camera and headed towards the storm. >> i know it's not the best idea, but how often do you get a twister in dc. i wanted to be a part of it and get it captured. >> reporter: and that's eactually what he did. you can see in his video the twister came straight at him. it brought with it furious winds and blew debris all over. >> it came at pretty good force. >> reporter: however, others weren't as lucky as the storm chaser. the staple storm also devastated parts of shenandoah county in virginia. the trail of destruction stretch for about 23 miles long. one farmer's farm was gutted at the time. despite the obvious power and danger packed into a twister, this storm chaser said he would do it all over again in a heartbeat. >> this was the first tornado i've ever seen and i hope it's not the last. i had a good time. >> reporter: well, there were two minor injuries reported out at the area where the twisters hit out at shenandoah county area of virginia. as here on base, nobody was hurt. no reports of anybody hurt here. there were, however, according to our storm chasing friend, a lot of downed trees. we're outside the air force base, ken molestina, 9news now. >> and to wusa9.com. a family dealing with the murder and apparent dismemberment of their daughter now has to face this reality. her remains will never be returned for burial. a judge has ruled authorities do not have to search for those remains which gary nurenberg reports are most likely lost in a garbage dump near richmond. >> reporter: police believe she was attacked in this apartment house, i am prisoned there, murdereded and dismembered before being trucked to a landfill similar to this one. a judge ruled this week police do not have to search for her body. >> the majority of the family we're really upset about it because they feel like we really ain't going to have no peace. >> reporter: he wears pictures of her on her shirt. family members wore similar shirts to court. but wants a more lasting memorial. a place even without her body. >> so we can just feel comfort for her. something that we can just say, okay, we lay flowers here for you. we love you. >> reporter: she is helping raise latisha's daughter, diamond. >> if you see the pictures we have together, my daughter looked just like that. diamond look just like her mother. that brings a smile to my face. i live through her now. that's what i have to stay strong for her. >> reporter: with the wisdom forged in pain. >> she's wondering where her mother is but she knows now she's in heaven. i just say just love your loved ones while you have them. >> reporter: police have argued that it could cost millions to search through tons of garbage to find the body with little chance of success and argued that it was simply too dangerous to try. six persons have now been arrested in latisha frazier's murder. derek. a court ordered psychiatrist has determined serial stabbing suspect is not legally insane. that he is competent to stand trial. he is suspected in two stabbings and a hammer attack last year in leesburg. he is currently in custody in michigan where he faces three murder charges and six assault charges involving still more cases of stabbing. well, there was plenty of intrigue brewing around what the redskins were going to do with the 10th overall pick in tonight's nfl draft. it turns out they did what many expected. brett haber is live at redskins park with more on that. brett. >> reporter: well, derek, for years we've seen the redskins go for the flashy move and they had a chance to do that tonight. no month quarterback blaine gabbert fell down to the 10th spot. but uncharacteristically, the redskins resisted the urge to go for the flash and they made the savvy move trading down. they picked ryan kerrigan with the number 16 selection. the 6-foot 4, 263 pounder out of purdue led the big ten in sacks two years in a row. he can play multiple roles. and so the skins get an extra pick in the second round and yet a defensive stud. >> this is a guy that is relentless. a lot of tackles behind the line of scrimmage. forced fumbles. just a guy that hustles and makes plays. and you always like those guys. at least i like the guys that are overachievers. >> reporter: and, yes, those are boo s that you're hearing. no, they weren't for any of the players. they were for the commissioner who was showered with negative reaction in new york tonight when he came to the podium and heard chants of we want football, we want football as the fans stew over the labor issue and the haven't been in the mood. >> many common drugs, even over-the-counter, are robbing men of their sex drive. the problem and wo ibido. that is coming up. in our health alert tonight, a loving couple who does everything together now facing an often unspoken problem. the husband recently found out his medication may be stopping his sex drive. they agreed to talk to us about this sensitive issue and what they planned to do about it. >> it has changed myself life dramatically. again, two years ago we were having sex three to five times a week. >> reporter: ken and peggy have been married for 29 years and pried themselves on a life filled with passion. but about a year ago he went on a pill for attention deficit disorder. he believes the medication is one reason passion in the bedroom started to sizzle. >> i know when i'm sitting in the chair at the computer at 11:00 at night because i just don't feel like confronting peg. and that feeling is not normal feeling. >> reporter: he says his doctor never told him drugs can be a culprit for low libido. >> unfortunately the medical community we see a don't ask, don't tell policy where physicians really just aren't asking about sexual function. >> reporter: a doctor with georgetown univery hospital mentions four different types of drugs that can stop sex drive. medications to treat high blood pressure, those for allergies like anti-histamine, and some more mental health issues. >> i started reading up about the drugs i am on. it talks about that male patients can suffer like a low sex drive. >> my first recommendation would be to try to change the medication that is causing the problem or contributing to the problem. >> reporter: but ken says it's the only adhd drug that is safe for him. and he's staying on it. >> we used to joke around that 4:00 in the morning was prime time. so it got to the point where sometimes i would want to wake up at 4:00 in the morning because if his blood sugar was good, i knew we'd have a good time. >> reporter: and peggy says sometimes sex can take a back seat when she feels the love in other ways. >> as long as the touches are there and the looks and the smiles. >> reporter: now, ken also says for a brief while he took a drug for erectile dysfunction to get help, but they also have side effects. not a good situation for him. so they now focus on other solutions. and tomorrow night at 11:00, we'll share more ways this candid couple says they keep intimacy alive. well, police have already arrested three people in a security clamp down related to the royal wedding. with a big ceremony just hours away, london is buzzing in anticipation. wedding watchers got a huge surprise earlier today when prince william turned up near buckingham palace for a meet and greet with his fans. meanwhile the streets are becoming more gridlocked every hour with cars and crowds. in an east london neighborhood, the cupcakes and hanging the union jack for their own royal block party. incredible pictures. they were taken about 55 miles southwest of richmond in long wood university a place called farmville. go ahead and look at the computer and we'll show them to you. this is just incredible. in fact, kennelly was the one that sent us these pictures, but the actual photographer for this picture is amelia perry. she is a photography major. the tornado didn't do much damage. look at the size of the storm. unbelievable. now, we have another picture, this also comes to us from a longwood university student kristen meredith. you can see the same tornado from a different angle. these were taken ten minutes apart. just unbelievable. again, very little damage. now, those pictures kind of blew your mind. look at the numbers. okay. nationally we average about 110 tornadoes in the month of april. yesterday we had 180 alone just yesterday. now, this will probably be chopped in half, but that is pretty impressive. we average 1,000 annually and we are looking for a record breaking april and record breaking season. we'll let you know. we'll keep you posted. tonight it's cooler and calm. 64 downtown. 50s already showing up in gaithersburg and frederick. 63 in leesburg and still 57 in manassas. satellite picture, radar combined, our showers are clear to partly cloudy sky. a little disturbance back to the west. we could see a sprinkle all the way to hagerstown. a light jacket a good idea. cooler and seasonable tomorrow and saturday and pleasant through saturday, which i think we've kind of earned over the past 24-36 hours. overnight partly cooler, breezy, cooler. tomorrow morning partly cloudy and cooler. a light jacket a good idea. by afternoon, though, a few more clouds come in. partly cloudy, breezy and cooler. but still seasonable. highs near 70. winds will increase a little bit west, northwest at 10-15. and, again, cannot rule out a shower in the mountains tomorrow. look at the temps. 70 in springfield. probably 70 in arlington. you go up 270, hold in the upper 60s in gaithersburg and probably 69 in bowie. low 70s in the south in waldorf. 70 in fairfax and 70 in reston. probably only in the upper 60s out towards leesburg. 50s to start tomorrow. 60s by noon. and then 67 to about 72 by evening. breezy conditions by evening. but bright all the way through the day except in the mountains where some showers are possible. now, next three days, nice on saturday. 70. look at sunday. upper 70s. clouds come in but we keep it dry. all right. next seven days, we have to wait until monday to see showers and thunderstorms. temps around 70. i don't see anything severe right now. cooler on tuesday, back in the 60s. maybe some light rain on wednesday. not real confident about that. it may not make it up here. still in the mid 60s and we're making his way in the education system. tonight that same group held a charity event. they were selected from among the 500 kids who took part in an essay contest. they will publish their material at verizon center. they're the team with whom they seesawed this year. caps won four out of the six games. division foes are treacherous in the playoffs. >> it's a tough game. and it should be
