Police say they have been hitting several businesses in the moorestown area drawing guns and wearing a mask or disguise to cover their faces. Now one of their targets a Family Dollar store on west camden avenue. Tonight all of this has many residents on in the area on high alert. Three armed men came in wearing disguises and baggy clothing. They forked all the employees to the back of the store. Reporter a Police Patrol wagon crept through the parking lot outside this Family Dollar store wednesday in the wake of an unusual string of armed robberies in this upscale south Jersey Community that has police scrambling and the public worried. Like row money knows gas station where a masked bandit struck twice in the last few weeks. Last friday, three gun toting robbers in disguises and baggy clothes hit this Family Dollar store just before closing. They basically threatened the employees at gun point, and herded them into the back of the store and then took the stores receipts. People have to be awake, aware and look around and try to help out. Reporter armed robber also struck at this 7eleven on west camden and one tried to rob this 7eleven on chester avenue. So far this year robberies in moorestown have more than doubled from seven a year ago. Weve had 19 robberies so far this year and weve cleared 11 of them. So were, um, were having some success. Reporter Police Arrested this man for one of the robberies and are pursuing leads in the latest dollar store stick up. Investigators are concerned about the increased number of armed hold ups and are looking for the publics help. It was very dynamic robbery they committed, and it appears to mean business.
