Montgomery County District attorney said kane misused her authority as an official to advance her sort of personal vendettas. Prosecutors called the crimes egregious and they say she should spend time behind bars. This all started as a political feud between she and top prosecutors in her office, when they left office. One of them was frank fina at the trial her aids testified that kane used the Campaign Consultant to pass along some of the finas files to a reporter about a Corruption Case that he didnt charge before he left her office. Well then she tried to lie and frame someone else for leak ago this information. This morning dozens of people in south philadelphia are back in their homes after a gas leak forced them out yesterday afternoon. Police say 45 homes were evacuated on the 101,100 block of christian street. A contractor was doing work in the the basement of the home when a gas line was hit. Prosecution says she was top Law Enforcement official in the commonwealth of pennsylvania. Being the top Law Enforcement official she was expect to act in a certain way. She didnt do it. They need to set an example. She betrayed the public trust. She, her conduct whats greening us by lying in front of the grand jury and she has known no remorse. Prosecution say for all have those reasons she needs to serve time in jail. Defense says shes already resigned as the attorney general. That is created humiliation and embarrassment. Everybody knows about this case. She cant go anywhere without being completely humiliated. Her law license has been suspended so her earning potential has been significantly diminished. She has had no criminal record. She has two teenage children at home. Shes no threat the to the community. So here if you are the judge what do you want to do. Do you want to rule first or do you want me to go. You should go first. They want to set an example, that is tough. Can i give you precedence, ernie preate in 195, Republican Attorney general was convicted of, Campaign Contributions of 20,000, he was sentenced to one year in federal prison. Let me give you that as a background. There is a precedent for attorney general serving time in prison. What did he do wrong. Campaign contributions, 20,000 good that doesnt seem like much. Is that a softer kind of prisons. Ernie served time in a federal prison. That is no picnic. Kathleen kaine will serve time in a state prison. Still no picnic. Especially because shes a Law Enforcement official. She will have a tough time in prison i think. Lets get back to this.
