And you can see well above the average high this time of year which once again is only in the mid 40s. The record for sunday is 65 as well. Satellite radar its dry and quiet. We saw cloud cover kind of move through the area. So that limited our temperatures from climbing even farther than a High Temperature in philadelphia today of 61 degrees. As we expand the view, still pretty quiet across parts of the lower 48 but you can see a lot of cloud cover out to the west so some of that will continue to stream in during the upcoming weekend. So kind of a milky sky. But well keep those milder temperatures because of the pattern kind of a bermuda high like pattern that we typically talk about during the summer to bring us heat waves. So well continue to watch that. Winds out of the south and west so temperatures will be into the 60s as we continue both days for the up coming weekend even into the first part of next week i think well still hit 60 degrees or better. Because of that el nino pattern. The only caveat because of the air quality being a little stagnant, both days for the upcoming weekend were talking about a little bit of an air quality concern. Experts call it an invisible problem with very real victims here in the city of physical. Homeless teens living on the streets putting themselves in dangerous situations to hide the fact that they actually have nowhere to go. So sad. Fox 29s Bill Anderson shows us the fight to find these children a home. Reporter . Homelessness in philadelphia is not a new phenomenon. Some say there are hundreds every day with no shelter at all and thousands annually with no stable housing. Although homelessness is not new if he non nom is a growing number of young people on the street that have many concerns. Ashamed to go to my sister. I didnt really know of any friends i could go to. I really dont have much family so i was just like sitting on the porch outside the house, and i was like i was crying. Reporter as recently as 19 months ago, 19yearold sophia washington was one of phillys homeless youth. I spent time with her to better understand the people who too many ignore and find out the struggles that have led teens to these circumstances. When i was 16, i left my home and my parents home my mother and father and put myself in to foster care. Um, i come from a home of domestic, verbal, physical, mental abuse, neglect. Reporter sophias story is pretty common. Unfortunately because of a combination embarrassment and revile yancy young people go to great represents to hide their situation, leaving most of us painfully unaware. The experience of homelessness for youth is somewhat invisible. Theyre going from place to place. Theyre finding somebody to stay with. They might be putting themselves into dangerous situations to be able to kind of hide that as young people they do want to just blend in. Reporter valley youth house social worker Allison Moore told me a startling number of gay youth like sophia find themselves alienated by their friends and family when they reveal their sexual orientation. That isolation led sophia to stay in what she describes as an abusive relationship that push her further into homelessness. Come get your stuff. I dont want you here. Im just like, she locked me out the house and im just like, okay. Where am i going to go. Although sophia was lucky enough to usually find some place to stay, she fell into the largest category of homeless youth. The 51 called couch hoppers who move from place to place pick up work where they can and often put themselves in dangerous situations because they have no place to go. A friend of mine, when he was homeless at the time, he got called in for an interview. He went into the interview. He didnt have he didnt have the clothes. He immediately apologized to, you know, the interviewer. Im sorry for my appearance but, you know, im capable of this job. He has experience. He had everything. They never called him back. Reporter sophia acknowledges shes not without fault in this situation and that some of her decisions led to her circumstances but she also hopes that as more and more young people are experiencing homele homelessness those of us who walk around and see them recognize that this situation it impacts all of us. That young person stand owing on the corner is the future, like, in the next 10, 20 years theyre still going to be here and you may have may or may not have passed on so theyre theyre still going to be here. So dont you want to help, you know, your future, because that is your future . If you have children, your child is going to live around this person. Reporter Bill Anderson, fox 29 news. Reporter Jeanette Harrison was leaving this wal mart on Lawrenceville Swan knee last month. Surveillance video you can see her backing out of the parking space slowly and making her way out until this car backed newspaper her. I thought it was just a regular accident. Swan knee police say after reviewing the Surveillance Video and seeing how the suspect car backed out so quickly, they knew harrison was targeted and this was not an accident. I said im calling the police and she said no, youre not. And she wrestled the phone with me. Reporter thats when harrison says one of the women started attacking her. Punching me all over with her fists like this. Reporter the greatgrandmother says while one woman couldnt to do punch her the other grabbed her purse and they took off in their car. We were able to locate the vehicle but not them immediately and through the hard work of the detectives they were able to link that to one and then two and then finally three suspects.
