Loudoun released a statement that reads our staff that be training and buzz has been training and was prepared for the situation. We thank our nurses and doctors for taking great care of all the patients, we are committed to our promise to deliver excellent care for our patients in the community. Members of congress on both sides of the aisle though are up in arms over how the United States is dealing with the ebola virus. At a hearing before a house committee, some said they are doubtful that the chain of transmission can be broken. Other lawmakers continued their push for a travel ban on the three west african countries with the most cases. It would be an understatement to say that the response to the first u. S. Based patient with ebola has been mismanaged. We need to send the signal now. Our border is closed. President obama says the focus should be fighting the outbreak in west africa. Hes now authorized the pentagon to call up the National Guard. Local comics band together to help the healing, well have the details of a benefit for survivors of Sexual Assault. Welcome back on this friday morning. Weve got some patchy dense fog. The visibilities are less than a barter mile. The early fog in those areas otherwise a sunny and delightful day ahead and climb out of the 50s into the upper 60s and low 70s this afternoon. Fog is coming this weekend and much cellier by sunday and full seven day forecast at about 6 15. Right now beverly farmer and more and more problems as the morning wears on. In maryland this morning, howard, we got a crash thats been closing route 15 in frederick county, maryland north of point of rocks and south of 340. Sky 9 is there and you can see both sides of 15 are closed at bassford road as a result of the tractortrailer and another vehicle that collided. Work arounds the Ballinger Creek pike and 340 combination of 340 and point of rocks road are going to be options for you. Again between leesburg and frederick this is impacking your ride. Big impact beltway, maryland, crash on the outer loop of the beltway right between New Hampshire and university boulevard. Right side of the roadway is blocked and the exit ramp to university boulevard because of the crash. Some local comics are holding a benefit aimed at eliminating the countrys rape kit backlog crisis. And empowering survivors of Sexual Assault. One of the entertainers is stand up comic pete bergen. Welcome, you are more than just one of the entertainers, youre the brain child behind this comics who bring relief and we know laughter is definitely a good form of healing. You said it was an hbo documentary that opened your eyes but you have an even more personal connection for being part of the Natasha Justice project. I do. I had a couple of friends confide in me that they had been victims of Sexual Assaults. And then i saw this hbo documentary Sex Crimes Unit where the story was profiled. She was a 19yearold College Student in manhattan and was raped at gunpoint and had the rape kit procedure done on her. Then a thought that you know they looked for the assailant and just couldnt find him. When in reality that shelf went on a kit and sat untested collecting dust for almost ten years. Our colleague Debra Alfarone has opened our eyes about this and its shocking just how many of these kits are out there that have not been tested. The estimated over 400,000 which is the number and you hear it and youre like thats a lot. But thats 400,000 victims thats 400,000 families everybody whether they know or not probably has a connection to a Sexual Assault victim. So thats 400,000 people with just waiting for justice while those people are still out there. Doing goodness knows what. So. Those are the 400,000 who came forward. Theres still others who were too embarrassed to come forward and be tested. Absolutely. Talk about the benefit. You were saying earlier its for a good cause but also a good show. Its the third time doing it and weve been very fortunate to have some very very, very talented comics donate their time. You know the people dont really like to work for free. But when theyre availed of this cause they like to come out. This year we have a great lineup. Im actually going to host it which im pretty excited about it. Chelsea short i say up and comer but shes already araved. One of the next big things out of d. C. Its going to be headlined by rob mayer. Whos a regular at club all over the place. Between us theres something for everybody. A really food time. Tickets are Still Available and when is it going to take place . Tomorrow night at the jack morton auditorium and all the proceeds 100 of them go to benefit natashas justice project. A lot of agencies say they dont have the money to process this. And this will help alleviate that and how many years after natasha . Was attacked and dna finally bring her assailant at least identified . The guy was out for 14 years inbetween the time he attacked her and went to prison. Pete its a great cause plus a good show and we have more information on how you can still get tickets on our website at wusa9. Com. Thank you again. Have fun tomorrow night. Thank you. Youre welcome. And they dont believe traditional hospitals can provide that sort of training. Thats why nurse nina pham was transferred to maryland from texas thursday. The nih is one of four hospitals nationwide that can handle patients ineffabilitied with ebola. Another of the hospitals Emory University in atlanta is treating phams colleague amber vinson whos also infected with the deadly virus. Yours unite nurses united is backing that claim. Meanwhile the lack of hospitals ready to treat patients with ebola could put strain on the system. Centers like the nih where pham is being treat asked handle a limited treated can handle a limited number of patients. We have a limited capacity of beds of being able to do this type of high level care and containment. She will occupy one of the two beds. Question for direct hands on we ask for direct handson drilling and training and we dont have the staff or the equipment et cetera. The hospital says that allstar wore the recommended staff wore the recommended protective gear recommended by the cdc. Back to you. All right thank you.
