Reporter heather cook allegedly was driving the Subaru Forrester that hit the bicyclist and left the scene but allegedly returned about 20 minutes later. To me she looked disoriented. Reporter sister station wjz confirmed bishop cook was charged with dui and Marijuana Possession four years ago. Najdi hicham was a tow truck driver when he was loading a car onto his truck and was hit and killed. Reporter the father of three nagdi came to work here in fairfax najdi, came to work here in fairfax and it was while he was working he lost his life. He was simply doing his job. The 45yearold who some called aj was a tow truck driver. He was all around fun to be around always joking, making people laugh, a really good guy, worked really hard. He basically worked out of a month all four weeks and take off one weekend. Reporter Virginia State troopers say najdi was prepping a disabled vehicle to load onto his tow truck on the Tysons Corner stretch of 495. Thats when troopers say the driver of an oncoming box truck crossed into the shoulder lane where aj was working, hit and killed him instantly. The box truck drive was charged with reckless driving. We had a motor carrier safety came out there and did an inspection of the box truck and also found that the brakes were inoperable and cited the put the vehicle out of service and for that and a few other Safety Equipment violations. Reporter police say had the driver obeyed virginias move over laws, the accident may have been avoided. Police trying to put together the murders of an elderly man and his son, both shot to death on the street. That officer found one body lying on the road, the other inside the car. As of now no motive has been found. They are offering a 25,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest or conviction. Today d. C. s mayor elect Muriel Bowser did address not only those killings but a recent rash of Violent Crimes across the city. Bowser talked about it during a visit to merriams kitchen, an organization that helps the citys homeless.
