All three of them are being held without bond after their arrest on tuesday night in alexandria. All right now on to the winter olympics, which have begun in sochi. The focus seems to be on everything, but the athletes. Thats right, a new potential Terror Threat as they issued a warning that they might use its a paste or Skin Care Products to smuggle explosive on to planes. They fear that someone could bring bombmaking components on a plane headed to russia and then build it on the flight. Several people flying into russia today say that they did not have to remove tooth paste, water, lotion on their carry on bags as they insist that it is safe. I would like to repeat once again that the level of security in sochi is not worse than in new york, london, washington, or boston. The russian authorities have dispatched more than 40,000 police and soldiers to guard the olympics. Of course a disturbing condition on the hotel you can see there. Yes, the Drinking Water is not safe to drink, but there are stray dogs wondering in and out of the hotel rooms, which they are still being built. My hotel room, the window fell out on my head and i couldnt get it back in and i had to sleep the first night. In about 35 to 40 degrees temperatures with the window sort of half open. There are definitely quirks as we didnt have lightbulbs, but you know, you use it in that area and it is not really there. You know, itll probably fall apart. Oh my. Guests are being greeted by the small beds in tight quarters, open doors, in lobbies. One tweeter wrote that the hotel lobby has no floor, but it does have a nice head shot of vladimir putin. Well, Kristen Berset joins us right now, lets talk about what youre hearing. Yeah, its impressive. To think that they had seven years to get ready, spending 50 billion to practically build the Olympic Village from scratch. Most of these journalists are staying there for three weeks. Here are some more interesting photos we wanted to share with you. He said he took a bath because he had no shower curtain, but when he went to drain it, it flooded. And even rooms without lightbulbs and how about this one, a public restroom with completely mirrored ceilings. Wow. And even the food doesnt look that appetizing. Of course the russian officials are in complete denial that there are any problems. The deputy prime minister, he is responsible for the olympic preparations says that the only problems in sochi are being fabricated by western journalists who are deliberately trying to sabotage sochis big debut out of bias against russia. He said to the wall street journal today that we have Surveillance Video from the hotels that show people turn on the showers, direct the nozzle at the wall and leave the room for the whole day. Well of course this begs the question, why are there surveillance cameras inside the hotel rooms . An aide would not let somebody ask that question earlier today. And then the face of the sochi olympics came to the defense of their preparations saying ive been to three olympic games, i remember vancouver and nobody said something bad about vancouver in turn. Why do you try to find some bad things in sochi . Its olympics, guys, come on. Everybody has to enjoy and dont find bad stuff out there. Everything in turn is where the construction was and nobody said anything about that. Of course the world is changing, everybody is focusing on different stuff, political stuff, but just settle down. The u. S. A. Today columnist and frequent game on contributor Christine Brennan is in sochi filing this report about the controversy surrounding sochi. Hey guys im here in sochi and i thought wed be talking about putins antigay law and this 50 billion budget, but we came here talking about wastebaskets, toilet papers, lightbulbs, its been a very strange first week here. The games start and then well start focusing on the athletes. But im surprised and frankly i dont think its good for putin and the russian organizers. Already this will be a footnote to their games no matter what happens. The lack of organization, the russians, they seem almost overwhelmed by this task and that is kind of sad. So in my 16 olympics, ive never seen a run up in the games like this. But well get it going and then focus back on to the athletes, thank you so much. Thank you. She said that her accommodations are fine as it appears most are, but theres just several unlucky few journalist who is have created this fire storm, which is sad because it is overshadowing the fact the olympics started today. Yes, they did, they started earlier ahead of the opening ceremonies. They added on a lot of extra categories. Weve got some skiing and ice skating today. Were told one firefighter suffered minor injuries as there have been no other injuries since. But then they are still fighting that fire. A roof within the complex, they did collapse at some point, so they are dealing with pretty tough elements as well as the proximity, the close proximity of the other homes as they are still continuing with that and well have more updates as we get them. Then in upstate new york, crews once using a one to one mixture of sand and salt are carrying loads three parts sand and just one part salt. Were really going to push the sand and were trying to keep everybody happy. Its going to be tough, it is tough right now. The sand acts as a traction agent when the weather gets cold. Despite the allegation into dozens of horrific and fiery deaths surrounding the safety of some model that could burst into flames, they were hit from behind as that will still linger. Well have the latest for you and the fight over th a Major Investigation into dozens of prolific and fiery deaths are nearly over. Were talking about 1993 to 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the problem lies around where the gas stations are sitting in the vehicle behind with no protection in the event of a crash. Chrysler maintains that the vehicles are safe. But an hour later you could see the accident. He was screaming mom, mom. And she just burned it up. Death by fire, which happened to mothers who brought kids home from college. Teens who took the family car for a spin. Small children that couldnt get out of their car seats in the nick of time. They are the faces of the innocent victims whose lives were cut short by the accident in the green grand cherokee model. The jeeps, they will continue to drive down the road and crashes to the curb. Reporter like this tragedy here in massachusetts. R phs the smoke you see in the background is from the 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by the 17yearold skyler anderson that night. The massachusetts state police, they believe they were struck from behind by the tractor trailer in this video because he was breaking to avoid the couch cushion that had fallen out of the pickup truck. Their vehicle burst into flames. Well, i think that was an avoidable tragedy. They positioned him to investigate the crashes. In the Jeep Grand Cherokee models of certain years. They believe that the placement of the gas tanks in the vehicles could lead to fires and deaths when they are struck from behind. The gas tank is located behind the rear axle, literally in the crush zone of the vehicle. And the automaker points out that in the 26 fatal accidented cited by nitsa, the death in all those vehicles involve speeds exceeding the crash test requirements. Along with the 2002 and 2007 jeep liberties back in june of last year. It occurred on the night of november 10. Is this problematic because of the issuing of the recall and the issuing of the notices . It is very troubling for both chrysler and nitsa as they could have nailed those notices saying were developing a fix. And thats what they could and should have done. There was no regulation in place that required chrysler to do that until october of last year. If you start the clock there, the company, they would have 60 days to notify the owners. To fix the problem, they say that the trailer hitch would better manage the crash forces for low speed impacts, but the debate will continue about this recall solution and because advocates, they point to the case here. The 4yearold died back in 2006, riding in the 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was equipped with the trailer hitch. And the Police Accident report says that the hitch, they bent under the rear, puncturing the gas tank of the jeep. And that they want the crash tested proof that the chrysler fix will work. And that there are other recalls for them and where they did a crash test. And they will need to do what they did with the ford pinto in requiring chrysler to develop a better fix. Reporter and neither nitsa or them will confirm on whether or not that they have been crash tested. That they will tell us that the group, they will commend the Highway Safety administration for the demonstrations over the course of this investigation. And that we share their commitment to safety and to await the closing resume. And data shows that these vehicles, they are among the safest. That they are expected to issue the final analysis shortly, but by all accounts that this investigation is closed. The Agency Spokesman said that they have been in close communication with chrysler throughout the process and that it is supportive of their announced actions to move forward. That they say that they have no confidence in the fix and that he offers this advice to owners. And above all else if you have kids who are more likely to be involved in the crash, not to let them drive your jeep to tell them to drive another vehicle. And now the parts needed for the nix, they are not available yet, but that they will notify owners by mail when the fix is ready. Back in 2005, they will remove that gas tank where they say to make more room for cargo space. Skylers parents say that they will have no idea about the recall that the jeep is his dads vehicle and his dad says if he had known about the recall that he would have never allowed them to take that vehicle and perhaps that he would still be alive today.
