Officer who gunned down an armed black teenager. The shooting led to four nights of unrest in the louis suburb, but last night remained peaceful because of one major difference. The Ferguson PoliceDepartment SaysDarren Wilson is the officer who fired multiple shots at 18yearold Michael Brown. Hes been a Police Officer for six years, has had no disciplinary action taken against him. Chief Thomas Jackson says officer wilson was on duty hearing calls about a robbery when he confronted brown. Residents have more questions for police. The coverup and Everything Else doesnt justify why a man can lay on the ground and get shot down like an animal. Police say they waited to release officer wilsons name because ey feared for his life. The shooting sparked four days of unrest, but last night demonstrations were calm. Major delays drove metro riders crazy this morning, Blue Line Service in the direction of Largo Town Center was suspended because of a cracked rail between Arlington Cemetery and roslyn. It didnt say when the next train was coming so what we did is we went on the yellow train because we wanted to get to the white house and we figured its only 5 more minutes to our trip that way. They werent too bent out of shape out of the blue line train delaying their ride to the white house. Commuters say it was a major inconvenience with blue line delays lasting 30 minutes or more at the height of the problem. We were given misinformation at one point where we were told Blue Line Service was restored. We were told to get off the train to get on the blue line and then no blue line appeared. This a very important conversation. Thank you for having me. Weve had other bill stories regarding Mental Illness, a state senators son committed suicide as well. More and more were starting to talk about this in the public. Sure overall as a society were not incredibly comfortable talking about Mental Illness. Lets talk about the signs first and then maybe how we can start the conversation too. Okay. So the signs are what you can see, the symptoms are what a person experiences. Okay. And the signs differ depending on the Mental Illness, depression which is really a hot topic right now because of the recent incidents with suicide, you can recognize warning signs based on a lot of different factors, absenteeism at work, a person may be having problems sleeping. Maybe a person previously dressed impeccably and now theyre looking a little less together. Inability to eat or over eating, and the list goes on and on. Its different from person to person. It does vary. Sometimes to the loved ones it could be a little confusing. Sure. Whats the best way to try to breech the topic . Youre concerned but you dont want to tread on somebodys private life whether youre a coworker or family member. Whats the best way to try to give help. The best way is to actually ask. Sit down and talk with that person and ask him or her how are you feeling. Ive noticed that you havent been coming to work lately. Is everything okay. Or i realize that youre going through a really tough time, and how can i help you. How can i be of assistance. Opening the line of communication, creating a dialogue to talk about it really can make an impact in assisting. With mr. Williams, we had seen and hes been very open about getting treatment over the years. People can still suffer, it can still be a dark place. Is there anything you can do to try to help them through it. One thing that individuals need to recognize is that depression and other Mental Illnesses, theres a recovery process, and its not necessarily linear, so individuals may struggle with the challenges of Mental Illness for several years, if not their entire lifetime. For others they may have one bout of depression, and they never experience another episode again. So it really does vary. If you want to help someone whos experiencing depression, and youre concerned, again, opening the lines of communication. Once you find out that theyve actually decided to seek professional treatment, offer to take them to the doctors office. And them can you help them with anything that they need done in house or if you can help them with other activities that they need support with. Its really showing that youre concerned and compassionate enough to recognize that this is a serious issue and it needs a lot of attention. This is such an important topic.
