There were at least seven rounds of gun fire that entered into the windows here. That happened during that shootout between the Police Officers and the suspected robber. A man allegedly robbed four people elsewhere in town. He then held five people at gunpoint in their truck and told them to get him away from the scene. That truck encountered police near the scene. The suspect fired at the officers who fired back. The chief says about 30 minutes of negotiations went on after that and police were able to get the suspected robber out of the car. The officers did not know innocent people were inside of the truck but everything went as to standard protocol. As for wanda coleman, she was frustrated by the violence believing that if her neighborhood had more resources, people wouldnt turn to crimes like these. They need to have something for them to do. As he was behind that silver car, Police Say One of the men reached out of the window and fired an automatic handgun back at the officers as theyre driving. Police were able to stop the car. As all of this was going on outside the capitol, inside both the house and senate were in session. The capitol and nearby buildings were placed on lockdown. I spoke to one Congressional Staffer who saw the stop and arrest unfold from her window. I guess i was paralyzed in disbelief. Couldnt believe what was going on with everything going on in dallas and across the nation right now, it was upsetting to see this in our own backyard. Seeing the crime escalate in our own city
