As flames and smoke engulfed the pentagon, his executive assistant stood her ground. He grabbed everybody she could do bang her boss door down. The whole area behind the wall where i was sitting officials on stage and rang the bell 5 times. It was their way to honor the fallen. Hundreds watched. God bless america reporter the crowd was also regaled by several renditions. The choir sang God Bless America as the nations flag waved at half staff. Amazing grace bursted through bag pipes. They fed the thousands of people stranded at a brandnew hockey stadium that hadnt opened yet. He spent two days there, belgium where again people opened their arms and doors without question. 15 years later, kensil tells me he hasnt gone back since. Mentally he has been thinking about his 9 11 experience more and more and wants to share it now. Today theres a lot of rejection of this reaching out. Im not sure why. I mean, we have so much here. And its nothing to reach out a little bit and, you know, people are afraid. They can do it temporarily, but people need help when theyre stuck. Reporter wusa 9. Canada diverted more than 200 flights all across the country. Theres a production about this called come from away at fords theater right now. Those here walking in the shoes of those who sacrificed their lives. It isnt just about the steps. 50,000 was raised here. The money will go to the families of First Responders who died in the line of duty. Those here say a little sweat is a small price to pay. It happened just after 3 00 this morning outside the mad hatter bar. Dc Police Arrested 27 year old Ryan Matthews in connection with the shooting. Hes charged with assault with intent to kill. The man who shot president reagan and three other people is a freeman tonight. He was allowed to leave the washington Mental Hospital hes called home for more than 35 years today and move in with his mother in williams burg, virginia. The 61 year old was released from the hospital after a federal judge ruled in july thinkly is no longer a danger to himself or the public. Scary moments at 6 Amusement Park in maryland when someone phoned in a threat. That prompted park officials to close down the park. An employee tells us they were trying to keep calm as they directed everyone out. We were very frightened, but we tried to hold our composure the best we can. Theres a lot of crazy people out this. Just said to shut down the park because of the weather. Reporter it was a bomb threat. I m on my way home then.
