We know one person died at the tropicana. Another person was injured. I saw steve keeley tweet this one out yesterday. Steve, in the tweet it, talked about a woman who may have been burned, as well . Reporter yes. This was almost exactly 12 hours ago, 5 00 p. M. , was when the hotel staff finally got into a room. When you stay in a hotel, even if you ask for late checkout, the latest you can stay 2 00. So, when this couple who checked in, into a guest room up on the 37th floor did not check out, as scheduled yesterday afternoon, the staff new something was wrong. They got into the room. And they saw one dead, one hurt, and the injuries, again, burns to the neck and hair was the report to the 911 operator. Atlantic city police, as you see in the video, arrived just moments later. Karen, the Atlantic City Police Headquarters just a bit over a block away from here. So they got here within seconds. And immediately, did whats protocol down here at the shore, they called in the Atlantic County Major Crimes Unit. And just as protocol, they dont just investigate crimes, i want to just tell you, they also investigate drugrelated deaths, and overdoses. So, what was this . Well, when the prosecutor finally showed up to talk to the gathered media. He was not going to give many details about what they new so far. But he did seem to want to get the word out, there was no other danger to the rest of the people staying in this peak summer week packed hotel. It is certainly not random. I would definitely say that the public should not have any concerns, as far as, you know, any spree or anyone that would jeopardize their safety, this seems limited in and contained to the event that happened in the particular room. So that would leave through common sense and our experience doing this for 30 something years that is either a drugrelated incident, or an attempted murder suicide, or some kind of domestic situation that was all contained to one room. Thats why he wanted to just get that out, without saying what exactly they believed it was early on. Maybe they didnt know what it was early on. Because the woman was taken to Atlantic City hospital here, just down the street, to get treated. We dont even have the extent of her injuries. Was it serious . Was it life threatening we didnt get any of the details at all. So maybe further details later today, including, the couples identification. So, right now, investigators are searching for a vehicle, and driver. This is some video of the seat, clearly, seemed like this vehicle was targeting the soldiers, two of the soldiers suffered some serious injuries, four others suffered more minor injuries. And more breaking news, man fighting for his live right now after a shoot that happened about four hours ago, in wilmington, right at the intersection of north pine and east sixth street. They found shell casings all over there. We dont have suspect or motive at this time. Lets go to north philadelphia, where police are investigating a murder, we know 22 year old man was shot multiple times, this is looking at video right there, president trump, speaking out about the escalating war of words from his golf course there. We dont know about the motive in that one. But the only thing he was interested in was the jar of change on the counter, he just walk away with. He walk up to the front, while the waitress was getting ready for the morning, and waited for her to go into the kitchen, spoke to couple people, proceed today grab this jar and took off. Inside the jar, an estimated 200 bucks in bills and change. Money all meant for a mullica hill food bank. That is 200 worth of material that somebodys not getting or supplies that someone isnt getting. So that makes a difference. Right along cambridge road, plymouth township. Investigators say there is a black truck that pulls up, in front after persons home, and two mask guys got out. They start knocking on the homes door. And so then when no one answered, two more men got out of the truck and broke in through a front window. Well, there was a person across the street, woman, who saw the whole thing. She got suspicious, called police. There was a man inside the home where the guys went in. Zero seven years old, he was there, eventually, he did escape. All four men were captured. After the standoff. Two even surrendered to police after that barricade. Police were on the scene just one minute after the breakin, thanks to that nosy neighbor. He jumped out, ran on the front porch, jumped in the window. And, you know, so they were in the house. Im sure you couldnt believe it . It was like, you know what . And so i quickly called 911. So a lot of us say, you know, people are being nosy. Well, you know, at this time, this gentleman can thank his neighbor for calling the police. Because it saved him a lot of grief. And, you know, a lot of hardship. But that neighbor was very helpful. When she made that call. Back again, if you see something, Say Something, so they got those four suspect, they range in age from 18 to 31, from philadelphia awe of them, and think think is a random attack. The call came in from the hospital staff here or the hospitality staff here, who went and check on this couple who were in a guest room on the 37th floor. Soon after the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office Major Crimes Unit was called in, by the Atlantic City police, and thats protocol. So you see the police here in our video. The call made by the staff after the couple did not check out of the room as scheduled, as late as noon or 2 00, and so they went and check in on them. And they find one dead, one with burns to the neck and the hair. And the question is what happened . Well, we dont know what happened. The Prosecutors Office detective know they werent saying last night, here is the Atlantic County prosecutor, telling us, what he wanted to tell us, which was very little. Okay, well, we dont have him. What he did say to us was they investigate not just crimes, but also drugrelated deaths, and overdoses. So he was basically hinting to us by also saying that this was not a random crime, and that there was no danger to anyone else either on that floor or in the hotel, that this was either domestic attempted murder suicide or couple that was doing drugs, one died, and one got hurt doing the drugs . Or this was Something Else just all contained in that one room. So, i guess that was good news, everybody else here hoe who was worried here in a very peak summer week here, at the jersey shore, in Atlantic City, and the tropicana, one of the most popular casino hotels, one of the most successful ones right now, and by the way, karen, in a coincidence, closest one to Atlantic City Police Headquarters. So you would think maybe the safest one, so, maybe well learn today, what happened with this couple. We certainly may be learning where theyre from, and who they are. Thirtynine people were charged, it was a multimillion dollar operation, turns out one of the people brought in runs an addiction prevention program. Yep, on line records show that michael row posted bail and is now out of jail. One of dozens facing charges in that ring. That traffic cocaine, methamphetamine, other drugs according to prosecutors who say that row was on the lower wrong of the operation, the Reading Eagle reports, he was the president of the addiction prevention strategist for the last seven years. And the search for robber on the run in camden. Police say that guy, hit jarrods Jewelry Store haddonfield, spent 20 minute in the store.
