This has been a relief in this neighborhood where people are wondering what might have been happening. They have been locking their doors an doing things like that we spoke to a friend of the couple, pam faulkner, who was here when the news of an arrest was announced. Good and shocking both at the same time. We have been really concerned about there being potentially a killer loose in our neighborhood. The people have been keeping their lights on, you know, inquiring about security systems, talking and communicating more to one another. Im still very confused and perplexed tews the brutal manner in which they were executedded that doesnt seem to make any sense at all because they were such kind people. I mean, i can only envision that someone would be jealous because they were happy. Reporter the couple was found murdered on mothers day. One in the house, one outside of the house. They had been stabbed to death. A window in the house was open and the Police Suspected burglary, but tonight they have made an arrest all the way in juno, alaska. Were learning more about some potentially suspicious activity in the days before. The police found a prominent northwest d. C. Couple and two people believed to be their young son and housekeeper murdered and their home set on fire on thursday. The Washington Post reports that a second housekeeper who worked with the family for decades felt there was something amiss to her employers due to a series of conflicting messages, and the husband sounded tense in the messages, she says. The documents also detail an unusual amount of activity last week around the home, including reports of a prowler and a possible sighting of the familys blue porsche speeding away the day before the deaths were covered. Tonight amtrak has been ordered to put new Safety Measures in place after that deadly detrailment in philadelphia last week. The fbi is also launching its own investigation trying to determine if something hit the windshield of the train seconds before the crash. And we have more. Reporter amtrak has agreed to improve Safety Measures in its heavily traveled northeast corridor. The federal Railroad Administration is issuing an emergency order requiring technology that will alert the engineer when a train is over the speed limit and automatically apply the brakes if the train doesnt slow down. The train 188 was traveling 106 miles per hour, more than twice the speed limit, when it derailed on tuesday. The engineer Brandon Bostian spoke to ntsb investigators on friday. He is required as he goes through the stop, and he did that. He recalled doing that. But he has no recollection of anything past that. There could be some ponding of water here and localized flooding because this is the same areas over and over. We call this training down here. And some of these rainfall rates are approaching three inches per hour so you have to head out, southern charles county, you have to be careful. Two men are dead after a shooting in oxon hill, maryland. Tonight the search is on for a suspect. Prince georges police say this is not a random attack. The police were called to the 700 block of auditory lane just before midnight. They found the 24yearold dangelo green and 35yearold rashard jackson, both had been shot. The police are offering a reward of up to 5,000 25,000 for information leading to an arrest an indict inspect this case. They are not indictment in this case. They are not say Yellow Jacket the two men were targeted. She has been dead for a year and those who knew her say theyre afraid for their lives, and the police are trying to find the killer or killers who shot the woman dead in her woodbridge store where she worked. Theres also more money on the line for information. She is this Grocery Stores attendant thats what it has been like for everyone since the 21yearold glenda romero, a store clerk and young mother, was shot and killed here in february of 2014. The reports say she was shot execution style in what used to be the grocery and jewelry off of Jefferson Davis highway in woodbridge, virginia. It has a new name now and possibly new owners, but no one has forgotten what happened. They didnt even take anything, just her life, and these are the type of people that we really, really need to get off the street. It is very disturbing, not just for me but for the family as well. It shows me there hasnt been any justice. Reporter Prince William county justice working on just that and recently posted this billboard offering a 21,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. It is the middle of Severe Weather season for them. For us we have big storms. I know. A hot, humid day. We got up to 88 degrees today. We just got this one. 85 was the forecast so we got it. We were just inside that three degree guarantee. That is 14 in a row if youre scoring at home. And you are. Lets show you doppler we still have activity showing off instability south of us and heavy, heavy showers. Boy, it is really pouring down here. Were talking rainfall rates of one to two nsome cases two to three inches per hour. It is going over the same areas. This has me concerned that a areas from stafford to charles, we may have to watch out for some possible flooding down here if this goes on much longer. I want to talk about this cell first. This one, which had been down toward mount vernon, moving to the eastsoutheast, brandywine, youre getting hit with. This it is going to slowly drift into the southeastern areas of prince georges county, maybe over toward this area. And this areas, it coming from quantico. 301 here, over to swan point here just north of Colonial Beach and now to northern and northwestern st. Marys county. You have to really watch out for the potential of high water in these areas as weve had a couple areas with rain from this afternoon and this evenings storm. So this stuff is really coming down. There is no real lightning with this, but were watching it. It is trying to get into areas father south and east, in toward st. Marys county and just mostly on the maryland side of the potomac. Theres more activity coming out of culpeper. This is headed towards stafford and fredericksburg and Colonial Beach so king george county, you have to watch out as well. Here in the metro, pretty quiet except for the shower in southern prince georges and a really muggy night, 72. The dew point is in up ther 60s. A two, maybe threedegree drop from where the temperatures are now. And where we have the rain and light wins and high humidity, you can bet were going to see areas of fog overnight. The Severe Weather that were talking about, the top of the weather cast with all of the tornadic, that tornado video is from around here. Those storms have now moved into oklahoma, but this thing was a monster wedge earlier. We have tornado watches from kansas city all the way back to areas in west Central Texas here. And then were looking at for us, the moisture. This is the problem were going to have the next few days. All of this moisture coming in off of the gulf of mexico and making a turn in the ohio right toward the mid atlantic. The front trying to come in from north. It is going to be just draped over us. More likely in the afternoon tomorrow, monday and tuesday. Future cast, isolated showers through overnight into sunday morning. And with the daytime heating, sunday afternoon, more showers and storms are likely to pop up so well have to watch this, and this is why we have a yellow alert up for sunday and monday also i expect afternoon storms, so well have the yellow alerts then as well.
