The little girls mom kept running back in trying to get her. She come kept running back out black covered in soot and she couldnt believe. An off duty paramedic and off Duty Police Officer ran inside to try to rescue the little girl but turned away by the heavy flames and smoke. It wasnt until a firefighter arrived minutes later that firefighters were able to rescue her. Fire rescue came right away and got her out a few minutes later but she was like lifeless when they brought her out. As the investigation begins into what caused this fire, firefighters were busy going door to door in the neighborhood making sure residents have working smoke detectors. Its not clear if this home had them. Any time we have a residential fire we want to remind people working smoke alarms at least on of level of your home and ideally outside every sleeping area. Reporter now weve been told by a family friend tonight that little girl is on a ventilator tonight still in critical condition. Two of those fires broke out yesterday. One in the lobby. Another in the elevator. The fires forced more than 20 residents many with dissables out of the the building. Im scared.
