Now to our forecast, Howard Bernstein is tracking thunderstorms later on in the day . Yeah, well see stuff pop out to the west now. I do think by mid to Late Afternoon this is when well be tracking some showers and storms, probably not as strong as yesterday. We dont have a yellow alert, but thats a borderline situation. Stay up on the weather this afternoon, especially if youre west of washington. I want to zoom in. Theres a lot of stuff going on in pennsylvania. In the last hour, over toward areas right on the mountains, west of i81, you see that area starting to develop. This is what well start to watch early. Then i think more activity in southwest pennsylvania will head our way. If youre out in the Shenandoah Valley west of woodstock, new market, this will drift over toward 81, 11 here, over the next hour, hour and a half. Then well have to watch for it mid to Late Afternoon here in dc and especially west of town. Certainly warm enough. Well be in the low, if not mid 80s. Difference today is more of a northeasterly wind and a lot more humidity. It is a muggy, muggy afternoon out there. Future cast shows the activity here by afternoon, likely to be popping. We see the yellow, orange and red. Thats the showers and storms im talking about just to the west of frederick by 4 00, down maybe sneaking in toward charlestown, winchester, some toward the blue ridge. Might see a little bit of activity on delmarva. Then this moves to the south, potentially even bigger by 6 00 p. M. So again, borderline yellow alert. Well watch it. Montgomery county seems to get it. As it gets toward dc, doesnt have the punch as we get towards 7 00, 8 00 p. M. There could be a delay if youre headed out to nats park. Low to mid80s. Settling down overnight. More storms, more heat in the forecast. Ill have your sevenday in a few minutes. Nick, back to you. All right, howard. And several stages associated with the disease, but what impact has it had, would you say, on your life so far . Well, i think the first thing i said when the doctor told me i had this was, and these pills will cure it . And he said no, they wont. They will treat the symptoms. So its something that never goes away. But the, probably the second question i asked him was will i have to give up racquetball . Ive been playing racquetball for 30 years. And theres a group of friends that we play every saturday morning. And he said no, exercise is good for it. So what we found out, what i found out and other people that play racquetball that have parkinsons is that the symptoms go away while youre playing on a cure . You mentioned the medicine. Theres no cure. Science and doctors do not know what causes it. They do not know how to cure it, although theres a lot of fox has his foundation that he started that is trying to research for a cure. But theres nobody knows how to cure it yet. But racquetball, helping the cause there. That is good to hear. Weve actually established a league of people with parkinsons that play racquetball now on a regular basis. Were trying to recruit more members for that, for that sport. Right now, getting toasty with 80 in town. ve got upper 70s in many areas, with 81 in frederick. Not a bad looking day. Just feeling more like, i dont know, sort of approaching the mid to late june timeframe, not early may, with a temperature of 80 and the dewpoints the mid60s. It is sticky out there. Big storm in the middle of the country. More Severe Weather here. You can see how the moisture is coming in from texas all the way to the north. Then weve got developing low pressure off the florida coast. Not quite a true tropical system, but this could bring rains and winds towards the coastal carolinas. For us, the front up here will drift toward us. Southwest pa, see how much sunshine is back here right now . Storms form here later on, likely moving toward us for the mid to Late Afternoon. Could affect that dmiewt. Could affect after work, after School Activities as well. 82, if not 84, 85, the way were going, with scattered thunderstorms. 50s and 60s tonight. Tomorrow, a little cooler, around 80. On friday, warm again, 84. Weekends, and weve got the nats games both days here on wusa. Mid80s. Chance of a storm on sunday, mothers day.
