Moving east on route 7. Anybody around there take cover. Aldi take cover. I will do a fan for you. And this is a severe storm. Middleburg, 6 07 the Storm Tracker and woolsly 6 27 and a Tornado Warning until 6 30 for clark and louden county and i think sometimes it is helpful to take it off and take off the lightning to show you where the warning is. If you are in this area right here take cover. Upperville in the warning and aldi you are close. To the dont want to go out route 50. Once you get past chantilly it will get hairy and middleburg you guys are under the tornadoing warning. Upperville under the warning and inside this red triangle or fan. That goes until 6 30 so we got reports of hail and we showed you the hail and howard showed you that and almost pingpong ball sized and we have the Tornado Warning in effect. The reared back in and kind of pinpoint where the heavier rain is south of 7, the heavier rain, if we had to pick out spots for the heavier rain, i would say between middleville and upperville, the winds around 50, upperville and middleburg what do you go . This is what happens as you get storm clouds, 50,000 feet in the air, you can prevent back to howard in the Storm Tracker 9. What is that, Tornado Warning canceled . Halleluiah. Tornado warning canceled. Thats the trouble with the algorithm and remember we will go there is more Tornado Warnings in the past. Radar is more sensitive and getting more warnings than ten years ago and more than 20 years ago. So good news canceled but still for clark and jefferson and louden humor until 6 30. Howard. Topper dealing with the torrential rain if you can hear me. Harryburg just north of blumont. Okay. Thats where we are right now. Your out there. And watching that storm obviously we had the big hail earlier and right now just heavier rain coming in. Trying to storm and south of the storm because if it drops a tornado that would be safer and working our way back towards the south of percyville if we can towards snickers gap road. Fortunately. Hb. I would stay where you are. The biggest threat for tornadic activity is 50, south of you. So i dont want you to go anymore south of blumont. And you go towards snickers gap. I wouldnt go there. I would stay on 7 and go towards percyville. I dont want you south of blumont or blue ridge, Mountain Road or howardsville and not near upperville. And we will head east towards leesburg and drop south on 15 if we need to. That outcome. Okay. But i dont want you to drop south for a while because it is a dangerous storm. No doubt. This is a dangerous storm for mountville and you guys should have taken cover minutes ago. This will cross over 15 here shortly and going towards aldi at 6 35 and sumpter springs at 6 41. We have a new Tornado Warning out for Clarke County and louden and prince william. Go ahead and print that out. Another one, howie. That is the southern end of the cell. But they have reconfigured the warning right now. Right. You need you are in aldi or sudly springs because there is damaging hail in it as well. Please take cover if you are near this area and it goes until 6 30 moving southeast at 25. Radar indicated and headed towards aldi and halfway fillamont and marshall and go to an interior room if you can. Pretty serious storm right now. At the very least looking at winds at 16 Miles Per Hour and hail two inches in diameter. Again some of the places to stay away from. Aldi. Broad run. Upperville and also into hay it will be near the plains a the 6 35. Again Tornado Warnings and brand new and came out and one was canceled and put back up and i want to zoom out a little bit and let me clear off. I will take the radar off and take the watches back on and this will zoom in here. The new area that we are concerned about. In this area, this is what we are worried about. Almost to warrenton and back. If you look at this and in aldi you are like i need to take cover and fairfax or manassas, you need to take cover and get the kids indoors and go to the basement and southeast and even if it weakens a little bit, it will have damaging hail probably damaging winds. Please, take this storm seriously. I know it is doppler indicated but we have warnings for clark and prince william. I know we will zoom out and see around the beltway, quiet down to the south and we have this storm hanging on and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in sponnavani and another line of showers to roll through. We have a solid line northwest. If you have not received a thunderstorm yet you probably will before the night is over. Here is the Tornado Warning and we got the Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6 30. It is headed toward manassas and brentville at 6 43 and bull run as 6 43. Anywhere in those areas you have to think about taking cover. If you are driving, i dont want you to beat the storm, thats not a good thing. I will zoom in and try to get you to the base here. If i had to pick out winds, it will be right around middleburg. Close to middleburg and aldi. Anybody going past aldo, dont do it, just stop and dont try to beat it by going north or south on 15. This is a deadous storm and could be deadly and we want to keep folks safe. Route 50, past aldi, dangerous. We showed you hail earlier, massive size hail. Gusty winds and never mind the possibility of the tornado. If you are not in the red box, still want you to take it seriously. Going back to hb. To leesburg yet. No, we are coming into percyville. We are on Storm Tracker 9 and had it earlier towards the clark, county, louden line. Howie is right about here. Hail, if you drove we will get back. It is tough. Big, hard to get a signal through these clouds. How war is to the west of percyville east on 7 and i think he is i feel he is in pretty good shape in terms of being safe with the best chance of tornadoes south of him but you folks in upperville and middleburg got to take cover. Take this seriously and get into a basement and you want to remove yourself from debris. It is just you have to do that and move yourself from the windows because thats where all of the injuries occur. I will try to get over here. And get down to here and lets just see if we can see where the oh, boy, look at that. Thats not good about 50. Thats where the problem is going to be right there at 50. Thats going to zoom in more. Thats serious areas. Lets see what we got going here. Gate to gate 151. Thats never seen that before. This is very serious. I dont even know this town. I drive out here all the time. Between middleburg and upperville. Patooka. I dont know. Serious do serious damage. Middleburg and upperville and trying to get a better scan on it and the radar is having some minor problems here. This isk intense. I have never seen gate to gate like that. When you see the velocity, doesnt mean the winds are to the ground but it means they are there. Okay . And if they drop to the ground, thats trouble. Wow, extended warning to prince william. Dont go anywhere near route 50. I know we have hail and we got hail reports and blumont and hail almost an inch half dollar size hail in wicklick 1. 3 inches and we got numerous large trees uprounded in roundville. That is the storm. It has a history of knocking down trees and causing some major problems and now we have the extended the extended warning. Going ba to the regular radar. This is the Tornado Warning out until 6 45. Now extends a little further to the southeast. Again, and chantilly, you guys are in the cross hairs. I mean thats a monster storm and if you are going out 50 to get home, you will have problems or out 66 and really you dont want to go out route 7 or 50. Thats something you want to avoid right now. This storm is over aldi and the highest wind to the south and west of aldi. I will put a fan on it and track it for you headed towards manassas and haymarket crossing 29 shortly and crossing 66 at about 6 30. Going to clifton at 6 47. Dangerous storm and again there is more storms to the west. And until we will take awhile. Look at it back to the west. Severe thunderstorms warnings and we still have the Tornado Warning down in Clarke County and louden county but look at the severe thunderstorms warning with this line. That line looks pretty intense. I dont think it will weaken a bunch. It still has a tremendous amount of lightning with it and a little bit of lightning with the storm but one thing you want to take away from today, when you have large hail it is not one to one correlation but a good predictor. You have large hail, you have a tornadic thunderstorm and if you see two inch hail you will say i will take serious cover. Theres the lightning. Gate to gate share is how much sheer there is between several points a gate to gate, one, two, three, four and four on the ground and one above the ground. The higher the sheer the lower the number to the ground. You can have gate to gate share above the ground and it may not cause a problem, may stay above the treetops and come down to clip the tree tops and lower to the earth and surface, thats when you get your damage. You look at the gate to gate and where is it in terms of the vertical profile. Close to the surface or up 1st one thousand feet. And if it is coming out of the blue ridge, some of you foes up 600 feet in the air. Prince william, louden, this is hammering aldi and crossing over 50 and we will loop this and moving, this is sort of taking a turn also more towards the south, moving towards southeast and just to so headed more like this. Headed towards ma nances. Take cover. Zoom back out. Raleigh, you got severe thunderstorms and up into breeze wood. It will cross over i81 in a half hour and move in the metro. We are under a watch. I will turn the watch back on and you can see there watch about 50 percent opaque yellow. We are looking at the possibility of tornado threats and winds are high. We can see that. And hail is high and flooding is moderate. These storms have it all and we dont want to down play the flooding but we do want you to take precaution for the damaging winds and the tornadoes because thats what is going to cause problems and fly the debris around. Be advised. Thats what we are concerned about. Strong winds and tornadic or not can cause problems. If you see a power line down, dont touch it and get near it. Call your Power Company and they will take care of it and let them know about it. Lets see that video. That was incredible. This storm about 30 minutes ago. Headed a mile east of shenandoah river. This storm is producing in the south and this is when howard was there a half hour ago and he said i as concerned and rightfully so because when you have that kind of situation with that much hail it can turn tornadic and thats kind of what is happened with howard. If you are in route 50. Are on route 50, thats not the place to be. Not the place to be. What do we have now . A new one . I will go to the key for a minute scottie. Red weather alert. We talked about this. Impact and tornadoes high hail high and flooding moderate. Looking at Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and aldi. Please, you are getting hammered. And haymarket and chantilly. Take cover. A fair amount of lightning but thats not the signature with these storms but it has with the storms to the west and ro reports and funnel clouds around martinsburg and trees down also just to the northeast of apopka. Safety, go to the basement. Okay . And interior room stay away from windows. Every day objects can be dangerous hurled at 70, 80 Miles Per Hour. Tornado risk moderate and damaging winds high. We got the risk with the red weather alert. We upgraded it from yellow to red because of the damaging winds and the potential for tornadoes. Loudoun and fauquier essentially as well. I can see from the roof camera moving around a little bit that storm, we are well north of it at this point and actually pretty well defined storm. Shortens short short edges, when you have Severe Weather like this, it goes like that. A mile east of the town center and it is quiet and i think most of the rain has stopped and taking it easy. Really . Thats good. Good to hear you are safe now and we have reports now, hail. And two miles back. That is about what you drove through quite frankly. So a tough storm here. It has the warnings out until 6 45 for the tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6 30. Aldi, chantilly. Aldi is getting hammered and haymarket and chantilly taking cover and crossing 29 and manassas on the Storm Tracker and we will get back to howie and the Storm Tracker shortly and doing a fantastic job going in the teeth of the storms and this one towards bull run at 6 43 and manassas maybe 6 29. The storm is coming your way. If you have a car parked outside. I would put under a carport. So this is again aldi you are getting hammered. Focus on the head of the storm where we can tell folk to stay cover. Manassas and bull run. These are the areas that i would like you to take cover and it will cross towards 29 and oakville you are not out of the woods or catlett. Dangerous storms and lets go back into some lightning but not crazy but the hail has just been off of the charts. We have a little bit of sheer here. Horizontal and vertical. Sheer at 33 Miles Per Hour. And okay. Thats enough to cause some gusty winds. And the storm is moving at 25 or 30 Miles Per Hour. And we are looking at the hail and this is a track of the hail. Look at the track. I mean that is just insane. Let me back out of it and take it off. There is the track of the hail. You know, i have been here awhile and i have not seen a storm hol together that long with that much hail. The exception is the one a month ago in Montgomery County. What was the date on that. May 6th, about five weeks ago when we went through Montgomery County and it had to track very similar to this. This is insane. That is hail 3. 5inches in the orange and 2. 2 north of barryville. You dont see that too much. We will loop it for you. You can see it became more intense. And the storm was intensifying driving through it and now it between upperville and ali. Take the hail off and put the reared back on and the watches and do tracking and try to give folks a sense as to where it is headed. I will loop it for you. A right turn, not much and a little bit. I think manassas and eventually manassas and dale city and even if it doesnt stay tornadic it will continue the path and go through dale city at 7 08 and cross over 95 again. 95 is a mess. About 7 00 and the storm goes across 95 and right over dale city essentially. We will see if the hail holds together and the gusty winds will and the heavy rains will. Th threat with it we could write in the books. One heck of a storm. Just has the potential for tornadoes and certainly has pingpong ball sized hail. We have seen that. No doubt about that. Hail sized over three inches and again hay market and manassas take core. Big line of storms and causing problems at the u. S. Open and now it is romney and to the west of i81 and rolling through tonight. We will loop it through. And until that goes through. We are not done. We are just not done. Putting a storm track on. 853 and the severe thunderstorm watch goes until 10 00 and i in if we go out towards Calvert County and st. Maranathas the main line. And we have pretty intense area of storms right now. Ahead of the storm and again. We have a severe warning for loudoun and prince george. We will break away. I would two to wusa9. Com if you can stream it. This is a very intense storm and i think a tornado is likely earlier between aldi and upperville and the heavier rain over aldi and to the north of 234, Tornado Warning in effect until 6 45. Topper has been talking about the Severe Weather all afternoon. It will be continuing on 9. 2. Absolutely. We will join cb s and back at 7 00 with your captioning sponsored by cbs
