We are told by the fire commissioner that she got out of the house but then went back inside, left the house but then went back in, and that is, when she did not make it out with her son. We also understand six people are hospitalized, four children, or we should say minors under 18. What he dont know their exact age or injuries. They were taken to st. Christophers hospital for children. We were also told two adults before hospitalized as well but a a very tragic situation here on the 2800 block of north Fourth Street. Again, as we come back here, we know that a mother and a son, young son have died in this fire, the commissioner said that the mother was literally cradling her child instead of his word, commissioners word, not a pretty sight. We also understand that there were five displayed throughout the house, heaters a at this time and we dont know, the fire commissioner could not tell fuss they were put next to curtains or anything flammable but something, they were near something flammable to contribute to this fire still under investigation. The 29 yearold was driving the wrong way on the boulevard, when he slammed head on into another car. Police say he ran from the car, jumped off a bridge landing 30 feet below. He died at Temple University hospital. Several others were rushed to the hospital, and they are trying to recover, dave kinchen, that is a tough scene the at north Fourth Street. Fire crew is still inside this gutted two story home here where fire officials, confirmed a young mother and her twoyear old son died in this fire. I spoke with the family member, who says that the mother who died was also pregnant. So she lost her twoyear old son in this fire, and who she was cradling at the time at the scene here, and she was also eight months pregnant, that is according to family. Fire officials tell us that mother, actually got out of the house, and then went back into the house, to find someone there and the fire commissioner, fire commissioner saw said that she literally had her arms cradling her twoyear old. Both of them pass ago way this fire is such a tragedy here. And we also know that six people were hospitalized. We know that four children were taken to st. Christophers hospital, for children, and we also know that two adults were taken to Temple University hospital. Fire officials are telling us that they found five portable space heaterlike devices in the house, and that they were placed next to objects that were flammable. We dont know exactly what these objects were but they a say that was certainly what looks to be, an early indication of what went terribly raining here in the 2800 block of north Fourth Street in north philadelphia a, again, we know, a young mother, and her twoyear old son, died in this fire. Reporter not only that but as you look at the emergency room will here he was shot in his left arm so bad it did severe nerve damage and shattered the bone. He was shooting with one arm or very damaged left arm after he somehow crawled out of the passenger side of the car. When you look at the video and see size of the bullet holes fired from this assassins gun. Why this guy was shooting, we do not know but the officer was driving up spruce street, slowly and his car was moving. Obviously it is surreal for him, you know, to drive up the street, and i guess he is trying to figure out in the process what is going on and fortunately he responded very quickly, and because of his quick actions that he saved his life.
