Steve keeley is joining us live from Port Richmond with what we might learn present this, good morning. Reporter nothing final but it did leak out as investigators were briefed and likely going to be that it appears a bunch of factors created this crash, you know, tragedy, starting with vandals tossing rocks, down on to the passing trains, which had both septa and amtrak, track engineers, on their radios with the track dispatchers, leaving amtrak 188th engineer to lose track of where he was here on the busy northeast corridor and that finding will be taken up with the hearing today saying that 188 engineer Brandon Bostian lost what is called situational awareness, just before the frankford curve here in the road as he sped up the train to 106 miles an hour distract by all of the radio traffic just before. One other factor, in why eight people died, problems with the emergency windows on the railcars apparently they failed and that is why a lot of those eight people were killed being thrown out of that railcar, chris and lauren. Steve keeley, thanks very much for the update. A people of people dont like it that way. Steve keeley, new information expected in that deadly amtrak crash from a year ago. Reporter yeah, lots of new information. Not only will they conclude that the engineer lost track of where he was but they will make a whole lot of recommendation that is windows that failed, why people were thrown out of the train and recommendations to philadelphia officials too bob kelly about how to handle better mass casualty event. A lot of information coming out, getting ready to get the distributed to everybody the. Steves on it. We will go for a ride, i95 as you roll southbound out of northeast philadelphia, no problems yet coming into center city but things could get tricky later on, sue has the forecast we will grab a cup of coffee and be right back. Narrator breakfast. Dishes. Dinner. Dishes. Marriage. Dishes. Divorce. Dishes. Sleeping. snoring sputtering dishes. Not sleeping. Dishes. Life. Dishes. Death. Dishes. Existence. Dishes. Dishes, dishes, dishes. Every dish, every time. Only finish has the power ball to take on anything. Heres what led to last years deadly amtrak derailment. She points to the engineer and possible distractions. That engineer distract by radio chatter, seconds before the crash. The those findings in the ntsb report that could be released today. Fox 29s steve keeley joins us from Port Richmond where we are getting the latest information, steve, good morning. Reporter it is definitely coming out today. It will be a whole lot more than just that probable cause about the engineer being distract. Distract because of all of the radio traffic about vandals throws rocks at the train and smashing a windshield. It starts with that and whole host of errors after that. Wall street journal reports that the National Transportation safety board is also going to recommend changes, not just to amtrak but even to officials here in philadelphia, focusing on how to manage mass casualty events. Now federal safety investigators have been conclude ago this amtrak train 188 engineer Brandon Bostian lost track of where he was, it is quote called losing situational allah wearness like when a driver passes the intended exit on the highway talking on his cell phone. The in the amtrak crash the engineer was on the radio with the dispatcher who had also talk to a septa train engineer. Thinks all old news, hit by a rock. One factor was engineer distract by radio traffic when he throttled up to 106 miles an hour. Have of course, other factor which we also know that is positive train control system that an automatically slows a train down when it is going too fast or heading for a collision that wasnt installed on these tracks until seven months after the crash. That also would have prevented it. One other factor they will recommend that the federal Railroad Administration ordered changes to the windows on the railcars that contributed to the number of deaths and injuries because a lot of the passengers were thrown out of the railcar when the windows failed. A whole bunch of recommendations, a whole lot of factors and it just seems like safety net have after safety net was not there to prevent those deaths and injuries in that awful crash. A whole lot will come own down in washington and we will there been to cover it. Thanks, steve.
