So far no widespread reports of violence. The ray rice video scandal raising questions about Domestic Abuse and how the nfl handled the incident. Tonight the National Organization of women is calling for nfl commissioner Roger Goodell to resign. N. O. W. Says the nfl has lost its way. It doesnt have a ray rice problem. It has a violence against women problem. The womens Rights Organization cites several examples in addition to rice showing that the nfl has turned a blind eye to Domestic Violence. Not only does n. O. W. Want to oust goodell, terry oneill wants to appoint an independent investigator. Goodell stands by his statement. In an interview this morning the nfl commissioner emphasized no one at the league had seen the second more graphic video of ray rice knocking out his future wife until this week. We were told that was not something we would have access to. On multiple occasions we asked for it and multiple occasions we were told no. Reporter you know there are people saying they just dont buy that, that no one in the nfl had seen this tape . Well, thats a fact. Reporter how is it the nfl couldnt get their hands on the second tape, but a website called tmz could . Well, i dont know how tmz or any other website gets their information. We are particularly relying on Law Enforcement. Commissioner goodell admits the nfl has a problem when it comes to Domestic Violence and says the league is working on the issue. Meanwhile rice tells a cbs News New York radio host he will likely move out of the state of maryland. Its expected he may move back to new rochelle, new york, his hometown. When it comes to the football side of things, the players and coaches are trying to focus on their big rivalry Game Tomorrow Night against the steelers. They have a job to do. Its a short week. Players have had to juggle their work, their emotions as well as all the added attention. However, given the intensity of this week you would think this would be a distraction, but the players are saying thats not the case. Its tough no matter what, so its not really added anything. Weve got a bunch of focused guys. We got plenty to worry about just with those guys. We need a victory. It came a day after we lost. So a lot of guys are already focused on getting a win, focused on the things they didnt do well the first game. This kind of came off guard and i just figured the guy was already focused on getting a win anyway. So i dont think it was much of a distraction. Now nfl commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo to all the nfl owners today and made this promise. I b;elieve that we took a significant step forward with the enhanced policies on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault announced last month. I also know we will be judged on our actions going forward. Im confident those actions will demonstrate our commitment to address this issue seriously and effectively. Six game suspension for a first offense, ban for the second.
