Reporter the community is reeling over the attack and this evening, some chose to honor him by vowing to support officers just like him. And the bullet that struck the officer and killed him was a bullet that indirectly was aimed for every Single Person in this room, every citizens, it was aimed at society. And the active shooting, 2010 north boulevard. Reporter yesterday, 34year old james brown shot and killed the trooper at a greyhound stop in richmond. They say yet happened because he stopped to talk to him. And [ indiscernible ] reporter this was not browns first runin with police. He had a long and violent record, one that included murder. Wow. What are they for . The police car. Reporter across the city, people mourned for a trooper that most never met. [ indiscernible ] reporter tonights prayer vigil, officers and civilians did the same. It was not about one officer. It was for all of them. And i back the blue. I stand for the blue. I honor the blue and the men and women that serve. Reporter almost every person in the auditorium wore blue to show their support for Law Enforcement. The flowers, blue and white, meant to do the same. And those that serve in Law Enforcement are only regular citizens that also want to go home. Reporter dur meyer is reportedly the 15th Police Officer killed by gunfire this year and one group said that is more than double what it was than this time last year. 150 . How is that acceptable . How do we not stand up and say i this has to stop. Reporter tomorrow at about noon, a rally is set to take place at the Law Enforcement memorial. The event is organized by a group called united for blue, the second time they have done it. They will march from the memorial to the u. S. Capital to show sent for Police Officers. And more than 100 Police Officers will take part in an 11mile race to honor another fallen officer, Prince William county Police Officer ashley gwendon. She was shot and killed on her first day on the job. And last month while responding to a Domestic Violence call in woodbridge, she was killed.
