So expect delays, also, 295, two separate accidents, one northbound at route 70, another one southbound, 295, at route 73. And causing delays, over there in south jersey. Heres latest for mass transit, wilmington line only two out of the four tracks operating today past the crash scene, steve standing by bye in bound trains from wilmington expect at least 30 minute delays, out bound trains leaving center city will go express to marcus hook, make stops after that. Amtrak same deal only two of the four tracks expect slower than normal speeds, like an hour glass, this point right here between philadelphia and wilmington is where we will see delays and that could lead to delays across the board on the northeast corridor throughout the day. Amtrak has had three crashes in less than 24 hours, a friend of mine, named kelly, her eldest daughter claire was on the train that derailed, partially derailed, just south of philly yesterday. She has a broken leg. Some people died involved in this collision. Yes. There were hundreds of the passengers on board and the train slammed into Construction Equipment and went off the rail. That is what is left of that backhoe. This morning, steve keeley is on the scene, ntsb is there as well. They have been there all night, steve . Reporter yeah, the way those passengers got the hurt part of the backhoe spun around as after it was hit by front engine and then went throughout the window of the first passengers cars, oddly called quiet cars as we know. Eighteen minutes after the train left 30th street station and began to hit top speed right through here in chester it collided with the backhoe killing two very experienced amtrak maintenance men with 60 years combine experience. Less than 11 months and less than 20 miles from last mays crash in philadelphia that killed eight. If im working on that track i want to know when a train is coming. It is a straight track. It is coming at 120 miles an hour. Now we will get to the air and show you, not just in this spot where we show you by ground but sky fox down closer to the crash site where we can sianni work being done on the tracks plus a lot of investigating going on. We have the black book on trains and speed of the train, where it was, how fast it was going and et cetera and they have got video camera. And looking out forward, which will show you impact and show you what was on the tracks and exactly where it was on the tracks and inside camera that shows you engineers both before and during the impact as their windshields get smashed and the front entry car gets derailed. You think the impact not screeching on the brakes caused the slight derail many. Probably plus the with the impact also. It must have swung around because in the quiet car, first car, 8 feet of the windows were smashed in. It had to. Because it hit the quiet car two times. Smashed in a whole window. I saw where the people were on the top sitting there it is a macing they didnt get hurt worse. And then hit it again, another window about 10 feet back. Only one window was crashed in and hit second car again and scraped the side. It must have have hit three times. When you got there they were no passengers. They had been transferred. I believe they are all out of the hospital. Yes, they are. But those unfortunate two workers. Such a shame for their families. One was a 40 year worker and one was a 20 year worker. One guy getting ready to retire. Forty years you Better Believe it. Yes. You didnt think they know it was a live track. It has to be lack of communication. I mean, you have to tell the worker, when the train is coming and workers should know, maintenance people should know when train is coming. You say they are blasting on the horn when they see equipment but sometimes you are work ago this heavy equipment and you dont hear things. Trains can be fairly quiet if you are in the looking behind you you. 120 miles an hour gets up to you quickly too. It is such a shame. They are doing their due diligence, it takes time for them to do the investigation and it has got to be a communication failure. You have had a couple of accidents in your district. Yes, second one, may 12th, almost a year we had the big one, you know, a lot of people got killed and whole bunch of people injured. So we will look at, you know, what can we do, you are in the position now to figure out to make it not happen again. We have that up there now, that will not happen again.
