So we have to come together, as michael said, an issue where doctors are asked to see more people in shorter amount every time, systemic problems, just not keeping up with the technology, and making sure that we have everything set up. I think the problem is there are breakdowns in communication continuously in the hospital with administration, with doctors, with nurses, with other Healthcare Providers. Everything should be documented, should be easy to input this information, and subsequent Healthcare Providers should be able to see it, read it, understand it, and then act promptly. I agree with michael 100 , not talking patient noncompliance, communication. I think the communication between doctor and patient has to continue. And doctors need to be able to sit down and talk to their patients over and over again. And supplementary staff like physician assistant have, to be able to help out with. That will because the communication aspect of it is going to be incumbent on everybody in the Team Including patient to be up on this stuff and to be able to communicate with doctors specially when things have gone wrong so we can talk about it, find out what happened, and be able to deal with it. We cant have doctors seeing all of these patients, michael. We need more doctors. Thats true. Thats also a problem. We need more doctors. Went to get this diploma last year from temple university, riding her bike near temple campus, last april, when a car hit her, just few weeks before graduation. Doctor gave her only 20 chance of survival. Wow. Impact damaged her brain leaving her in a coma, then been in rehab the paths year, been going five days a week, has been learning to walk and talk all over again. Now, she is still in rehab working on her balance and her speech. But she has made enough progress that she will be able to walk the stage, by herself. A bad day, just keep looking forward, no reason to be in the past any more. She is a miracle to me, absolutely miracle. Rachael says, putting the teen who hut her and kept going, out of her mine, has been crucial to her recovery. He was sentenced to 11 and a half to 23 month behind bars, plus fifth years probation. Doctor Howard Kornfeld couldnt clear out his schedule so he says you know what i will send my son, he can come over there the next day because i wont be free until friday, all happening on wednesday. So here is andrew, andrew not a doctor, a premed student, but went out to minnisota now we get to thursday, april 21. This is when andrew arrives at pacely park. He arriving around 9 30 a. M. And couldnt find prince. He wasnt showing up for the appointment. So everyone at the compound started looking for him, and thats when prince was found in the elevator. Now andrew was one of three people who found him there. And reportedly everyone was so frantic around there, that they werent even able to call 911. So it was andrew who called 911, even though he never even met prince before. Now, painkillers were found at the scene. Now we have the new information, mike, that you just said. But andrew also had medication on him in his back back, medication known to curb opioid cravings. Thats what they were thinking how they were trying to treat when it came to prince and his addiction. So now andrews lawyer, said he want to make sure his client isnt charged and he said partly it is because his client andrew was the one who dialed 9911. People who make a 911 emergency call, are starting to receive immunity for any medication, any controlled substances found in the scene. Will provide statutory immunities to andrew relating to the medications that were found in his back pack on the scene. So once again, that is doctor Howard Kornfeld and thats his son, andrew, like i said, not a doctor. But is premed, does work at the offers out there in california. So lets bring attorney Jennifer Brant now, because this is really started so many questions. And i think the point obviously for the attorney to say hey, dont look at my client because they called 911. What is this law about calling 911, so now all area youre immune . Overdoses one of the leading caution of accident at deaths in the u. S. So law, 9911 law thats been enact in the about 20 states including minnesota that protect those that would call the police when someone is in a overdose situation. Protect them from minnesota charges. Minnesota one state that has it. This andrew who called, not a doctor, he was caring synthetic opioids that help prevent addiction. And so for fear of possibly being charged criminally, he is going to use that 911 law as a protection. The reason the law came about they wanted people to not be scared to help someone like in a life or death situation thinking i might get in trouble. Exactly. In many instance it is someone is overdosing taking drugs with somebody else in their presence who may have drugs as well, even the person who is safe would have drugs on them illegal drugs, so the 911 law was enact today help prevent that, to help prevent these deaths. What if doctor Howard Kornfeld prescribed this medication knowing this, took it across state lines, couldnt there be issues there . This drug is very difficult to get in minnesota, very, very difficult. Only certain doctors are able to prescribe this drug. Because it does have a street value. So the fact he brought it, called upon to prince, not illegal if he was rightly able to prescribe it. But his son having it was questionable. You know . Thats why the 911, and thats why i think we had the press conference with the lawyer just to make sure that the son is protected. You mean to tell me even though he is not a doctor, he was there, and i mean we dont want to assume, he had it in his back pack and i think he was thereto give it to give to prince, prevent overdose. And not really dont get over charged al all just because he pick up call . I would be surprised if there were any charges, just because there is criminal investigation doesnt mean there will be charges, but i think because of all of the drug, talk about drugs, and the fact there may have been other drugs there, i think thats why the criminal authorities are involved or, you know, the authorities are involved. Diagnosed september 2013, my experience, me talking about it, helps me heal, and some day will help somebody else. To know that theyre not alone, at first i thought this was only my battle, because how i was raised to be a strong woman. This battle was mine. You are not alone. So many facing this because they want to be proud. But i want them to know that you are not alone. We are here. Sadly passed away last year, her legacy lives on, she is right, you are not alone.
