About seeing time frozen in some paths. It is about who we choose to honor today. Is it a sign of pride . Or a symbol of history. Today in court. The man charged in the road rage killing of a teenage girl, goes before a judge, what we can expect as david desper those court in west chester county. And it is game two of the preseason at home. The eagles take on the bills tonight at the linc. What we should be watching for when the birds take the field. An icon on good day. We are just weeks away from the reese least of sheila es new albumn. Her message for america when she joins just studio. The last time sheila e was into the studio i pulled a hamstring. Trying to kick your leg up . Ya. Leave it show to sheila. Leave it to her. So we did go looking for some sammy davis photos, weve found one. There go. But here is the deal, though. Yes . I have two points to make, one we had to specifically search for sammy davis junior peace sign, and broke eyes open, the fact you close the eyes are incorrect. Because someone said alec, he had a glass eye so he had both eyes open. I know. That will but i oh, my gosh. My roads here. You know that, but what . So how do i show that . Okay, youre paying homage . Homage. A homage. I met him, i admire what he over came in life. One of the best entertainers ever lived. He can do it all. But i cant i cant show you a glass eye. Why do you have to slow the glass eye . Why cant we just focus on the voice . You dont have the voice, is that what it is . I dont have the voice. Anyway. Because i laugh every single time you do it. I just cant. On cue. True. Lets go to the numbers of the day. It is a eight out of ten today. Because it will be a lot like yesterday. Getting into the upper 80s, it will be a little more humid than it was yesterday. So, warning for. That will hey, today is black cat Appreciation Day. Often theyre the last ones left at the shelters, not bad luck, just as wonderful as any other cat. So we appreciate stormy, with bus stop buddy today, 60s, 70s, clear, comfy, few clouds and, 07 degrees in philadelphia, 78 relative humidity. And no showers showing up, little ground clutter on radar. Weve got a High Temperature today, of 88 degrees, mostly sunny skies, bit more humid than yesterday. But, all an in all, not bad. We will tell when you the rain rolls in. Coming up in the seven day forecast. But right now, it is time, 7 03, to take a look at traffic. We start off with jam cam, schuylkill schuylkill, westbound, the same spot every day right there at sit avenue, where that merge occurs everybodys jam up there. Now we had this problem with patco. Between philadelphia and lindenwold, there is a delay, there, on the emergency schedule, because of derailed Work Equipment. And you see it there, from skyfox, as they continue to work on re railing, i suppose, when something is derailed, do you re rail it . Anyway trains running as locals in both directions single tracking around ferry avenue, broadway stations and emergency construction right lane block, a. C. Expressway westbound, at route 73, watch out for that, as well. Mike and alex. Im an expert of going offer the rales. So im glad you ask me. We all witness it. Yes, we have. I was watching the news channels last night. What a beautiful candlelight vigil, they had last night. What was so beautiful about it, it was many prom too, not like scheduled. People just came together. In charlottesville of course. Thousands marched at the university of virginia, to stands up to hate groups that marched with torches last weekend. And then here in philly, a sea of people filled broad street in center city, hundreds turning out for, thousands really, look at this, for last nights philly charlottesville rally, organized by group called power. The demonstrators say, theyre determine to stand up to the hate in virginia, that happened on saturday. The Community Coming together what it is all about. I mean, we all need to stand up together. Im jewish. So im proud to gather at the synogogue, and walk to city hall, in solidarity, all of these good people. Rally organizers tell us their goal to stand up for equality, lgbtq issues, matters that score individual racism in the community. So, that was going on. And basically across the street, police are guarding the frank rizzo statue because some people, in the city, want that taken down. And then some people are saying, no, it should be left up. Big debate thats been brought back up again, jenny . Hey, jenny. Yes. Mike and alex, so we still have Police Patrolling the area, but no one standing by the statue, any longer. What we do have crews here, arriving, to clean the frank rizzo statue. We know the last couple of days, there have been eggs thrown. The statue has been vandalized here we go hosing him off right now getting him all clean up. We are told that the barricades will stay up here, for a little while longer, at least, until things settle down and it is decided what happens next. Lets take a look what happened last night. Thousands of people marched and rallies, many used this as an opportunity to continue the fight to remove the frank rizzo statue that sit across the way from city hall. People want it removed and argue that rizzo wasnt nice to all races, and in todays world, should not score such prominent placement in center city. He was tough on crime. But the man is a racist, thats my opinion, and i believe that the statue should be in front of the Police Administration building. I was here in philadelphia. And i remember him being a mayor. I remember everything that he did. I didnt stand for a lot of things did he, especially, to africanamericans. However, he doesnt need to be there. But the other side of the story largely on social media. A lot of people coming out with the if he petition on change. Org. More than 16,000 signatures for people who want this monument to stay in place. And back out here live, you can see the clean up work continues. Again, this is a fall out from some vandalism, when the statute was egged couple of nights ago, this is the first time it has been clean since, mike and alex. Getting the scrubbing. Yes washing it down. See what happens today. Thank you, jenny. And we also are going to have more after discussion in just a few minute. Yes. About the frank rizzo statue and the debate thats been brewing once again. So keep voting on our twitter and facebook pages. Yes, facebook the last we check, 75 of the people who voted said that they want to keep the statue. Keep it up. Uhhuh. All right, the Delaware County man charged with fatally shooting and a 18 year old woman during a road rage encounter is set to be in court in just a little bit. A preliminary hearing in the case will get underway, a little bit later this morning, sabina, weve had some people reach out. Because theyre kind of confused on the time when this is supposed to start. Were told it is supposed to start about 9 00 this morning, and this is 28 year old david desper, charged with the first degree murder of 18 year old Bianca Roberson. Here we have rodneys father who just arrived, here at the courthouse, and hes so incredibly kind, speaking to us especially during such a difficult time. And youve been so kinds and gracious with us, this whole time. Can you just tell us how your family is doing . It is to has only been not even two months since this happened to your caughter. Taking it one day at a time. It is still hard for all of us, still something that we still cant believe. We think about bianca every day. So it is still really hard for us. And this is the first time that youre going to be coming facetoface with the man accused of killing her. Yes, it is. And is there anything that you hope to say to him or anything that you want to get out of this hearing when you see him . We just want justice for our daughter. It is not going to bring her back. We still hurt. It is no explanation or anything i can say to him or can he say that would explain why he shot my daughter, he murder my caughter. She was a precious person. Beautiful girl, beautiful. Next week would have been her first day at college at jacksonville. Jacksonville university. Thats correct. Tell us, you have some youve got your banners, your family here this morning. What do you want the community to know . So many people rally around you whether all of this happened. This manhunt that they had so many tips coming in to help to try to find the suspect here watch would you say to the people who have come together for your family . Welshing we appreciate all of the support, everybody, i mean, they showed great deal of love and support from all over. And it touched us, it helped us, in a whole lot of ways. It helped ease the pain a little bit because of so many people had showed their love and support for us. Family, friends, the community, everybody. And we just thank them. For everything. You have been biancas voice, can you tell us about her, about this beautiful young woman, your caughter . She was a shining star to me. She was a star, i was proud of her, and looking for her to do bigger and better things. She was excited about going to college. And i would just wait to see all of the things that she was going to accomplish. Bright, beautiful future. Yes, she did. Ahead of her. We had spoken, prosecutors approaching road rage motive here. Is that still something on your mind, or well, road rage, hate crime, the bottom line to me is my daughter was murdered. How much crime you want to say it was he pulled the gun and shot my daughter. And closure is always such a trite worth here, but maybe some answers as this trial moves forward is that correct what you are homing for . Do i want to know why he did it . No, not really. Just shot my daughter. It is no explanation, reason, anything that you can say to me will justify why you shot my daughter. Rodney, thank you so much. Youve been so kind and gracious with us, as your family goes through this difficult time. We appreciate you speaking out with us this morning. Again our condolances sir for your lost, thank you again for being so kind us to, thank i so much. Again, that preliminary hearing starts at 9 00 this morning. Twentyeight year old david desper charged with first degree murder held without bail since he was charged and arrested, last month, guys, back to you. Wonderful strong family. Very. Very strong. All right, so President Trump, as you know, still embattled after his comments, not once, not twice, but three times, about the violence in charlottesville, virginia. So, doug luzader has more from washington, where the white house strategy seems to be a work in progress. Alex, mike, good morning, the president is increasingly isolated in the aftermath of the event in charlottesville, and his shifting responses to what happened there. In charlottesville, a vigil overnight. Peaceful, despite some fears that protesters might disrupt the event. That on a day when the woman who was killed over the weekend, was remembered in a memorial service. Heathers mother with em based plea for others to follow her daughters example. I would rather have my child, but by golly if i have to give her up we will make it count. Pressure on the president meantime continues to build after his comments that both sides were to blame for the clashes in charlottesville. Seen by some as moral equivalent. More defections from his business council, to the point where the president decided to simply disband them. Tweeting rather than put willing pressure on the Business People of the manufacturing council, and strategy and policy forum, i am ending both. Thank you all. Democrats have broadly condemned the president , and while some republicans have carefully joined the course, others in the administration were supportive. Including secretary of veterans affairs, david shulkin. I was with President Trump on saturday as these events were unfolding, he was upset, he was outraged. Controversial president ial advisor, steve bannon, gave rare interview to the american prospect. Calling the nazi and White Nationalist protesters losers, and a fringe element that must be crushed, the president himself remained relatively quiet on the subject, yesterday, at least. I think that their strategy today has been to stop digging, they didnt have the president out to continue to talk about this in a way that undoes what he tried to do on monday and in that sense i think theyve made some rock rest today. There has been series every tweets this morning, one every which is the public learning even more so now how dishonest the fake news is they totally misrepresent sent what i say about hate, bigotry, et cetera. Shame. Mike and alex. I mean, went after lindsay gram, too, didnt he . Yes. Linsey gram accused him, and also a tweet going after gram specifically on that argument. Yes, yes, equating the White Supremecist with Heather Heyer and the opposing group. All right, so i noticed on the cover of the New York Post yesterday, they were talking about think werent all nazis, tuesday afternoon at trump tower. Trump back at it. We thought, there was a documentary philadelphia many crew that was documenting the entire thing from last friday night, into saturday down there in charlottesville. And they did an interview. To try to keep the statue of robert. Rail. This was documentary with thomas drayton, they do news service now. They do. And this was part of it. Interview White Supremecist who helped lead the charlottesville rally. Provided in depth description of his beliefs and his movements, goals at the rally. Ella refers conducted the interview, delivered racist remarks about africanamericans, and jewish people, including President Trumps soninlaw, jarrod kushner. Im caring a pistol, i go to the gym all the time, trying to make myself more capable every violence, im here to spread ideas, talk in the hopes that somebody more capable will come along and do that, somebody like donald trump who does not give his daughter to a jew. So donald trump a lot more racist than donald trump. I dont think that you could feel about race the way i do. And watch that kushner walk around with that but the full girl, okay . Can you talk a little bit about the right adopting the politics or the political style to the left . We dont have the comradery, we dont have the trust level that our rivals do. And that comradery and trust is built up through activism. And thats one of the tack tis. Im caring a pistol. I go to the gym all the time. He was also asked about his movement. Whether or not it is a violent. Take a listen. This is part of the reason that we want a ethno state, right, the blacks count each other in staggers numbers coasttocoast. We dont want a part that far any more. So the fact that they resist us, when we say hey, we want a homeland, is not shocking to me. All right . These people want violence. And the right is just meeting market demand. Cantwell also defended the killing of Heather Heyer the woman killed saturday by a driver identified as White Supremecist, he said it was justified. President trump receiving criticism as weve been talking about because hes not made a point of, well, you know, by now, just kind of coming out against White Supremecist and neonazis at the rally. A lot of people talking about this the documentary very critical, another reminder about racism in this country and exactly what were dealing with. Shocking. Yes, it is about 30 minute documentary. Thats really been a lot of people have been looking at it, and providing more inside look. Yes. It is hard to find, find people in that group. You mean too long speak . No, i mean, said fine people on both sides. Oh,. The president did. It would be hard to find anybody that would be willing to march with those people. If they real bring thereto try to keep up the robert e lee statue, the minute you saw them with their torches, and blood and soil and jews will not replace us, stuff like that. I think you can go home. Wouldnt you . To hear those chants, i mean, ya. All right. 7 18. Heres sue. It is pretty nice start to the day, as we look at some construction, plenty of that going on in the city. Humid at the on the rise over the next couple every days. We have late week storms, which would mean tomorrow. Because hardly anything in the forecast for today. And it looks lick it is going to stay pretty hot. Upper 80s to around 90, through eclipse day on monday. Speaking of which, in case you just are now coming to the party, and realizing this is happening, were going to the exact number, about 80 eclipse what we will be, not 100 , but you will see a lot of the sun obscured at about 2 43 in the afternoon, it will be about 87 degrees then, looking for mostly sunny skies. So not a lot of clouds to obscure this. View through the pin hole box or approved glasses. Do not look directly at the sun nor with regular sunglasses, only through approved solar filter or one of those pin hole boxes we tried to make yesterday and pin. This 40 chance of rain tonight. 60 tomorrow. And the chance decreases as we head into the weekend. So, as we said earlier, go ahead, make those outdoor plans. Not too much in the way of following. Not like yesterday. 70 degrees in philadelphia. And wildwood. 56 degrees in mount pocono. So thats your column spot this morning. Pretty nice, comfortable in lancaster, and reading lower 60s, nobody maids it to 90 yesterday. We sure got close in philadelphia. With 89 degrees, so to recap in the seven day forecast, with the eagles game, muggy, 87 tomorrow. Eightynine saturday. And 87 sunday. Still in the upper 80s through tuesday and wednesday of next week. So thats a look at your seven day forecast, dont forget about the radio partner 101. 1 more p. M. M. Get your forecast and listen to all of their fabulous music, as well, while youre in the car. Now if youre in the car. Do you have really squint. There is a lot of sun glare, and were looking at the schuylkill expressway right around the conshohocken curve westbound, very bright there. And an accident down the shore. Us route nine, southbound, near 147. This is right where go into North Wildwood. Patco, the derailed Work Equipment causing problems thereon a delay, emergency between lindenwold and philadelphia. Patco this morning. Mike and alex. Weve been asking out of all of the sports teams in philly, which game, has you very satisfied, pumped up, so excited where you are like wow that was amazing . Yes, or just get in your car with the family and go, well, that was fun. The phillies, eagles, sixers, which one do you think it would be. This is a survey, which team actually won this thing. We teased you all morning on there is which philadelphia sport team gives you the most fan satisfaction . This was put together, this survey, by jd power and company. So, here we go. So we start with number five. Number five, mover up to number one. The eagles. Im surprised. Well so basically coming in last whether it comes to our sports teams. And again, jd power did not include the philadelphia soul, so dont get mad at us. All right. Number four, flyers. Interesting. Okay . Number three, the sixers. Hell not surprised that the phillies would top all of them, as far as fan satisfaction. Really . The sixers do so much. I mean, besides the actual game. True. True. They do fun things to get people going. Yes. But the phillies, yes, thats fun. The stadium is fun. Oh, you can see the water from it, beautiful. The bridge, all of that. If you have the kids, always fun stuff going on outside of it pack normally, and the cheering at soccer games, just it never end. Does it . There is never a lull. Just scream through the whole thing. The sons have been. I feel like such a big fan base. And theyre so into Philadelphia Union soccer, like you can feel that when go into the stadium. They do include seating, views. The whole experience. Thats interesting. All right, well congrats to the union. Oh, all right. Jen is in south philly, because weve got a game in south philly tonight. We have l real thing, getting started, come on down, having a pop rod. Again. Victory. It happens at the wall. And after eight hours of glorious sleep. The Beautyrest Black hybrid provides personalized back support. Available exclusively at mattress firm. Sheila e south philadelphia, we spec her arrival around 9 00. So sometime after 9 00. And, the total Solar Eclipse is monday of course. But, be aware of the myths and superstitions, some believe pregnant women should not go outside during a Solar Eclipse. Really . Lots every myths and things, but i still want to hear about it so i can know, just in case we want to play on the safe side. Okay. Sue . Yes. What are you doing . Well, okay. You know, another mitt when a black cat crosses your way it is bad luck. Ehh. Looking maybe to some pictures of you with yours, maybe on twitter or facebook, clear and comfortable starting offer bus stop buddy has his glasses on, 60s, sevens, starting offer nicely. Should ends a lot like yesterday, 7 degrees right now. And not excessively humid. And nothing to show you righty on radar, so throughout the rest of the day mix every sunday, clouds, and 88 degrees, our high by the end of the afternoon though it will be a lot more humid than it was yesterday. And thats your Weather Authority forecast. At 7 30, time to take a look at traffic. We are starting with a look at the vine street expressway. Picking up volume, as we head into and out of the city toward the schuylkill expressway, and toward i95, and an update on that accident, down the shore, route nine southbound near 147. North wildwood boulevard. Right where you enter North Wildwood there, in middle township. The road is closed now until they clean up that accident. So, emergency construction, right lane block on the Atlantic City expressway westbound at route 73. And thats what you got going on on the roads this morning, mike analling. Back to the question of the week so far in philadelphia. Should the frank rizzo statue there in center city across from city hall, thomas payne plaza, be taken down . Or should it be left up . So, a lot of people have brought this debate back to the forefront. Because we know this last been debated for very long time. Slowing you video from last night, barricades put up in center city around the frank rizzo statue. And they want to make sure no one vandalize z it again, because there have been instances people throwing eggs on it, but, helen gym got the conversation started again councilwoman. She says maybe it is time to take it down. Couple of different polls going on, you saw one there, 16,000 people say leave it up. Leave it up. Then our facebook page, here, we have got pole going, 76 say dont take it down. 24 say ya, take it down. We have our people here. Chad is here, charles is here welcome all three of you, simple question, should the frank rizzo statue come down . No it, should not. Why . It is a perfect place. Frank rizzo more than this tough cop, slash all every these other things, he was the ultimate guy answering phone polls, pot polls, why they want it in front of the Municipal Services, where he wanted it, not in front of the police station. Chad . It should be placed somewhere else. Frank rizzo philadelphia icon for many, but also was a racist role cop for a lot of people, polarizing figure, and a lot of people have articulating it is traumatizing image for those people. He had some blemishes on his record with regard to move. The School Protest of 67, i think we also have to have a conversation about that period of time. And who frank rizzo is, when i was growing up in the city of if, a lot of people liking him to our version every bull connor. So, professor, crux of the issue, polarizing figure thats why people is such strong opinions on either side . Two frank rizzos, it alien american, i grew up here, if you talk to my italian side of the family, hes great. If he were black, if you were brown, if you were gay, forget civil right. He was a head cracking cop. Brought issue against what he did, whether i was a boy philadelphia was number one in police brutality, under frank rizzo, he encourager dollars an environment that continues either blind eye or basically they can do things not be held accountable for. Now, you met him . Twice. Okay, this is, he wrote this to you . He did. Okay. Where was this . So i met him, so great story, i shine shoes, after school in seventh great, he was campaign in Overbrook Park where i am and met him in the vest per club. I found out, he found out who i was and sent me. That because thats the rizzoment sent me picture. And he didnt know who i was, and just two weeks later this arrives. Now that vest per club still there, isnt it . Dominoes. laughing . Got to know the password. Oh, do you now . Almost like a speak easy. It is. But back in the day. Thats where they had secret meeting. Yes. Exactly, yes. A lot of that going on. So chad where would you move it . For me, dont know where we should move it, but if you are going to take it down, Municipal Services bill sag prominent spot. A i think thats what a lot of people are upset about. I think also you have to have a conversation, and that conversation for me is that statue is not along the same lines as robert lee, along the same lines at grant or stone well jackson. They tried to overthrow. I see this as big opportunity for sit and i think this, put this up as referendum. None of these conversation was few inside players, put it up for a vote in philadelphia. Because it would stimulate this conversation about the new philadelphia, olds philadelphia, and all of that. I would love to see that. Seems like from some of the responses we received from people after the question was brought up again, some, saying well he was about law and order. He was law and order in philly, and it was a time when phil i needed it the people want it keep the statue up. No matter what the cost. Right. So there are rough edges here. I wonder why it doesnt strike me as rizzo is the same guy. Having people talk about particular tag it down before the charlottes a lot of the act advice, in the city every philadelphia, last year, had a petition for about a thousand people. And so, for me, i kind of wonder, if some of the politicians in philadelphia who are asking for it, the removal, are really acting with integrity, because it something where were seeing the National Trends then all the sudden real concerned about here in philadelphia . I think it is a structure, but i think we should be focusing on some of the structural challenges we have, school funding. I think what happened, the problem is that history often erases the edges. And the fact, i mean, i grew up here. The fact is everybody new what rizzo was about. If you grew up here, unless you really wanted to turn a blind eye, the fact was that this guy, wasnt just law and order. This was an environment that was hostile to a large part of the population. And if you want to forget that, fine. I think there are other ways that i would take that statue, and there is an italianamerican museum thats emerging, right, that will be built. Put it there. I dont believe it was privately funded i get that but on public space. My thought who do we want to memorialize . Many philadelphians, we can say, contributed to the city. That dont have the blemishes, the rough edges. I think hes being nice. I would argue, though, when we start going down this path, there was great, today daily news, george washington, sliver, going down the path. Fdr, what and wait how about fdr, japanese, the single american president that did that, wilson goode has big memorial. I think he deserves it, he bombed his own sit. I here is the right of false analogy. Ndr, single purpose wasnt to intern people. Robert e lee, single point they did was to defends whole institution about slavery. I dont want to be here defending lee. His memory is one thing, basically, what, the civil war. Thats it. We in turn, couple of how thousand people, i think fdr deserves these things. Thats not the only thing did he. Robert e lee thats the the only thing rizzo did either. Two sides. Some people really embrace rizzo because rizzo actually hired more africanamericans into sit government than any mayor before him. And so some people embrace that. Some people say that if you lived in south philadelphia, and you were committed into a marriage, and then you went on the other side of philadelphia, you know, that wasnt your wife that you was with, rizzo didnt play that, right he he was a mans man, but as peck of rizzo whether we look at move, look at what happened to the black panthers, look at what happened in 67. So for me, i see the argument on both sides but i think what we do, weaver to have a conversation, once again, whats making us in the city of philadelphia from a political stant pounds say lets take the statue down. Right . We have a lot of things we need to address. I would say the one area, too, the great conversation, i think statue should stay there, rizzo very riff lgbt. Yes. That will start to surface now. Thats big know big negative even for the times. Think of ben franklin owned slaves, didnt he . Yes. And womanizer. Named a stove after himself. Named the stove after himself. The slippery slope argument really, this is what people are saying, who is next . Well, no, do you have look at someones total contribution to society. The fact is that jefferson, washington, we broke from england, right. The fact is there are 500 statues in the south that commemorate the con fed rasi for one reason, slavery. Ten to, to then after brown, 50 to 606789 exactly right. Thank you all very much. Of course the mayor said time for conversations. Have the people decide, i want you all to remember, my whole body of work. Oh, my goodness, not just for some of the things . Not the policemenner . Not. Okay, now one of apply pet peaves, not should go with your issue. One of the three things you say people should never do in life. Never take naked pictures every yourself and sends them to anybody. Right. Never sing the national anthem, and never agree to throw out the first pitch at a baseball game. It never ends well. Remember 50 cents . Oh, ya. We have another one from last night. It might just top them all. We will show it to you next. How would you like to earn four times gas reward points . Thatd be awesome. You can do that . Just buy participating grocery items during the anniversary sale and youll earn 4 times the gas reward points. Groceries for gas rewards, i wish can i get one more wish . the acme anniversary sale. Its just better. Way, way, way left. I can never get tired of seeing there. Again, my advice, never agree to do there is but we have one from last night, we will show now bit. Thats bad. Now, another, oh, there are so many of these. But, heres miss texas. Oh. See, she tried to be too cutesie with it, put her leg up, stuff. She is a ballerina. Thats it. Ive seen couple of times where they let them do it again, which is also even more risky, because you would be screw it up again . Even worse. Done. Even though this is your thing, i would have to say thanks to the wilmington blue rocks, they had me come out. And did you a good first pitch. Yes. Well, they let me get real close. So they were 2 feet away from the catcher. Which is fine. Okay, so, another one last night. When i saw this, i thought of you. Did you . Because remember, when youre throwing out the first pitch, they have to all have all of the camera guys, people standing there to make sure the hands letter come make sure youre in the right spot. So there is a lot of people behind the catcher. Right . And off to the side. Yes. So, this was fenway park last night. Fenway park last night. Seventeen year old. This is every day citizen, teenager. Oh oh, gosh. Right in the spot. Wow. I mean oh. Oh. He goes down. Poor photographer. Does he fall all the way to the grounds . Oh,. He could not do that again if he tried. One hundred times. What are the odds. Like if i was a photographer, like is not my day. Because the odds that far coming over and landing right on my, you snow. I know. Geez. So if it wasnt a strike, what was it . Was it a ball . Oh, my gosh. Ball two. And the photographer is okay. He tweeted out about it afterward. Saying, caption this. So hes laughing about it now. But im sure hes going to be playing it easy, or taking it easy for awhile. I guess so. Ball two okay, jen putting a mini pep rally tonight. It will be here, too. Here at the linc. We have a game. And there is a lot of guys that really want to show us what theyre made of. These guys, showed us who they were, back in the day. Some come on back, we have a list, of names, that you might want to watch tonight. Traffic time 7 48. We have an accident in new jersey, route 295 southbound, just past route 130. Bordentown area, the accident is off to the shoulder, but things are still little slow around the area. We are looking at i59 next, at cottman avenue. Okay, 8 zero four, the Delaware County man charged with fatally shooting a 18 year old woman, during a road rage encounter, talking about bianca rover son, roberson, about to happen, matter of fact. So these families will come facetoface since the First Time Since this happened. So a preliminary hearing. Some folks are already there. Sabina has been there, already talked to biancas dad. Hi, sabina. Hey, good morning, mike and alex, well i want to make a quick correction, this hearing starts at 8 00 this morning, we are told they moved it up about an hour. You can see, security is tight here. We have Sheriff Deputies guarding the die waiting for the suspect to come in this morning, hes 28 year old david desper, been in custody since charged with the first degree murder head without bathe until alleged shooting death. Lets go to photo, woman just graduated from high school there is summer, would have been starting college, her father tells us next week, desper is charged with shooting her in the head as a two tried to merge lanes . Route 100 west goshen at the end of june . Rodney is here along with other family members getting ready for this trial, for this hearing, rather. We spoke to him about what expect to hear today, heres what he told us. Taking it one day at a time. Still hard for all of us, just still something that we still cant believe we think about bianca every day. So it is still really hard for us. This is the first time you will be coming facetoface with the man accused of killing her. Yes, it is. Is there anything, you hope to say to him, or anything that you want to get out of this hearing when you see him . We just want justice for our daughter. Wont bring it back. We still hurt, and it is no explanation or anything i can say to him or woe say that could explain why he shot my daughter. She was just murdered. He murdered my daughter. And back out here live again, we are waiting for the arrival of the suspect here, told not yet in court. We do have crew inside 12person courtroom very, very small. We have a lot of family members, and friends, of bianca, who have arrived as well but again awaiting forte rival of the suspect this hearing was set to start about 8 00 this morning so far does not appear the suspect has arrived. Do again have crew inside and we will bring you the latest as it comes inside to us. Ive seen a lot of court cases like there is seems like two police dogs, and almost guarding the front whats that about . Told they were going to up security, expecting a lot of people here, as you can imagine, of course, we remember, biancas funeral and her memorial generated a lot of support in the community, a lot of people coming out here, so expecting big turn out here today. Do you think thats why they moved the time up . We spoke, with the godmother, told us last minute according to them they moved up the hearing, not exactly sure about the reason behind that, though. It can be to goat without any drama from outside. First look at him actually. Havent seen him yet. Did she say already in . No waiting. You see this guy, lets go back to her, so talk about drama. , how many years talking about this Chris Brown Rihanna fight . Been years. Years and years. Was it 2009 . That far back . Well, h hes opening up about that night when it all went down, in the section of the gram us. We heards from rihanna, did oprah interview, still dont know specifically what happened and what went down that night. So all part every his new documentary, chris brown, welcome to my life. In at the talks about everything about that night. When he was arrested for physically assaulting rihanna. From start to finish about 11 minute clip going out and around. And he goes back to the beginning. How it all started, he says, the violence started after he confess today having a fling, with a woman who work for him. When they started dating rihanna brought it up, and asked, have you ever been with her . And he said he told her no. He didnt want he felt like it wasnt a big deal. Right. It was before her. But then he decided ill come clean, i see myself being with you, so im just going to put it out there. That he was with her . So this is when he talks about that moment. She had asked me like whether we first started dating, have you ever messed when this person . And this person, she worked for me at the time. And i said no, no, no, man, you know, blush it to the side, because she hated and i assured the person i was involved with before, i said, hey, if you cant come around to these places, she is balling, just crying. And the reason why rihanna was crying, when she says shes crying, speaking of rihanna, even though he told the other woman, look, dont come around us, lever us alone, she did approach them, and Say Something to them. He mentioned. That will it is called the cliff davis, clive of course, huge music producer, out in hollywood. So they went to his exclusive party after the grammys, and this other woman shows up. Hi, chris. While rihanna was standing right next to him. So he said the issue didnt become public until they got in a fight over a text he received before the clive davis grammy party. Oh. She still texting you. And rihanna found out. Because he gave her his phone, because hes like look, i have nothing to hide. Look through my phone. So it always comma head. They start drinking at the party, get into his car, his lamborgini, driving through the hancock park section of los angeles, now the fight is on. She start hitting him . This is the moment when that caused the fight she sees the text messages. So i gave her the phone. She looks at the phone, and there is a message and it says kill the grammys. Do your thing. And i didnt read the rest of the message. I didnt open it. So she opened the message and the rest of the message said how she was at the cloud party. So all the time she thought i was lying. She starts going off. She throws the phone. I hate you. Whatever, whatever. Oh, so he hands the phone to her, listen, rihanna, there is nothing to hide. He hadnt red the whole text from the other woman. Yep. See you at the party. Oh, no. And so he talks about, too, that they had been violent with each other previously, before this, but it was this moment when things really got bad. And he start to describe what happened that night inside of that lamborgini that led to everything coming out into the forefront. Okay. So like i remember she tried to kick me, like her just being upset. But then i really hitter with a closed fist like i punch her, and it busted her lip. And when i saw it, i was in shock. Beep. I hit her, like, so from there, she just spit in my face, like spit blood in my face and im like hell, so it enraged me even more, a real old fight in the car. She ends up out on the street. Well, because she took his keys, and this is all according to him, she took his keys, through it outside, really she was sitting on his keys. I mean, he goes into great detail about what happened. And then at the end of it, he says, you know, he felt like a monster, and he said that he hate it, to this day, something that will haunt him forever. For the rest of his life, yes. You remember right after that, they went to trial and all of that kind of stuff. Heist five years of probation, which i guess is over by now. Yes, it is over. But his was such a big remember when the knot mugshot but the picture of her face . And everyone was talking about it, at the time, they were so young, and he had such a clean cut image. And to see that, i mean, everyone was talking about it, so to finally know what happened inside that far karat least from his side, his perspective, i dont know. Shocked. Some people are wondering why he did it, why is he coming out and detail this and bring it back up again. Well, folks talk about it for seven years, maybe he wanted to set it straight according to him anyway. 8 12. Oh, oh, the eclipse is monday. And there is some superstitions out there. Like if youre pregnant, hang around, listen to this superstition. I dont want to scare anybody. Because these superstitions go back so far. Plus were going to meet the dinosaur dad. Hes in the green room. There he is. There is a father of a teenager in there. And shes mortified by this dad. Lets meet him. Every year south jersey sends more and more tax money to trenton, but gets less and less back thanks to Steve Sweeney and chris christie. Heres the sweeneychristie record eight years of underfunded schools. Huge tax breaks for themselves and their rich friends while we pay more. And homestead rebate funding for seniors cut in half next year. Dont believe the fake news from his wealthy donors. Steve sweeney stands with chris christie, not with south jersey. Monday is the eclipse, right . So some superstitions that go along with Solar Eclipse, right. So linda lee, what do you call yourself . A folkloreist . Whats that . Someone who studies folklore. Okay. Over at penn . At the university of pennsylvania, yes. What is the Wharton School have a folkloreist. Actually structural designer, teach courses in folklore courses, at other parts of the university of pennsylvania. So lets get into these superstitions, monday is the eclipse. There are so many people on line actually, getting married, when the shadow is over them. Theyre getting married. That will a good idea . Probably not actually. Why not . Times of transition in your life are really dangerous. We have a lot of rituals associated with making the transition from one state to another really safe. Okay . A lot of rales use associated with weddings in particular. An eclipse is also a time of transition, right . We go from day, to night, back to day. Yes . And eclipse are seen as inherently dangerous, real frightening for a lot of people. But this is from way back . Welshing yes, but there are a lot of people who are traveling to see the eclipse. Right . And theyre doing that for a reason. Right . Yes. And they want the weirds experience of doing that. Yes. And what happens if you look at an eclipse. What can happen to your eyes. Well, go blind . Go blind. So there is some danger there, right . But, going back to weddings, if you get married or do Something Else really significant in your life. Like start a business . Like start a business, there is a lot of danger thats associated with that. So why would you want to expose that to more danger. Okay, there is people in philadelphia, going to get married during the eclipse. Not even just marriage, anything that maybe different, different in your life, like new job . Weve already gone through that one. Okay . So the next one, we shouldnt be cooking . It is true. What if i want an afternoon snack. You cant cook food. The situation with that is some people believe you shut not cook food, you should not prepare food during the eclipse or atly, that you shouldnt eat food that was prepared before the eclipse. This is connected to mary douglas idea dirt is matter out of place. Who is and throw policies. She said dirt is matter out of place, something dangerous, can be really polluting. I can go couple of hours without cooking. What about if youre pregnant . Oh, we have a couple of pregnant women here. So okay. So there are a lot of beliefs about pregnancy, and eclipse, primary one being that people who are pregnant, or young children, should not go outside. Now, this, i dont think this actually would stop anyone from going outside people believe if you go outside it he can posts you to the danger of the eclipse. Kit kat kline is investigate front shy satisfy shied will stay indoors apalachicola shower after the eclipse. Thats probably not bad idea. Way back in the day whether we got our water from wells, probably why avenue bucket in front of me, because im about to barf. Would you look down into a well, the water, and the reflection would say what . Let me look into this. Do we have a shot overhead . Anybody help me here . I cant quite see. So let me look in there. All right. This is actually venetian superstition, way of trying to see who it is that youre going to marry. So the idea here if you look in a well, you place a mirror over the well, as the eclipse happens, and the eclipse is reflected in the mirror, then youll see the face of the person that youll marry. No, put it over. So it is a row flexion. Put it down in there. Put it right down in there. Oh, look at. That will it is adrianna lima. Super mod. I Wishful Thinking at the wishing well. Okay. There you go. What are you going to do on monday. Im going to work. What are you going to outside and look at the well were in philadelphia here. 80 coverage. Ill go outside, ill watch it, see the sky darken, absolutely ill do that. Thank you, linda. Thank you. Folkloreist. So richard, synchronized figure skating. One of my favorite movies, will ferrell and john hater, napoleon dynamite guy, blades of glare. I i could stay awake just to hear you breathing now add a third member of this wonderful group. You mean Richard Curtis . Richard curtis. Look at that outfit. Oh, my gosh. Youre a superstar. Uhhuh. Guys, it is my sunday best, and whether you come out here and see synchronized skating you dont show up in any clothes, you wear your best leotards. Guys good to see you, good morning, at hatfield ice with philadelphia symetry. You guys are synchronized skating team. This is about to below there place up, right . Tell us about the sport. Okay, so synchronized skating been around for zero six years, start in the michigan with doctor richard poor earn. Real exciting time for our sport, because it is being considered foreign clues in the olympics in 2022. In beijing. The guesser are kind of doing all every that stuff around us, ladies kick it up. What are you doing . Ashley is our coach here today watch are we looking at here . Whats this first portion . One of the basic elements, called a wheel. This is a wheel. Okay. And you use this in the performance. Mine there is looks amazing, now, people dont realize, there is, you said, eight to 20 skaters on every team. Correct. So times this by a lot, right . Ladies, let me jump in on a wheel with you. So 18 to 20 skaters, only six in the wheel. Whats the most you can put into a wheel . We would put 20 scape ers in a wheel. Oh, here lets wheel it up. So they count everything off. Five, six, seven, eight. Thats right. So we want nice shape. Coach, how am i doing. Right shoulder back, rich, right shoulder back to get in line there. All about elegance, you guys have it, good, keep the wheel going, keep it back, ashley. Up here we have something completely different. This is this is a circumstances, one of the basic elm, do no hold, little more advanced than our younger teams would do. Im looking just their feet work incredible, everything counted off. You can really see all of this happening together. So i jump in with these guys, what are we looking at here . We want oh, thats good. See . Symetry, spacing. Good unicent, great skating skills, so we want to see nice body lean and edges. Down leer we call this the clothe line. Ladies . Yes, so this is our intersection. So these moves are when we come back, well try the performance, try a bunch of this stuff ourselves and put little routine together. Come on back. His microphone breaking up there because he is dom some hammell camels and stuff like that. Doing a the low of moves. So i didnt know it has been around zero six years. We have some footage, looks like, and theyll to try to make this olympic sport. It has to be a sport. See the people moving in they have it for swimming. Look how cool this is. Wow. As many as 20, like 16 to 20, i think, maybe as many as 25 people on a team. Usa, usa. Thats something. I would watch it. Cool. Yes. All right weve been seen around the country. It is a man, it is a dad, dressed in a dinosaur outfit. And there is his embarrased daughter. We want to see what this guy looks like. What hes all about. After the break. We have problem route 202, off ramp to Stetson School road and skiles boulevard. It is closed until 3 00 this afternoon. For some road work. Lets take a look at i59 at girard avenue. We have volume, slow going, we have a map at the speeds around town, looking at the major roadways, and any place you see red, thats where it is very, very slow. And it looks like the schuylkill schuylkill is just one of those places allow extra time today and your shades. So starting offer with bright sunny day, but a few things out there that will make you sneeze. Your sneeze report, includes, weeds are going up, it seems like, levels of pollen, moderate there, grasses, ago weed, very low, but mold spores are still very high, and probably higher after the rain tomorrow. Now, tonight, at the linc, weve got forecast of 84 degrees, when the game begins. Kick off at 7 00. Muggy night, with stray shower, possible, but the rain is more likely tomorrow, and even some scattered thunderstorms around on friday. Looks like we should clear out over the weekends, and for eclipse day, as well, so go ahead, mike and alex, make those outdoor plans. I already have. Thank you, sue. You have a new mission this year . Want to make sure you get that out. Yes. All is fun and attention, really it is all about trying to raise awareness for als patients. But this year focused on camp hope loves company. And it is camp for kids who either have or had a parent that has als. Okay. And they get to go away for free camp three days to seven days. And i really just want to raise money and awareness for these camps. Why . Why are you so close to this organization . So when i was in california last year, i learned about the camps. The lady who started them is in new jersey. Jody odonnell aims. And it started with one camp. Now it is to up five. These kids, a lot of them, think theyre alone. So if their parent has feeding tube or cant speak or in a wheelchair, whatever it is, they dont realize there are other people in that same situation. Thats why they go to cam until. So they go to the camp. Specially with social media, get instant support group with them. These camps are just so important. And so thats what im focusing all of my attention on. When people donate they can get now suit . They donate enough ill shop up anywhere. One of these camps runs 20, to 30,000 to run. They have no corporate donors. That are really big. We just need an individual, we need a corporation. We need an athlete, an entertainer, just to help these kids out. Lets do it. Thats what it is about. How can they reach you go to 50 and 30point org or go to hope loves company. Org. And 100 of the funds we raise this year all go to those camps. Do you love your dad. Ya. Ya. I guess. Everyone lovers plea. Awe. Look at that. Thanks, guys, i appreciate it. Thank you. Great job. You know tom cruz, he prides himself in doing his own stunts on these, like, Mission Impossible movies. Hey, what happened yesterday, at the Mission Impossible set with tom cruise . Yesterday he was leaping across one of the buildings, and he slammed, right into the wall, and he broke his ankle. He was pretty obviously looks pretty painful, im sure you guys have seen the video, yes, pretty bad. But he does his stunts pretty much every movie requires him doing a stunt. The reason he does it, it is because he says that it doesnt look real. Unless hes doing it himself. Yes . We saw it again, instantly you can tell his ankle is really messed up so actually broken . It is broken, and the thing is he tried to continue doing the scenement look at the video, you see him limp after he hit the wall. That is dedication. Yes, i mean, actually, dedication, but, you know,s out right now. In fact, they said that the film may be out of production for at least nine weeks, so that he can recover. My god, nine weeks. Can you imagine, first day back onset, to do that again . Now watch. Now, hes cabled, in case he does fall between the buildings. And then he walks back over, and they bring him, see the cable goes up. He also has a cable to the side. And they bring him back over on the cable to the scaffolding. I dont care if im cable or not. Still, scary. It is so scary. I mean, it is dangerous. I mean, were seen this summer unfortunately, seen tv sets, death, where people are doing their own stunts. Very dangerous thing to do. And, you know, he insists on doing it, hes in great shape. He is. And obviously hes been doing it for years. But, you know, this is the risk that you take. Yep. Thats why he gets paid. The big bucks.
