All the work that wed put together to give jennifer her day in court was just gone, so we had to decide what would be the best way to tell jennifer. It was not a good phone call. When he was arrested, the first thing that i said after they told me they arrested him was, please dont let him kill himself. There was just crying and screaming on the other end of the phone. She didnt want to believe it. I. Most i could do was just tell her i was sorry. And the only thing that i can describe is devastation. I felt like everything that i had worked so hard for was just ripped away from me in an instant. Dennis bradford, i waited 19 years, two months and three days to find out your last name and for you to be caught. I knew your first name. I sat there, reading my victim impact statement. I was crying. You chose the wrong little 45 pound, eightyearold girl to try and murder because for 19 years ive thought of you every single day and helped in searching for you. In my heart, i knew you were out there, alive, either in prison or living a lie. Heart all of these years and never giving up on finding you, i was right. I turned to my husband, and i said, i wonder if hes hearing me . And just then, a single fire ant bit me on my leg. And i took that as a sign from god that he heard me loud and clear. Im a very sentimental person, and i hang on to bonds that ive formed very tightly. So having people like sharon and detective cromie and agent rennison as a part of my personal life means a lot to me, to know that theyre still there, theyre still supporting me. Also happening right now, firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in riverdale, maryland. The house is near the intersection of oliver street and lafayette avenue. A mosque is filing a discrimination lawsuit against Culpeper County in virginia. This comes after the county board voted last year to deny a permit for the Islamic Center of culpeper to build on a plot of land. The county says they denied the permit because the land is not suited for a septic system, but supporters say antimuslim sentiment is really at the root of the issue. This is the second lawsuit stemming from the case. The Justice Department has already sued the county, alleging the board of supervisors acted illegally in denying the necessary permit for the mosque. Police chief Alan Goldberg has resigned for personal reasons he says. Goldberg had been with the Department Since 2012 after a long career with the Montgomery CountyPolice Department. In the meantime three capts in the Police Department will rotate as acting chief. Hate crimes are on the rise in the district. According to mpds police chief, 107 hate crimes were reported in 2016. Hate crimes against religion, Sexual Orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or National Origin rose in the district. Tuesday morning, 2 a. M. , weve got heavy bands of snow. Wet snow setting up but to the south, you see this pink line here. The slightest jog in this system further to the west is going to shift this rainsnow line. Wherever the line ends up theres going to be a sharp contrast between who ends up between 6 to 10 inches of snow or 2 or 3 inches of snow. Its going to continue for the morning commute. Going in to the late Morning Hours well start to see things wrapping up. 6 inches of snow probability. If youre north and west of dc, plan on 6 inches of snow.
