Take you back in time through the afternoon the storms that ripped through the region. The line of Severe Weather with a lot of lightning, very heavy rain and of course damaging winds. Take a look at some of the peak wind gusts. Dewey beach the winds peaked at 64 miles an hour. Allentown 62. Fortescue, 53 miles an hour winds the same in new castle, delaware. At the airport. In harvey cedars, along the coastal Barrier Islands there lbi a 51mile an hour gust. It did do some damage. In the wake of the storms we will see one Positive Side of things. Well go from oppressive humidity and its going to go through uncomfortable, muggy all the way down to pleasant by tomorrow afternoon. So big changes in our forecast. This hit around 3 30 lucy and the cleanup well underway still is a great big mess. Were at the corner of up lapped and roosevelt avenue. Ill step out of the way. Were seeing at least a few situations just like this roads you cannot get passed because trees are blocking them. Several roads still closed tonight. Power is still out in places. Theres some damage but certainly this could have been much worse. It was quick and in its path fairly narrow several blocks in havertown take the brunt of the storm around 3 30 in the afternoon of the rain torrenti torrential. That was mild. It was sideways like. Didnt come straight down. Sideways down the street. 60foot trees no matched for the winds generations old they came down in seconds. Neighbors say the storm came and went in 15 minutes. All of a sudden i could feel the wind coming then the rain and then i stood there, power went out, and all of a sudden all the trees were bent left to right. Reporter one tree sliced right through this shed. Dowdowned wires meant homes witt electricity. In all cases where a tree could have fallen on house and caused serious damage, instead it landed in the street, yard or a driveway. Cleanup crews cant get the mess cleaned up fast enough. A lot of tree damage. Lots of it. I mean people its on wires its all over. Reporter several cars were damaged. The crash of the massive limbs rattling not only the ground but nerves. It was scary. Yeah, were very lucky. Reporter the chainsaws were out as quickly as the sun returned. Cleanup underway. There was sideways rain the wind. Took the whole center of the tree out. If there were any cars in behind here they would have been seriously injured, we got very lucky. Reporter they sure did. That swiss farms is back open again tonight. We just checked with peco about 2,000 customers still in the dark including those on the other side of this tree here. That is about 10 of this area so clearly theyre going in right direction. When officer davis got out police say watson tacked him and hit him in the head with a rock. Another officer ended up helping davis arrest watson but ended up with a broken sternum out of the ordeal and that officer is at paoli hospital tonight. Prosecutors have charged watson with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and host of other charges. N baton rouge, louisiana tonight authorities are shining more light on this man. 29yearold gaff vip long from kansas city. Investigators say the marine veteran shot and killed two Police Officers and one sheriffs deputy yesterday. He died a short time later at the scene during a shootout with authorities. Police say long was seeking out Law Enforcement to shoot. That ambush came just two weeks after Baton Rouge Police shot and killed alton sterling during a confrontation. Part of it was caught by phone cameras. Police think long had been in baton rouge for several days and today authorities released surveillance pictures of the attack and also some of the weapons that long had with him. We watch the video and we watched the actions of our deputes and officers. They ran to the threat, not from the threat in an attempt to protect and preserve life. They were ambushed by a man who was clearly targeting Law Enforcement. President obama has called the families of the three Law Enforcement officers and offered his condolences. In baton rouge memorials are growing tonight for the three Law Enforcement officers killed and three others hurt in an ambush. Someone saying that there was a man walking in front of the Convenience Store along airline highway in all black and a rifle. So when police arrived, that man retreated to behind the buildings. Investigators say thats when he wanted and when those officers came behind the building he began picking them off three Police Officers were killed including one from the East Baton Rouge Parish sheriffs department, and three others were injured. He passed through dallas, houston and came to baton rouge and was here several days and then decided to take action. They discovered two women with mass tick bags over their heads and theyre hands tied yesterd yesterday. Jocks twines Jennifer Joyce breaks down the case. Reporter two women were found dead inside of the rows vessel motor inn on the roosevelt boulevard sunday. Police say the pair made a suicide pact. They were fully clothed. They had plastic bags over their heads. They had plastic covering their mouths one of the females both her hands were tied behind her. The other one was tied with one hand with one hand being free. Report roar police say hot tell Surveillance System provided proof of a double suicide. No one else entered the room overnight. You see when they go in theres nobody else with them. They leave out for a couple of minutes, several hours later nobody is with them. They come back in the room. Thats the last anybody sees of them. Reporter police say both women were on drugs at the time of their deaths but they died of a fixation. Investigators tell us the women were in a relationship with one another. Their both nurses from West Virginia and came to philadelphia two weeks ago. They came here to try to find work. They could not, and their lives sort of spiraled out of control.
