For friends, family and neighbors sadness and anger and laughter as they talk about Brendan Wilson along with a cut when woodridge high and the oakwood drive neighborhood. Some parents say they would like to see this path only about 50yards long close down or cutoff or perhaps more Police Patrols around the times kids are getting out of school. I cant imagine that either side is going to be able to conquer the other any time soon. Ford admits while a political solution is necessary there will have to be military practices. Just not american troops. We do need to help the Syrian Opposition and provide them the material assistance so that they can be the boots on the ground against Islamic State but at the same time so theyre able to put political pressure on the regime. In this mix of moderates and loyalistses, how do we know whose who . How do we choose . Well we have experience now dating back to 2012 working with moderates that are fighting on the ground. People who say we dont know them are simply uninformed. But one thing that does seem to be clear . This is going to be a long term campaign. They arent quick fixes involved. Were still at the early stages as with any military effort there will be days of progress and there are going to be periods of setback. Is this something americans need to get used to . You know, first and foremost is a problem of countries in the region, turkey, jordan, lebanon, iraq, saudi arabia, but they all look to the United States for leadership. No one is revealing how much Texas Health Presbyterian is paying the family of Thomas Duncan but the families lawyer says its a very good deal enough to take care of his children and parents. Texas law limits damage toss 250,000. The settlement will also set up a Memorial Fund to help with the ebola efforts in africa. The World Health Organization says the number of ebola deaths has passed the 5,000 mark and it also says an estimated 14,000 people have been infected with the virus. The vast majority of those cases of course in west africa. The Health Agency says there are signs the rate of new infections is slowing down in guinea and liberia but it is surging in sierra leon. Thats the case in more than a dozen states and tonight reporter Chris Van Cleve shows its happening right here in our area. I woke up the next morning naked. Reporter late last year christine was sexually assaulted and went to a suburban chicago hospital for a rape kit, a medical exam that checks for injuries and collects evidence of the crime. The next day she felt victimized all over again. I got my first bill. You kept getting bills . Correct. Lots of them and for thousands of dollars. Federal law says the victims should not pay for rape kits but there can be additional medical charges like hiv tests or er fee which is play not be covered. In some states that means victims could be stuck with the bill. When you keep getting revictimized once a month, you get a reminder in the mail that you were raped, this happened, its hard to move on. Chicagos rape victim advocates helped christine but it took almost ten months for the bills to stop. We have a full time staff person and the bulk of their cases are resolving medical bills. Our cbs news investigation found 13 states including illinois where advocateds say some rape survivors are getting billed for medical services. There have been at least two attempts to change federal law to expand coverage beyond rape kits. Both failed to pass congress. Maryland hospitals are not supposed to bill for medical costs related to a forensic exam but the state coalition against Sexual Assault says theres confusion about what costs are covered for example, some survivors have been billed for an ambulance ride, testing or followup care. A state panel studying the issue is set to have its first meeting this week. Advocates in virginia and the district did not report a pattern of billing issues. Wusa 9. Now the American Hospital association responded that report saying that hospitals, the goal there is is to treat Sexual Assault survivors and a compassionate manner. They are encouraging all hospitals to review their policies on charges related to Sexual Assault victims.
