Lets get to breaking news in kensington. Several Police Vehicles were hit on erie avenue after a suspect barreled right through a crime scene. Steve keeley is on the scene with the latest. What is going on here, steve. Reporter they have i street opened but erie is still shut down. You can see yellow crime scene tape. We have two crimes. Bicycle patrol officers here that officers in shorts, we have men, Women Officers and their bikes that are all smashed up, and rims are bent, you can see this red convertible, that car was carjacked just about five minutes from here, and only about an hour ago. And so these cops, make an arrest, they will get two guys they take off in either direction. One guy tosses the gun, they will get the gun and both guys , as theyre at this scene another car, that is no longer here that took off, intentionally in the word of Many Police Officers here at the scene tried to mow down the officers that had, flashing lights on, and plenty of police markings all around, and no intention to stop other than hitting these officers, that was the intent they believe. Police say that the 48 yearold victim was shot once in the face, twice in the neck and once in the arm around 11 30. He was taken to the hospital and he is in stable condition. Police are looking for that suspect in a white bmw. Also, the corruption trial for d. A. Now in the busiest Police District now the 24th has over taken the 15th. They are now moving those bikes in the trunk of that car which is also damage because one of the bikes was thrown into that. They cannot drive these bikes away because they are so damaged from a car that slammed into them like a bowling ball knocking down bowling pins and they believe that car tried to kill cops intentionally. So what happens is we are looking now at this chrysler s ebring just before three for a report of the carjacking. Officers stopped two guys with the gun here at erie and i streets and as they are on the scene of this carjacking you can see, cop lights are flashing, so they have the bicycles officers surrounding this car and they have got cop cars with lights flashing, and then still somebody in a nissan comes barreling through here at 60 miles an hour, no attempt to stop, and because they saw clearly that police were here at a car stop and a crime scene crashing into these bicycles and cops that had bikes dove out of the way at last second or we would be talking about dead severely injured cops here. Investigators say a Family Member arrived home to find that home in flames on buck walter road. It happened yesterday morning. Fire fighters found the boys body inside the home.
