Congress maam trial of congressman fattah continues. Fattah charged with misusing fund from a failed philadelphia mayoral run in 2007. Steve keeley is live in center city with more details on the trial, hi there steve. Reporter Opening Statements this morning come just days after voters took away his job. The question now is, wills judge and jury take away his freedom. So he is a accused if you do not the know it already of taking bribes, and misusing his Campaign Money and federal grants, to pay off things like his sons College Loans and he did that funny thing with the Campaign Money from his run for mayor. That was nine years ago, this month, coincidently, so a long time ago. So the question is will the jury be able to sort through the evidence because it is not just him on trial but four of his aid being tried at the same time. That means youve got five or more Defense Attorneys crossexamining possibly every witness. So it will be tough to follow, lots of evidence, lots of charges, and lots of defendants. It has been a rough 2016 for the fattah family. His wife lost her job because of this case. His sonnies now in prison for five years after losing his trial. And he just got removed from office by voters after 11 terms in congress. Can the year get worse with the convictions and he get sent to prison as well . That is the question right the now.
