Kane says for decades the victims had no voice. Today is an important day. Its an important day because as Law Enforcement officers, officers of the court, the proud men and women behind me get to tell the stories of the victim. We get to be their voice. We get to speak for the powerless. We get to speak for children who are now grown adults. But were literally killed as children. Their souls were killed as children. Shes lost her license to practice law but today she says that there will be no criminal charges or likely no criminal charges being filed because several abuses have died. The statute of limitations has expired and victims twenty four traumatized to testify in some cases. The Survivors Network of those abused by priests or snap releasing a statement this afternoon as well saying in part were saddened but not the least bit surprised. It proves what weve long maintained that even now, under the guys of reform, bishops continue to deceive parishioners and the public about their ongoing efforts to hide abuse. The philadelphia archdiocese told fox 29 today it is difficult for all those affected especially survivors and their families. Investigators say this man tried to rob a woman inside the elevator at the huntington septa station Early Saturday Morning he demanded money then stabbed the woman several times only tried to look through her pockets. When the elevator door opened, he took off. She fell to the floor. She was screaming for help. She is in stable condition. If you have any information about what happened here, call police. Developing to night, a tragedy on the job. Accident kills worker sky fox over waist management facility this morning in philadelphias home also burg second. Worker was hit by a garbage ba bail. Well, police do believe that this was a pure accident. They tell us that the worker who was killed was out doing standard inspection on a forklift which was situated next to a stack of bails while a coworker was operating a forklift nearby, that forklift made contact with the bails of cardboard causing them to topple. A bail of paper weighing 1 ton fell on top of and crushed the victim. A 42yearold male. The accident happened around 7 30 this morning at a Waste Management facility on bleigh avenue in the holmesburg section of the city. Police confirm a 42yearold male worker was transported to aria torresdale hospital and pronounced just before 8 30 this morning. While Police Continue to investigate specifics of this accident, waist management released a statement saying in part this is a heartbreaking incident and our deepest sympathies go out to the family of the deceased. Waist management went on to say they are working with the Philadelphia Police department as the accident is investigated. They are deferring all other questions to police. Certainly no airport delays but we are looking at big changes. We have rain moving in tonight through early wednesday. And then snow thursday overnight into friday. So temperature changes as well as a lot of gusty winds to get through. So look at ultimate doppler right now. Were dry at the philadelphia area but look off to the west. Take look at all of this green much this is a line of showers even some imbedded thunderstorms snow across sections of the great lakes. So this first system will miss out on the snow but we will see some rain moving through overnight. A brief period of some heavy rain, maybe even a rumble of thunder and then its going to be out of here early on your wednesday morning. So take look at the timeline. 11 00 oclock tonight that rain moves from the west. Its pretty much out of here by 7 00 oclock tomorrow morning. So if you sleep in late, youll miss the rain. Our cameras were there as divers from the fbi and epa searched an area under the ben franklin bridge earlier this month. At one point think removed several things from the river bed but curiously enough the search remains shrowded in mystery. Dave schratwieser has tonights fox 29 investigates report. Reporter it was an underwater expedition worthy of the fbis elite dive team out of new york. Officials from the environmental protect agency. When you get those two agencies working together, undertaking some sort of investigation, usually its a very big deal and its something to be concerned about. Reporter it went on in the chilly waters of the ben franklin bridge off Delaware Avenue for three days in early february. Reporter we also contacted the Us Coast Guard station here in philadelphia. They patrol the river near the ben franklin every day. We were directed to the coast guards offices in Atlantic City. A spokesman there said the coast guard had quote no involvement in the search and could not comment either. It just raises some red flags. She says theres lots of issues on the delaware that bear watching. She was surprised that no one could disclose what the search was all about. I hope that theyre successful in gathering evidence they need to make the case they need against the individual or the entity that is doing damage to the Delaware River that we all care about and depend upon. The 30yearold female victim enters an elevator at the septa station at 2600 kensington avenue around 1 30 saturday morning and just before the door closes, her attacker follows her in.
