Now there have been some similar studies in the past but this new one appears to offer more evidence that pregnant women really need to be mindful about packing on too many pounds. The study by dutch researchers look at women whos pregnancy weight gain was deemed excessive and they found their children had a 20 greater chance of becoming overweight. They also found and this is interesting, that children born to mom whos gained too much weight in the first year after pregnancy had more than three times higher odds of ending up overweight by the time they were 14 years old.
