They say this man sexuallies all the sad someone at knife point on tuesday afternoon on the 300 block of pennsylvania avenue wearing all gray. If you have any information, police want to hear from you. Tragedy in chester. A 16yearold boy is shot and killed while hes walking to high school. Police say the sophomore athlete was a really good kid and the teens murder is all part of a very violent morning in the city. Fox 29s bruce gordon reports from chester. Reporter crossing guard Anthony Church had just taken up his position at a 11th and kerlin around 7 30am when the shots rang out. I hear this pow pow pow and kids running and then i hear the ricochet off the wall so i ducked. One bullet shatter the window a corner Fried Chicken restaurant but at least one other hit the 16yearold vict victim. A Chester High School sophomore and football player. He staggered down 11th to the vacant Columbus Elementary School property and died on the scene. Chester high right next door and other chester upland schools were immediately placed on lock down for the safety of students. Parents rush to the high school to get their kids out and home. Whats going through your mind as mom when youre coming to school here. Scared. I was really scared. Like i dont its just too much. One woman scuffled with police and was detained. Twice during the morning. Authorities prepared to lift the lock down only to quickly reinstate it when other shooting incidents were reported. Said the frustrated superintendent. Current greek life structure at penn state is not sustainable and cannot continue in its current form. Exactly four months after 19yearold Timothy Piazza died after an alcohol fueled hazing ritual at the Beta Theta Pi frat House University officials announced changes on how those fraternities are sororityies are goved. Our aim is curb destructive out come with the penn state communities with the hope that we can preserve is what is good and vallable about the greek experience and sense of community that these organizations provide. The board of trustees promising crack down including the shutting down of any fraternity found hazing by using alcohol, physical or mental abuse. No hard liquor at parties, and spot checks of greek houses by university employees. We need action, not words. We need declarations, not concepts. The attorney representing the Piazza Family was hoping the school would do more. Like expelling the students involved in piazzas death. That change involves concrete actions that are taken. As of today, theres not one change which has been made to greek live. Theres not one person who has been held accountable by the university. They can cover so much more ground than foot beats, but yet they offer the same advantages of foot beats in that the officers are on bicycles and they are able to engage with the community.
