As you can imagine it was absolutely horrifying for the victims husband and many of the witnesses who saw this happen. It was at rush hour this evening when ride the duck vehicle met at the intersection of 11th and arch, the result, a tragedy. Preliminary information is from several witnesses that the duck boat was crossing 11th street at arch with a steady green light. Witnesses also said that the female was crossing southbound on 11th street at arch with a steady red light. It is a tragedy compounded by the fact the womans husband was just in front of her when the large vehicle struck her. This young woman was on the corner and watched it happen. Everybody started screaming. It is just like to actually see you see it on social media you see it everywhere, but to actually witness that, then it is like she didnt even see it happen. The accident blocked the busy intersection outside of the Convention Center where witnesses and other looked on, saddened by the scene in front of them. When i look on the side like you can see the ladies body still on the floor, so i was telling my friends like she is till there. Like they havent moved her. And thats when we seen them taking out the body bag and stuff to get her out. Police say there were 28 passengers on the ride the duck vehicle. Many families and some small children. They were first moved to a tour bus and then inside the Convention Center to be interviewed by investigators. Police say it does not appear the driver was at fault.
