After walking 1,000 miles topless for the cause. Fox ronica cleary has her stall. Paulette mckenzie leap heart started in biloxi mississippi and walk 1,000 miles to arrive at the capital today. And she did the entire walk topless. I walked topless for many reasons. The number one reason is to take the stigma and the shame away from women who have had the double mastectomies without reconstruction. We have no reasons to be asham ashamed. You know, my walking across the country topless with no shame has healed so many women. Beyond removing the stigma paulette wants to see Health Care Reform associated with the cost of the treatment. She says she was lucky to have car and furniture to sell to help cover her costs and she knows many women are not as fortunate. She arrived today on her 50th birthday a milestone that was incredibly important to her. This birthday is special. Because, um, so many women didnt see 50. They fought the same battle so im celebrating them and thats why it was so important for me to reach the capitol, you know, on my 50th birthday. Leap heart caught the attention of movie producer her story was chronicled in star story a full length documentary. They begin filming at the beginning of her journey which began april 30th. She wears yellow, not pink, in her walk. I dont want to give them a pretty story wrapped up in a pretty pink bow about Breast Cancer because thats not what it is. This is it. Across my chest. Leap heart says yellow is the color of healing and yellow is the new pink because we dont need any more awareness, we need a cure. Gofundme page has been helping leap heart with costs and shes been chronic link her journey on facebook.
