A young guatemalan boy born deaf can now hear all thanks to a missionary who brought him to america. So cute. The reporter was there when he heard that little boy or watched the little boy hear his mothers voice for the first time. Reporter this is 7yearold henry rivera. He was born deaf but on monday something amazing happened. What henry would normally see as just this became this. Henry made sure everyone in the room knew he could hear the doctors hand smacking the table and not every noise was welcome. [ laughter ] reporter henry came to america and received his life changing operation after aaron of grand rapids, michigan met him on a mission trip to guatemalan. Aarons next mission became giving henry the gift of hearing. I started talking to him but he couldnt hear me. I knew my spanish wasnt that bad. I started asking around. They said he hasnt heard since he was little but no one had known why. They hadnt done any tests. Okay, we need to figure this out and thats when we started the process. Reporter erin started to get help from ray of hope. A couple of doctors had worked with ray of hope and had contacted me. I had one phone call with erin and i was on board.
