Reporter well what started as welfare check early this afternoon turned into a barricade situation that lasted more than seven hours and turned much more serious when the suspect allegedly started firing shots. It happened about 6 00 tonight. Police say they spot add car parked illegally along the 400 block of lindley avenue w officers approached the car, Police Say One of the three men inside started running from the officers. As he tried to get away, the man fell but once he got back up, investigators say thats when the bullets started flying. And gathering himself he turns around with firearm in his hasnt. The officer pulls his firearm and at which point in time the male begins to run officers officer partner. The officer discharged and struck the mail one time. That man is in Critical Condition in the hospital. Police have arrested one of the other guys in the car but the third one is still on the loose. The Universitys Department of Public Safety and Radnor Police are investigating a complaint from a student who is a black woman saying that she was assaulted by a group of white men who yelled trump as they ran toward her. Investigators believe those men are all members of a gang but the victim is not. 17 people in all have been arrested in portland since the protests started. A robot helped fine the device in a home in canonsburg before they went off. Police say 47yearold michael, shot two officers when they respond to do a domestic disturbance call early thursday morning. Officer Scott Bashioum was killed. The shooter shot and killed his pregnant girlfriend before turning the gun on himself scary moments for hotel guest in old city. He found intruder inside his room. It happened this morning at the Franklin Hotel on chestnut street. Police say when the 57yearold guests returned to his room he saw a man trying to steal his wifes purse. The suspect a 58yearold man had a knife, and he threatened to use it on the hotel guests. Then the suspect tried to run away, but the guests and somebody who was right there were able to hold that intruder down until police arrived. That man is now in police custody.
