Sorry . Bursting your buttons with pride, right . You can g sucking it in. Going to the number of the day in a minute, but lets check with bus stop buddy. He has sweatshirt on this morning. You might want to grab a jacket yourself. Because it is a little chillier than it was yesterday. We have few clouds around. It is going to be a eight out of ten, instead of a ten out of ten. Because eventually we will see more clouds than sunshine. So with 11mile per hour breezes it is a little on the chilly site out there. Temperatures range from 46 in reading, to 47 in Atlantic City, and 50 down in dover, delaware. We head to the shore and it is 49 in wildwood, 48 in ocean city, camden, new jersey, is 45 degrees. And weve got few clouds and some showers nearby. Nothing in our area at the moment. It looks like things will be clouding up as the day goes on. So, as you plan out your day, by 9 00 we have some sunshine. But noon, seeing increasing clouds. It is 59 degrees. We will probably top off at 62 because of the overcast at around 3 00 in the afternoon. Cloudy, cool, for the rest of the evening, as well. So, wear a sweater, and you should be okay today. Back to you, karen, thomas . Thank you, sue. Because we do have this break being news right now, we have fire that has been burning, we know that there has been injury to a firefighter. Lauren johnson working this one getting lot of new information. Lauren . Reporter hey, karen, we spoke to the fire chief after we checked in with you guys last time. We inched stands the fire, although doesnt appear this way; contained, but there are some hot spots that are still burning. You might be able to see from our advantage tan point here, firefighters now trying to get the burning embers out after tree nextdoor to the house and right above where we are. From the outside the structure seems stable. But beyond the foundation walls, apparently the upper floors collapsed down on to the upper floor from the fire, smoke, heavy watt their firefighters used to battle the flames. We are told the fire started around 2 30 a. M. In the back of this multi family home. But it spread pretty quickly. We understand there are four apartments inside this structure. Two families were home at the time including young children, but everyone was able to get out safely. The only injuries reporte were from firefighter who hurt his ankle trying to help other firefighters who jumped from second floor windows, now if you are familiar with the area, it is right near the pennsauken transit center, right near those tracks, which posed some logistical problems for fire crews on this very narrow street here. We did in the, when we first arrived, firetrucks were attaching to any and every hydrant in the neighborhood, running hoses, trying to get them closer to the fire. So, it does appear some families are displaced at this hour. And it could cause some traffic tie ups. Well check in now with bob kelly for the latest on that. Good job, lauren, you mentioned needed to get back in the truck there to get away from the smoke. So get back in there and hats off to the pennsauken fire department, and all of the firefighters that are out there in the early hours there battling that blaze. We will zoom on into the location right here, zimmerman avenue, right below the betsy ross bridge, and it is right there, adjacent to the parking lot for the river line. Now here is the picture from our own Lauren Johnson, headed to the scene, as the passenger in the news van, when you are going over the betsy ross bridge, look to the right, it is that nice little neighborhood that you always see, it is a couple, only couple of street, all tree lined, houses bumper to to bumper there, then the river line station right here, the new Jersey Transit river line station. So the hoses right now are pulled across those tracks. No trains are passing at all, plus, getting word that there is a water main break in that same area whether it had something to do with the fire or not or maybe the firefighters trying get to the hydrant. Bottom line, two scenarios are going to impact the River Line Service this morning over here in south jersey. And again, just to kind of give you location, it is not going to be big traffic issue but probably slowing folks down once we get some daylight and you can see the smoke coming over the betsy ross bridge. So try to Pay Attention when you are coming over the bridge. We dont want any accidents. And some new lanes restrictions are going to go into effect sometime today, and the parkway is expected to close the inner drive to vehicle traffic. You add that to already the closures that are in effect, like only one lane coming in on the kelly drive, the restrictions of that art museum circumstance em, just been hot mess the last couple of weeks, i know steve will tell us more about that in a moment. Septa still has the three buses, on a detour, avoid the area if you can, into and out of the city, around the art museum. And here is left over construction, along i95, right near highland avenue. Theyve been out there working between the blue route and route 320. Septa looking good. To at least start our morning rush hour. Karen, thomas, back to you. Thanks forgetting us around, bob. 5 05, following more breaking news this morning, this time out of olney. Twentyseven year old man has been rushed to the hospital after being shot. Now the shooting happened around 2 15 this morning, this is on the 700 block of champ plows street. Police tell fox 29 he was shot in the back and shoulder, been taken to einstein hospital, currently in stable condition. Happening today day two of jury selection in the trial of david creato, jr. This morning prosecutors say he killed three year old son brandon in october of 2015. Then reported the boy missing. A memorial that went up at the site where police found the little boys body now gone. An attorney for david creato that it could have influenced jurors if they were to visit the site during the trial. And right now, Philadelphia Police are investigating one of their own after they say an offduty officer shot her husband during a domestic dispute. All happened yesterday morning, right in the driveway of their home in northampton township. The 11 year veteran works out of the 17th district right in point breeze. She allegedly pulled out her nonservice weapon and fired one shot striking her husband in the stomach. She was trying to leave their home with their three children when this happened. You just dont know what guess on across the street, whatever. Person, she had to shoot the husband and everything. Now, police say they do have a history of domestic issues, but there were no protective orders lodged against either party. This morning investigators are still trying to determine how a Philadelphia Police officer backed up and hit a woman in kensington. Skyfox over the area where it happened around 4 30 yesterday, Mcpherson Square park. This is actually a park near clearfield and f street. Someone recorded part of the incident, they posted it on instagram, of course, we have blurred much of the video because the victims injuries are so graphic. Investigators say police were parked on the pavement in the park while conducting an investigation. The officer put the car in reverse and struck the woman who was standing behind it. Now the video shows the officers scrambling to put the woman in the back of the police car to rush her to the hospital. We talked to a woman who heard the entire commotion. Accident like that should not happen. But wrong place, wrong time. Once again the woman is in Critical Condition at the hospital this morning. And the search for the murder suspect who posted video of the crime on facebook, finally over. He did end up killing himself. It happened in erie, pennsylvania. Stiviano ends died yesterday after that two day nationwide manhunt. It was Pennsylvania State police who say that he shot himself during a car chase. This was quick thinking worker over at mcdonalds driver through window, really be credited when this one, tipped them off. She noticed he looked familiar. She checked the tags of the car, saw they were from ohio. And then stalled as he ordered the Chicken Nuggets and some fries. The mcdonalds own here was there says thats when they were calling for police. Basically, just told them it was going to be a minute for his fries, which it wasnt, really, we were just trying to make sure she got in contact with the state police. By the time that stevens pulled out of the mcdonalds Parking Lot Police were thereon his tail. See the video. Troopers say he took his own life as they were closing in. And the family of the victim, 74 year old robert godwin, are saying there are a lot of these fake go fund me accounts that have been set up. So they are asking you please dont donate to any of the go fund me pages under his name. Godwin senior has large family who loved him. He had ten children and 14 grandchildren. Time now 5 09. Lets take you back outside, a live look at the ben franklin parkway. Preparations continue for the upcoming nfl draft. And of course that means more headaches for commuters. Second phase of road closures, theyre in place with the draft just over a week away. Our steve keeley along the parkway this morning, more closures, scheduled, right . Reporter yes. Look, you are going to see the last headlights on the inner lanes of the ben franklin parkway for a long time, until may seventh. Thats how long it will take for this stuff to all get out of here. So we have second car coming up now, enjoying being able to drive on the parkway for the last time for a few weeks. This is driving not just drivers nuts but all of the resident who live in the Art Museum Area nuts. We will spin around, show you, set up all over the place, way more elaborate than even pope francis got. Remember his stage was not on the rocky tens, it is where this tent to our left was, on this park here. But people who live around here, just cant believe how much is going in for a three day nfl draft. In fact, the problem they have is it started april 10th, and theyre told it is not going to be back to normal until may seventh, nine days after the draft ends. Construction really is unbelievable, in terms of the complexity, and the size of what they are putting up. And the length of time that they are take to go do it, and the length of time it will take to take it down. It is not a temporary project. It is unbelievable what theyre doing for three days. I think when the pope came to town, there were half the city, you couldnt drive in it. That was okay. That will was quick, and over with, and safety, i think, with the pope, and security. This is for the construction. This has nothing to do with security, which is what the pope, because they had people on all of the highrises. Come out of this video, and ill show you a live picture of this man trying to run through here. He was just talking to the event staff, the guys in the yellow jackets. There are probably over 100 people working just standing around trying to help. There is one of the septa buses detouring through here. But the runner had to stop running and ask these guys hey, where do i go . And everybody just pointing, and just trying to figure out, so even runners are having trouble through all of the detours. But hey, this is an obstacle course. So new work out for people. How about that . Look at it positively, right, karen . Good way to look at it, thank up, steve. Always like a little bit of glass half full. We appreciate that. And it will be so worth t eyes of the worlds here. Also the eyes of the world are on us right now, weve been anticipating this day. Were talking about a revolution. The city museum of the American Revolution officially opening today. You can check it out. So all of the festivities begin at 8 00. You know this is the anniversary of the beginning of our American Revolution. So theyre going start it all off with a tribute at the tomb of the unknown soldier, of the revolution, right at washington square. Then theyll have festivities continuing with all kinds of patriotic fanfare, over at Independence Hall and the mall area. Then theyre going have dollars dedication, Ribbon Cutting ceremony 10 30 at the outdoor plaza which is fabulous, lots of big names will be coming out for this one, including former Vice President joe biden and former governor ed rendell. Party all morning long. Absolutely. A lot of fun. 5 12 is the time. How about this incident that happened . Too close for comfort. Coming up on good day philadelphia tension is high after two russian fighter jets are intercepted near alaska. What america is now saying about that incident. And remember this patty pie . Let you in on little secret. You love them . Patty. Patty. You love those pies, were you on zested, now starting whole new craze everyone will be after. What miss patty has in store for us. Miss patti should sends us sample, we need samples. 5 13, we go for a ride along 202. Crews are out there between boot road and route 30. Open up your front door, lets go out to allentown, looking live, sue has your hump day forecast when we come right back. Were out ink,nk not ink. Printing doesnt have to be painful. Now, during hp savings month at staples, get up to 180 off hp printers. A lot every weather systems in the vicinity, meaning in our part of the country t looks like the next couple every days will be a bit on the un settled side, with ups and downs in temperatures, as well. So, really have toeclip close track every single day of whats going to happen. Now, today chilly start to the day. We are watching this area of rain thats starting to move into washington, d. C. , eastern virginia, to see if it holds together, and maybe affects delaware. We told you earlier, there is a chance, however slight, of a pop up shower today. But probably it will happen in the afternoon. Actually expecting sunshine this morning, overcast throughout the afternoon, high only in the low 60s, some rain rolling in overnight, and into tomorrow morning. And then it clears up for little while. More rain rolls in on friday morning, and then the sun comes out hopefully by friday afternoon. And thats how it goes the next couple every days. It will be sunny, then rainy, sunny and rainy, not a lot of rain that is expected just enough to keep things on the unsettled side. So were off to chillier start today than we were yesterday with 46 degrees outside. 39 degrees up in the mountains and 49 in wildwood. 47 degrees in lancaster. So a sweater is a pretty good idea today or jacket, 65 degrees, is the average hi, and still above average yesterday, it was cool, comfortable, just perfect spring time day. Today little less than perfect. It is a eight out of ten, 62 degrees with the clouds, and the chance of shower popping up, chance of shower tomorrow, and on friday morning, and then we cool down considerably over the weekend, after 80 degrees on friday, mid 60s on saturday, and mid to upper 50s on sunday. So, sunday could be a chilly and rainy day, that might be your go to the movies day, bob kelly. At less it gets me out of chores. Good morning, everybody. What is it, 5 16. Speedometer readings looking good this morning we kick it all off. Lets zoom in, get you update, that fire location, that we heard from lawyer never pennsauken, along zimmerman avenue. Right below the betsy ross bridge. Here is what the flames look like, as lauren was going over the betsy ross, in the news van, as passenger looking out the right window there. Just got update. Lauren said she did see one train come through pennsauken there on the river line. So thats a sign that they at least got the hoses off the tracks, i think we will be okay, but probably the trains will go little slower into that station. Now, get to go that station is going to be a problem. Because zimmerman avenue is the street where that station, the pennsauken station, on the river line, is locate. So if you are driving to the river line, you may want to pick an alternate station because getting to the parking lot is going to be a problem. There is also a water main break in that same area. And as we go south on 95, expect delays coming into center city today, as we mention the opening of the museum of American Revolution, here is the time line. 8 00, big party on washington square, and then a 10 30 the Ribbon Cutting right around the corner from the tv station here at third and chestnut. Lots of dignitaries, lot of police, lots of secret service, pack your smacks, and your patience, especially, for any of the school trips that are coming into center city today. Maybe you got a class trip and youre coming downtown, you will be delayed, north on the new jersey turnpike, an accident at exit 7a. Try to avoid this whole Art Museum Parkway at all means for the next couple every days, newest closure into effect as steve mentioned the inner driver offer the parkway, add that to the gridlock on the kelly drive. It is also gridlock for any of the buses bringing the school kids in for their class trips, trying to get into the Franklin Institute, kids arent able to run up the steps of the art museum. Live look downtown, nice and quiet at least on the major roadways, no problems on amtraks 30th street station. Karen, thomas, back over to you. Thank you, bob, there is a family right now desperately searching for answers in the deadly beating after woman in south philadelphia. The victim just 33 years old, there she; lauren, she was so badly beaten they could not even recognize her, beaten beyond recognition, it happened right there outside of south Philadelphia High School earlier this month. When police found her, she was unconscious, and bleeding from the head, she was in the hospital on life support for a full week before anyone even new who she was. She did die from those injuries, and her family is desperate to catch her killer. I just dont understand how someone could be so brutal and do Something Like that to another person. We just want justice for our cousin. The family is handing out flyers right now hoping someone saw something, has some information, and will come forward with answers. Happening today, closing arguments are set in the trial of eric frein. Else the man accused every killing a Pennsylvania State trooper and injuring another. Well, weve got two suburbs that have just made a national list, is yours on it . Also ahead this morning, we are talking about a revolution, the new Museum Opening today. The big names and big events planned. So, thats so exciting. Weve been waiting for this one for a long time. Good day to up, thank you for joining us, already april 19th, the date of the beginning of the American Revolution. Thats right. Hence the opening today. If you wore a sweater or jacket, you will not be sorry today. Also, phillies won last night. So thats a good thing, temperatures, mostly in the fours this morning, so it definitely feels chillier than yesterday. Fortysix in the city. Sunrise is 6 17 this morning. Less than an hour away. So, with all of those temperatures in the fours, weve got 50 in dover, only 39 in mount pocono, walking out the door, headed down the shore, beach half send 47. Mullica hill, in new jersey, is 45. Ocean water temperatures around 51 degrees. Thats a look at your weather. We will watch out for some showers coming up. But with all of whats going on all morning, in pennsauken, new jersey, we have an update for up, from bob kelly. Hey, sue, good morning shall everybody, 8 32. Again, update that situation in pennsauken, 7200 zimmerman avenue, house fire, been working on it since about 2 30, 3 00, right adjacent to the betsy ross bridge. Now here is a picture, taken by our own Lauren Johnson, as she was in the news van as a passenger going over the betsy ross bridge. See the flames shooting high in the sky here. Now, detours in the neighborhood. But it is also adjacent to the parking lot for the pennsauken station for the new Jersey Transit river line. Now, i just heard from new Jersey Transit. The river line trains are running through that area. They had firehoses across the tracks for little while. Expect the river line trains to probably slow down, to get to the station, but more importantly, if you are driving to the station, where you can part to then take the train, i would pick a different station, because all of that Fire Equipment is right there in front of the parking lot. So that could be the problem getting to the station before you can even get on the train. Plus getting words of water main break in the tracks in the same area. Otherwise northbound lanes of the new jersey turnpike, an accident at exit number 7a as you head northbound up into central new jersey, up into north jersey. Lane restrictions continue on the Art Museum Circle area. Hot mess. Avoid it if you k steve down there live. Will tell us more about the closures that went into effect this morning, but add that to the one lane on the kelly drive, Spring Garden blocked, septa buses detoured, and school trip, you know, trip season. I came past the Franklin Institute yesterday and a jammo of all of the school buses, lined up trying to get into the Franklin Institute, because of the Construction Zone thats out there on the parkway. Here is a live look at the blue route, no problems at all, looking good on the schuylkill as well as i95. Karen, thomas, back to you. Best time of year for the little kids. Bob, back to the breaking news, we do know firefighter was injured after flames rip through large home in pennsauken, new jersey, Lauren Johnson on the scene this morning, lauren . Reporter good morning to you, thomas. This is update to bobs track report. Our second river line train, just rolled right through here, so, it looks like the service has been resumed. Everyone is safe, which is the good news in all of this, because it was a big fire earlier this morning, crews still here and remain on scene for awhile to make sure there are no flare ups. Flames intense, see them coming offer the betsy ross bridge, fire chief says the fire is contain, but there are some hot spots burning inside even outside the home, some nearby trees catching fire little earlier. For the most part fire was contained to the home. Home just nextdoor, did sustain some minor injuries, or minor damage. From the outside, the structure still standing. But the trouble is on the other side, where the upper floors collapsed from the fire and water damage. We were told the fire started in the back of this multi family home. But it did spread pretty quickly. The home, it houses four amounts, two families were inside at the time including young children, but everyone was able to get out safely. All of this happening few hundred feet away from the pennsauken transit center. But just steps away from the tracks for the river line. So we did see one train roll through here earlier, the second train just came through again, but earlier this morning, hoses were fuld across those tracks when faulty hydrant right here near the home proved to be problematic. Crews were forced to tap all of the nearby hydrant and run hoses down streets, to help get water over here. The fire chief did speak about his crews, suffering minor injuries, told two firefighters did jump from a second floor window, and it seems that they maybe landed on top of another fire it who sustained minor ankle injury, transported to the hospital but expected to be okay. The chief also told us he expects his crews to be here for several hours, as they work to contain the flareups. He also says the fire marshall is here on scene, investigating the fire. And the red cross is assisting these displaced families, karen, thomas . Once again firefighters doing amazing job this morning, our thought with the firefighter and the families, lawyer joan n son, thank you. Happening today, day two of jury selection in the trial of david creato, jr. , accused every killing his little boy, it is set for later this morning. So, once again, prosecutors say he killed his three year old son brandon in october of 2015, then reported the little boy missing. Memorial that went up at the site where police found the little boys body is now gone. And attorney for david creato that it could have influenced jurors, if they visited that site during the trial. And in newark, delaware, police say theyve caught the guy who has been groping women on the campus of the university of delaware. Police say they linked carlos mal dan at owe to three incidents happened late last week, he groped two women, followed two other before they ran off, and they went and called police. He is not in jail right now after posting unsecured bond. Happening today. Take a live look outside at the ben franklin parkway. They have the stages set up there, looks great, they are making all kind of preparations, but of course when you have a big event in your city they have to shut down some roads and people will have to complain. And thats whats happeningment right out to steve keeley with the latest on all of that, steve . Reporter well, no complaint at least for now for these drivers, because the inner lanes still open. So seeing a lot of traffic as we get later in the morning commute. But not going to see this traffic much longer. So, they wont be stopped just by this red light. Theyll be stopped further up there and say hey, youre not getting through here again until early may. Thats right. May ninth is the actual date, that they estimate that all of this stuff will be out of here, even though the draft is only april 27th, to april 29th. Wow. So heres a coincidence if you didnt know little nfl history. First nfl draft also here in philly not as elaborate, not as long, no where near as truck, to drivers, residents, the exercise entheusiasts that brad sat end met all yesterday when he was here, hearing all of the complaints firsthand. They by the way, the joggers and runners and bikers, lost their get back into shape and spring favorite spot to run and stretch, even the popes super secure secret Service Citywide shutdown wasnt as bad, residents in the Art Museum Area told satin last night. It is a month ordeal for us. And these events can last two, three days, like made in america, the last two, three days, but takes a month to set up, another week to ten days to break it down. So it is a month of aggregious inconvenience for us, and influences our quality of life, our ability to move around for people to visit us. And it is just a shame. Because i feel that the city paying more attention to the needs of satisfying the needs of jayz, and roger goodel, than to the tax paying citizens of the city. Well, that first draft here in philadelphia, the idea of the first eagles owner, and former nfl commissioner burt bell, long before goodels days, thats 81 years ago, who owned the ritz darryl ton hotel. So the draft held in a hotel suite just over two days, february 8th and 9th, 1936, that first draft didnt help the eagles much by the way, they drafted nine College Seniors including that years Heisman Trophy winner because the eagles were the worse team, got the in number one, but bell said sorry i cant afford you, traded him to the bears. Jay berringer, all right. Thank you, steve, appreciate it, and your history each and every time, thank you. Also anticipation has been building, we talk about it for just decades about building this museum. Well it is here. The citys museum of the American Revolution, were talking about that revolution, because it all opens at 8 00 this morning with a tribute at the tomb of the unknown soldier of the revolutions right at washington square, from there, theyre going have those festive tis go over to the Independence Hall and mall area. And then theyll have the official dedication, and Ribbon Cutting ceremony at 10 30 on the outdoor plaza. We know that Vice President form, former Vice President joe biden, also former governor ed rendell will be there. All right, 5 40. Patti labelle, you love the pies, i love the pies, amazing, now she has more cooking happening. Yes. Get this right here. Coming up on good day philadelphia, i dont know where you left off on that one, but sean bell has sport in a minute.
