Today a judge in baltimore dismissed all charges against johnson involving the murder of North Carolina teen phylicia barnes. The judge cited insufficient evidence. Barnes disappeared while visiting her sister in baltimore back in 2010. Her body was found months later in the susquehanna river. Johnson was the sisters ex boyfriend and he was convicted of Second Degree murder back in 2013, but a judge ruled that prosecutors withheld evidence and granted johnson a new trial and that case led to a mistrial. A mix of rain and snow has our First Alert Weather Team declaring a yellow alert for tomorrow. Chief meteorologist topper shutt joins us now. It sounds like this has the potential to impact both commutes going and coming. It could, could be minor impact in the morning, maybe just wet roads and more snow falling in the afternoon, but a much different situation than two weeks ago. We dont have the arctic air. We dont have as much moisture heading our way. We have Winter Weather advisories in effect for the immediate metro area, not to the south, does not include Charles County and st. Marys county. Most of the activity in terms of accumulating snow and thats going to be just on grass is going to be i66 north and route 50 north. Mostly rain Charles County down into fredericksburg, rain and snow, so a trace to an inch even through the bellway, but again mainly on grassy beltway, but again mainly on grassy surfaces. Toward hagerstown maybe 2 inches. Still temperatures there will be 35 tomorrow. North of the border is the best chance, adam county, that area, mcconnellsburg, gettysburg, maybe 2 to 3 inches. One clipper is pushing through now. Heres our next clipper. Clippers move very fast. It will dive southeastward and move through here during the day tomorrow. We had a couple sprinkles earlier and we have a couple sprinkles or flurries tonight. Well come back, talk more about accumulating snow and saturdays storm which has changed. D. C. Council members kicked out the public and the media today and they still did not get any clear answers to the safety questions haunting metro riders. Bruce leshan is live at Lenfant Plaza with the latest on this investigation of just the chaos that went on a week ago. Reporter d. C. Council members clearly angry and frustrated, but metros board chair declined to tell them much citing an order from the National Transportation safety board for him to keep quiet. D. C. Council members voted 6 five to close their meeting to the press 65 to close their meeting to the press and the public, but they say when it came to the facts, what they god from the metro board chair in exec got from the metro board chair in executive session was no different than what they got with the room. It makes me frustrated and angry we dont have answers to the questions. Reporter one of the first firefighters to arrive at the smoke filled train trapped in the tunnel near lenfant said passengers told him they could not even open the doors to get out of the railcar, but downs did tell the Council Members that every metro car is equipped with emergency door releases for the center side doors. Every rail has beside the door instructions on how to selfevacuate. Reporter there has been plenty of finger pointing from all sides on the trouble firefighters had using their radios in the metro tunnel. Downs pleaded with the Council Members to give the ntsb more time to sort that out. The facts are actually important before jumping to conclusions about what needs to be fixed. This is an investigation. It is independent. It is federally regulated by existing rules and regulations. They are the only independent party that keeps all of us from pointing fingers at each other about who shot who. Reporter the metro chair did promise to implement any safety recommendations from the ntsb no matter how expensive or difficult, but the council is pushing for answers now. Were asking people, thousands every day, almost a million in the entire system, to ride the metro. Reporter now the ntsb is slated to join metro tomorrow and brief members of Congress Tomorrow afternoon. Well have to see if those members of congress are any more successful at getting some answers. Well let you know then. Lesli, back to you.
