I think what you are seeing out here in berks and Lancaster County is what we call verga where it shows up on radar but doesnt make it necessarily to the ground. But, having said that, you will need to have an umbrella at some point today. Specially actually if you are south of the city. But thats where we are seeing little green right now. Do not expect it to get warm today either. Starting off with 57 degrees, and because we expect a lot of cloud cover, we really dont see a lot more in temperature than what we have right now. So this is a big change from what we were telling you earlier this week. We started to tell but this storm yesterday moving in with some rain. So northeasterly breeze at 9 miles an hour, relative humidity right now 32 thats why that rain is having a hard time saturating the atmosphere right now so it is not going to rain probably just yet. 5 41 your sunrise time, weather changes on the way weve got the cloudy skies we do have some much needed rain, wont be whole lot but on drought watch in many counties in our area. Wet choir have impact on flights later on. May just want to check with the airline to play it safe. Otherwise good shape chris lauren . Following breaking news, twisted tail of violence coming out of West Philadelphia. Police investigating overnight murder even they are calling this unusual. Typically, steve keeley, they dont call things unusual in the city because theyve seen everything in this city. Well, everything is starting to sound unusual on tuesday morning, we had the man shot 18 times today, 12 times. And it is hard to say the phrase only a dozen times, and these bullets again point blank, standing right over somebody. Bullet casings found just 8 inches from the mans body but still you still get the ricochet effectment one of these 12 shots goes off the sidewalk and through the drivers side carve a driver passing by with a woman with him, and if to goes in the drivers window. Thats how close a point blank shot at somebody, already laying on the ground, can still almost kill somebody else just happens to be driving by at the wrong place at the wrong time. So what makes this unusual . Not only is this guy shot and killed dozen time, but before he dice, he stumbled on onto girard avenue, one of the busiest streets just before midnight. A lot of people out including 79 year old driving his oldsmobile apparently drunk and if the 12 shots dint kill this guy this drunk driver or arrested drunk driver certainly made sure he was dead. After he fell on the street, an old mobile that was traveling eason girard avenue actually ran the shooting victim over. Police were able to stop this oldsmobile about two blocks east at the intersection of 40th and girard, and the 79 year old male driver was taken into custody because he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. So the 79 year old male, who drove over our 29 year old victim after he was shot, which appears accidentally, was arrested for drunk driving. So this man in his 50s, and this woman with him were lucky they werent hurt. They also stopped because they saw a bullet come through the driver side door as they drove by during the shooting before the 79 year old had driven by and then they stopped him two blocks later as you heard right there. So couple of unusual things. And then how about this, for not so unusual but weve heard this before. As soon as they get this victim to the hospital, he is pronounced dead at precisely midnight. Nurses and doctors driving to save his life from massive injuries from both the 12 gunshots and being run over by oldmobile. They finds a gun on him as well along with crack cocaine. So, there you go, that tells you probably hinting at the motive here, somebody to up no good, in the middle of the night getting it from maybe a competitor in the drug dealing world. Yesterday that humidity really plummeted. With good hair day. Thats why were not seeing any rain actually showing up, just yet. And the computer models are telling us it probably wont for the rest of the morning. So this situation bears watching this morning again just few areas of green in Lancaster County mostly, this morning. It is 57 degrees, in philadelphia northeasterly breeze at 9 miles an hour, now, perhaps you remember, when we last time we had northeasterly breeze, we talk about how cloudy that makes it. But it is what happened after the man was shot that officers are calling pretty strange. Steve keeley live in center city at Police Headquarters with the details on there is hi steve. Reporter we have our people that watch us every day, a n now they are going to hear this for the second time in two days, one man shot, with double digit bullet. So homicide here, still looking at the case, tuesday morning, we told you about where guy was shot 18 times now, theyve got a guy that was shot 12 times. Twentynine year old close up point blank bullet shells found within 8 inches of where he collapsed on the street. And all know it is hard to survive 12point blake points fired right into your body, it is impossible to survive those 12 shots after accused 79 year old drunk driver and a big old hat, heavy oldsmobile, happens to crews down girard avenue right after you collapse and drive his big heavy car right over you with all four wheels. Just before midnight 16th districts officers on patrol in the area of 4200 girard avenue, heard multiple gunshots. When they drove to the intersection of 42nd and girard, they found a 29 year old victim, laying on the highway, in the 4200 block of girard avenue, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, chest and stomach. Police scooped him up, rushed him to presbyterian hospital. Where he was pronounced dead at midnight. From witnesses, on the scene they state that after the 29 year old man was shot he collapsed, in eastbound running lane in the 4200 block of girard avenue. And thats where he was then hit by the 79 year old in the oldsmobile, who was stopped just two blocks after he ran over this 29 year old. And this is not some innocent victim on the street. Because when they took him to the hospital, inside his parent they found crack cotape, they loaded handguns. If that isnt enough for onestory, one of those 12 bullet, even though it is being fired down into the ground of this guy probably, 12 times, one of those bullets maybe went through him. Bounces, ricochets off something, and goes through the driver side door of a couple that happened to be driving by girard before the drunk driver came along and they are lucky they werent hit and killed by that. But they got a bullet hole right within inches of where they were signature. The bullet went right through the front seat and luckily missed him. So could have been even worse than it already sound right now. The mean street of philadelphia. Ill tell you. All right steve. Lets turn to this now at 4 35. It is uncovering history. Haddonfield police chief ted got to travel back in time when he pulled out a trio of police court ledgers and in the office he inherited when he became top cop. This is showing area of green, which indicates usually, precipitation, out to our west, plus, the southern storm were watching, as well, you see kind of few stray little areas of lightning showing up on radar. We zoom in little closer, and explain whats happening. Very dry air mass in place we talk about it yesterday, how the humidity went away, and we had good hair day well, now all of this is trying to move into our area. But, it is hit that dry air mass so, were not really seeing out to our west in lancaster and berks counties. Any precipitation yet may hit the ground. Future cast has mostly clouds for us this morning which means, we wont see a rise in temperature, much at all we will be lucky to get into the six 60s today. Now that 10 00 in the morning we see some rain moving in, especially south of us, and some of that rain sneaking into our area about 3 00 in the afternoon. Your north and west of the city probably wont see much of anything except cloud cover today. But this is a possibility of heavy rain to the south which we do need, really are in a rainfall deficit at this point in may. Everything is gone. Looks like about 9 00, 10 00 tonight. Then we should have a dry day tomorrow. Looking at the cool temperatures, 43 degrees in philadelphia, and mount pocono, in philadelphia, it is 57 48 in allentown, 50 in lancaster, and down in millville, it is 53. Fiftyfive in dover and 50 in wildwood. Much cooler than yesterday. Wind have calm down a lot since yesterday in the afternoon, 9mile per hour wind. See the direction northeasterly, now northeasterly wind bridges moisture in off the ocean why we expect to be cloudy even when it is not rainingment checking temperatures, which zoomed into the upper 80s earlier this week, yesterday we had very pleasant 75 degrees, it was lovely, and worthy of the ten. Because it is right where we were supposed to be. Now a below average today. With that High Temperature of 62 degrees quite a few clouds, and the chance of some showers in the afternoon. Things do brighten up a lot for your get away day potentially on friday. And 72 degrees, on saturday, sunday, start to warm up.
