Threatening injuries this morning after they were shot outside Frederick High School last night. Frederick county police are searching for the person or persons responsible. The shooting happened so close to the school that it was heard inside the gym that was packed with students and parents attending a jv basketball game. There is still police tape around this crime scene outside of the school. This is the gym where this all happened. And you mentioned it was heard inside of that full gymnasium. 200 people were told were inside the gym watching this basketball game when two of the students were shot outside. And police right now still trying to find out who is responsible for that shooting. Lets take a look at the video of what Police Describe as a very chaotic scene after those shots rang out. The two Frederick High School students recovering at the hospital this early morning. They were shot around k last night around 8 00 last night. Inside the gym, that game was a jv basketball game against rival governor Thomas Johnson high school. According to the the erfredick ws ne , posta Thomas Johnson High School Student saw four young men dressed in black walk into the gym and then leave just minutes before the shooting. Police have not confd irmethat information to us. They are still looking for a motive. We havent gotten that far in the investigation yet. It was the frederick hightj basketball game which is a traditional rivalry. Is it rerated to that . Possibly. We just dont know. Reporter still lots of Unanswered Questions at this point. We can tell you there was indeed security at the school during this game but we dont know the details of that security, how many people that involved, and if that involved offduty officers. Metro riders will get a chance to speak out today about the tragedy at Lenfant Plaza metro station. At 2 00 this afternoon, a d. C. Council committee is going to hold a public hearing about metros response to that tragedy. Thats where one woman was killed and dozens of people got sick when smoke filled that yellow line train back on january 12. The u. S. Department of transportation is now stepping in to investigate metro safety in the wake of that tragedy at lenfant plaz disacht the federal plaza. The federal Transit Administration says it will inspect both trains and buses. The inspection is separate from the ntsbs investigation. Meanwhile d. C. Officials report more First Responder radio failures during metro station testing. Im just hoping that im not one of the people underground whos, like, getting injured and hurt and no one can hear whats happening. But last year the dalai lama was in washington. We saw similar protests taking place. Hundreds of people were out there accusing the tibetan leader of religious intolerance. I said are you going to be out here protesting and they said absolutely. This will be the first time the president and the dalai lama will be in the same public place at the same time. Police have to expand their investigation now and search the grounds of the middle school as well for evidence in yesterdays shooting. And i should tell you that west frederick middle essentially shares the same campus as the high schools here. You can see the gym area still taped off and i just saw a sheriff cruiser drive through the area. So police will ramp up their investigation as soon as daybreaks.
