Reporter good morning, thomas this is on the 1300 block of federal here in south philadelphia. This is a grew come scene described by police tell us that this man and woman found dead inside their home were tied up and possibly strangled. Again it happened here on the 1300 block of Federal Street. A Family Member who lived in a different apartment in the Building Made the discovery. A 50yearold man was found lying dead on the bathroom floor. His 23yearold girlfriend was found dead in the living room. Police say both victims had multiple injuries to their bodies. The home was ransacked but there was no sign of forced entry. Right now were not certain of the cause of death. However, both of the victims had bruises to their faces and both of the victims were laying in a pool of blood. So seems they were both assaulted. And they were both pronounced dead. Were not sure of the cause of death at this time. Reporter police say right now, theyre interviewing a Family Member again who lives in the second floor apartment and another witness in the area, as they work to find out who did this and why. It happened in the mantua seconds of the city, one is in Critical Condition. Lets get out to Lauren Johnson with what we know. What are the details on this one . Reporter good morning to you, so there were a lot of shots fired, thats how police are describing the scene there. Of this morning, theyre here at Police Headquarters investigating trying to figure out why these bullets were flying. Lets take a look at video. Police were actually near 39th and brown trying to break up a large disorderly crowd when officers heard gunshot as block away, drove over to find out several people had been shot. Two victims had already been taken to presbyterian, an 18yearold and 21yearold. On the scene was 24yearold who had shots all over his body. Police took him to the hospital and they were later notified that there was a fourth shooting victim, who also left the scene before they arrived. And while police didnt find any gun at the scene, they did find lots of evidence. Based on ballistics evidence, we know that at least 31 shots were fired from a semiautomatic weapon. We found 31 spent shell casings on the sidewalk and on the street in the 3900 block of melon street. Pthats also where we found the victims. There were several private residents struck by gunfire. However, no one inside those properties was injured in any way. Reporter police were given information about a car that left the scene, they pulled that car over at 37th and federal. They wanted to talk to the people inside that car about what they may know or have seen and they tell us at this hour, those people are just personals of interest and not suspects in this shooting and right now, investigators are working with west detectives trying to mul over the details and the evidence, but they plan to look over private surveillance cameras that were there at the scene, they want to talk to people and see exactly why the shooting happened and what the motive was in all of this, karen and thomas its a process more to come on this one, Lauren Johnson this morning, thank you. 20yearold confessed killer of four bucks county men goes before a judge today, Cosmo Dinardo was scheduled to appear for his preliminary hearing, he agreed to plead guilty to all four murder counts in exchange for being spared the death penalty. Following this breaking news from south philadelphia where police are investigating the grisly deaths of a man and a woman found inside their apartment, jenny joyce on Federal Street, the scene with what we know. Jenny . Reporter good morning, karen, yes, police are describing a pretty brutal scene, they tell us that this man and woman were tied up, beaten and possibly strangled. It happened here on the 1300 block of Federal Street in south philadelphia. A Family Member who lives in a different apartment in Building Made this grisly discovery late last night. Police tell us a 50yearold male was found lying dead on the bathroom floor, his 23yearold girlfriend was found dead in the living room. Police say both victims had multiple bruises on their bodies. Investigators also tell us the home was ransacked but there was no sign of forced entry we believe a Family Member went downstairs routinely to check on their Family Member and found them both laying on the floor unresponsive and they immediately called the police. Were not getting any reports of any screaming or fighting heard at this time. However, homicide detectives are interviewing witnesses at this time. So its an ongoing investigation. Reporter police say right now, they are interviewing a Family Member. The Family Member who lives on the second floor apartment and another witness in this area, it is very early on in this investigation, but police tell us at this point, they have no suspects. More breaking news, multiple people are injured in a shooting, this is in the mantua seconds of the city, we know one victim in Critical Condition this morning, Lauren Johnson at Police Headquarters. P reporter investigators so many questions this morning, what was the motive . How many shooters and exactly how many victims . Thats what theyre pouring over here at Police Headquarters to try to figure out about the two dozen bullets sprayed at the men in mantua. Police arrived at the scene quickly because they were already in the neighborhood trying to break up a disorderly crowd when the shots started when they made it over to 39th and melon, shell casings were everywhere, no signs of a shooter. One victim still on scene be a 24yearold, he was in Critical Condition, officers rush him to presbyterian hospital. Several others showed up at the hospital on their own with gunshots to the back and arm and police also say there were people who suffered injuries from shattered glass. Officers need help with the investigation. We didnt find any guns on the scene. All we did was find 31 spent shell casings. Thats a lot of shots fired. But we didnt find any weapons. We dont know at this time if it was more than one shooter, or if the shooter had more than one gun. Reporter when talking to witnesses they learned about a car seen leaving that scene, officers tracked it down at 37th and fairmount interviewed everyone inside calling them only persons of interest but not calling them suspects and this morning, they plan to return to that neighborhood to also track down some of that private surveillance camera footage. They want to watch that to see if they can find out about the shooter and, of course, the motive, karen and thomas witnesses play a vital role. Lauren johnson.
