Hyattsville police are alerting women about a machine who has assaulted two women and man who has assaulted two women and that man has a pattern of hopping out of the woods and attacking people nearby. Reporter the attacker pounced in an instant. He jumped out of the woods, engaged in conversation, grabbed her, attempted to take her clothes off. She fought back, injured him. He ran into the woods. She ran. Reporter it happened in the 3900 block of hamilton street in hyattsville right across from the Apartment Building where angela brown lives and frequently takes walks. Reporter police say the suspect in the first incident is a hispanic man in his 20s and about 5 8. Hyattsville police say the 2nd woman was assaulted by a man fitting the same description as she was walking away from this metro stop. The West Hyattsville metro to be exact. Theres an access road, jamestown road which runs near the metro, and is popular with pedestrians such as charlotte who we met while she was rolling a shopping cart to hop on the metro. Everybody used this strip to go to West Hyattsville, everybody coming off Queens Chapel going up to West Hyattsville. Reporter charlotte thinks the area needs spruced up and monitored. Reporter devin wall says training to swim the English Channel with his siblings has been grueling and consists of swimming about 10,000 yards a day five days a week. His weight lifting three days a week focuses on shoulders, arms, back and abs and even ice baths to get the body used to the long swim in the cold channel water. The waterway averages 60 degrees and could take 10 to 20 hours to complete the crossing. While devin is trying to build muscle, hes also working on putting on some fat. While devin has been preparing with the trainer in baltimore more than 1,500 miles away in colorado his siblings 19year old dustin and 21yearold danielle are training together. Danielle, an accomplished college swimmer, is familiar with the challenge. She successfully conquered the channel last summer and did very well. Danielle holes the record for the fastest english swimming channel time for any american man or woman completing it in nine hours, 49 minutes. I talk with them a lot about training and what they need to do and kind of what you go through mentally and physically out there. She said its a mental challenge. It is hard. It is long.
